Gratitude Marathon

As I "keep keeping on" today, I have come accross all kinds of phone marathons for the holidays.

ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) :starts tonite at 10pm and runs throughout the day tommorrow

Thanksgiving 24hour Marathon" - 1-712-432-3900 Pincode Aca2221212# (2221212#), Novermber 25th. I know there are many others, but I do not have all the numbers at this time.

I know how important praise and prayer is in recovery and it is not because it is a nice thing to do. I am grateful to have this site where I can post at any time because I do not have a sponsor I can call anytime. I am grateful that I have not shut down, so many things happening, I feel very disorientated, but I do not feel alone. When I am thankful, I can dispose of my doubts and fears.I am thankful I can go for a walk soon and know that it will help. I thought maybe if anyone wants to post gratitudes, we can do it here. Thanks for being here.

pm gratitudes- grateful I got to walk, grateful I heard some good music, grateful for power of forgiveness, grateful for hp mercy, grateful for my human experience as a spiritual being, grateful for phone meeting and shares, grateful I don't have to feel guilt or shame, grateful for William James writings of "giving oneself up" rather than "pulling oneself together".

Thanks

night thanks- Grateful that I can share my dependence upon my creator here , hope I can be of greater service.

noon  thank-  grateful to hear the story today of the 10 lepers Jesus healed and only one who came back to thank him. I am grateful I can give thanks for all that was given me.

am Thanks- grateful to remember all I have to be grateful for that I have taken for granted. First of all grateful that I do not have to wake up in fear of a food, bulimia, alcohol relapse and all the horror that comes with it. Grateful that I still love my husband of 30 years, even with all the bumps in the road, Grateful that I got to be a mom, my boys are adopted, kind of dropped off at my house by my HP, after I gave up all hope of ever being a mom, and even though we are having problems, I would never trade my life as a mom, with all the problems, for my life of not being a mom, grateful that I am not a cat person but the cats we have are the most loving cats I ever knew, grateful for my health, grateful for all my hp has blessed us with, grateful for my friends, grateful for all the phone marathon meetings, grateful for the people in my life:

Reason, Season, And A Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you will know exactly what to do.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go..

Some people become friends and stay awhile...

leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts...

and we are never quite the same because we have made a good friend!!!

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person or people involved; and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships, and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

When you read this, just recite the following prayer.
That's all you have to do. There is nothing else attached.
This is the power of prayer at work.

May today there be peace within you.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing that you are a child of God.
Let His presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing,
dance, and to bask in the sun.
It is there for each and every one of you.

Send this to the people in your life
and witness...

The Awesome Power of Prayer

Findingaway gratitude

Thanks vic for starting this thread.
I am grateful for many things in my life: for my family, for my health, for my family's health, for friends, for the wonders and gifts of nature, to have work, for my husband to have work, for a comfortable safe home in a peaceful town, for plenty of fresh food and water, for books and music, to be able to connect and share with others, for spiritual connection - just to be alive on this earth!

And to have hope that I can recover from procrastination! That is something new!
