pro's CI - 11:20pm

Fooled around for about 10 minutes after my last check-in. Gotta stop doing that. I really do want to start getting to bed earlier so I can get up earlier. I'm not doing anything so fascinating in the evening. I could be sleeping.

that's some ta-da list, 1Focus!

pro's CI - 7:30pm

I was going to go to Union Square today, but then when I got outside I remembered I've been wanting to go to the big 24/7 Apple store on 57th Street, so I did that. What a place! It's more like a "happening" than a store. There are computers all over the store that you can sit down and use - must be a hundred of them. I bought a way cool "mighty mouse" (mouse with mac-specific features).

Coming back I took a longer-than-intended walk through Central Park because I, AS ALWAYS, got lost. I cannot go into Central Park without getting lost - drives me nuts. I'm going to find a map of Central Park on the internet, print it out, and get to know my way around it once and for all.

There's a 4-acre closed-to-the-public wildlife sanctuary in the park, I discovered today. I was passing through a fenced in area that reminded me oddly of my ex-home in New England, and then I saw the sign. It reminded me of NE because it was wild. I miss NE. :( But Central Park is very nice - if only I didn't get lost in it.

I still haven't taken any pills today. Bad. I was sniffling all day because of no allergy meds. Taking my pills is next on my to-do list!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Ta Da~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

  • Morning Routine
    • Wake up: 9:15am. (no target - it's Saturday! Still, I stayed up too late last night. I was over-tired when I finally went to bed, and I'd have liked to get an earlier start.)
    • Empty dish drain and wash any dishes from previous day.
    • Make and eat breakfast.
    • Wash breakfast dishes.
    • Put in contacts.
    • Make bed (convert futon back into couch).
    • Get dressed (showered night before).
  • Added dozens of new graphics to this Web site.
  • Did something small related to my business (not serious work).

Somehow my morning routine took me until 4pm today, but I'm happy to say that now (at least) I am finally dressed and ready to go out. And it's sunny out, so I want to get out there before it's evening!

I didn't take my pills yet today, but I've just gotta get outside!! I'll take them later.

at 4:46 I will give a update on what was done.

HR

good to put your username in the subject

Hi Housereclaimer - forgot to mention... You might want to put your username in the subject in your updates (e.g. "Houseclaimer's 11pm update"). That way we don't get our updates all mixed up.

Also, you might want to post your updates by replying to the top message in the day thread. That way your updates are on top as the most recent message posted, and easier to find (and so easier for people to respond to).

Looks like you did GREAT today (and I absolutely LOVED the poem!!!!). :D

Tales of the Housereclaimer

the floor is done
the floor is done
the kitchen battle's
is almost won

To some this may seem
a lot of celebration
over a very small thing

But I tell you once
I will tell you all
once the floor is clean
the kitchen falls

I don't no what it is
about seeing a clean floor
that hurries me to battle
so I can win a rooms war

I did take a break
for dinner and cake
I thank you all
for your cheers
it kept me focused
it kept me clear

I'll take out the trash
for tonight I think I'm done
for the floor is clean
the kitchen war's begun

the Housereclaimer

oh my - poetry!!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're doing great.

Now, take a break. It's Saturday night!

Yay, Housereclaimer!!

going out now

I'm going out now so I probably won't be here to cheer you on when you check in again, but I'll be back later. Weekends here tend to be slowest (fewest people around), but I'm always around. With my ADD, I always need the structure of routines and bookending.

Here's a cheer for you in-absentia...

break it down

You might want to make a to-do list for the next hour that breaks down everything you have to do into action steps. E.g. take out bucket, fill bucket with soapy water, find niece's phone number, etc. Then post the to-do list, and periodically check in - after every item, if you have to. As you do each thing, move it from the "to do" list to a "ta da" list. We are in favor of baby steps here!!

one hour can be too long for me

You may want to break that down a little more. When I'm struggling, I often check in every 15 minutes - after almost every single little thing I do. Sometimes I need that.

pro's CI - 2pm

1Focus is onto the garage project, and I'm still trying to finish my morning routine (at 2pm). I'm discovering that if I sit at the breakfast table long enough, I become hungry for lunch. :P

Remember

I was awake at 5:00 this morning, and out of bed before 6:00 :O

Still...

...that doesn't account for me being out of bed by 9:15am and still in my jammies at 2pm. :P

Jammies

I am still in my jammies at 1:30pm, too. It's Sunday :)

(although just being in jammies doesn't mean you haven't done anything! I have managed a couple of things...)

jammie work

The main thing I did (and I'm supposed to be in bed now }:) ) was add several dozen new graphics to our collection. Questionable use, but fun. :P

Sleeping babes..

You're so lucky both your kids still sleep during the day. My DD hasn't since she was about 2. She started dropping it at 18mths but I insisted. I would sit with her until she fell asleep just to get my break! I still remember well before she was 2, sitting on the floor next to her bed, rocking my DS (around 2 months) to sleep and hissing "lay down" to her until she finally dropped off. At that point I would take DS into his room and put him down (if he had gone to sleep) and go and lay on my bed and cry with exhaustion, beacuse I was also getting up 3-5 times a night to them both as well (and that was with DH getting up the other half of the times!).

Now, DS has been sleeping every second day of late, and DD not at all. But I'm no longer exhausted because they sleep all night pretty consistently.

But I'd still love it if they were BOTH asleep now!!!!

pro's CI - 12:45pm

I'm still sitting at the breakfast table. :P I've added dozens of new images (even more since a few days ago), and I caught up on posts (I can't always do that during the week). Now I need to get moving on my morning routine and get dressed. I can't sit here in my jammies all day!

already mowed!

You're off to a roaring start. I haven't gotten up from the breakfast table yet.

pro's first check-in - 9:50am

I haven't decided what I'm going to do today, except that I want to make it a sabbath - no work. Come to think of it, I did a little programming last night, but it was a bug causing a major error and it didn't take long. I'm not going to get rigid about sabbath - not cooking, or buying things or turning lights on and off. I'm just not going to do anything that feels like work to me.

  • Read my Mac books and learn some advanced stuff.
  • Research Judaism and where to take Hebrew lessons on the Web. (I loved the Shabbot service last night, and would like to have some clue what's going on. I had no religious education as a child.)

Probably I can't do all those things in one day, but I feel like trying. :D

That happens to me sometimes. At least you got an early start! I don't have wake-up targets on weekends.

Oops, neither do I. (ctrl-v)
