Vic 8/21

show up (done) The "and then what" self talk seems to help. I wanted to relax before I went for my wlak and when I asked myself "and then what" I said I probably wouldn;t go, so I just went.

Rexroth very late Check In

Woke tired out today and wondered what I should do.

Done:
Up prayer and reflection - very brief and I need to catch up this evening
Checked emails
Out to DA meeting where I contributed (so many years so much change in me and I am so very greatful) and helped with meeting
Shopped for medicines for trip abroad - I now have a small pharmacy
Over to meet friend for huge Italian lunch and afterwards for walk in park and shopping for clothes (mine) I have almost a phobia about shopping - now I have almost everything I plan to take
Home and put on washing machine

Todo:
Bath it is hot and sticky in London today
Prayer and reflection
Bed and sleep

I am getting behind - the washing up is not done and the place is a mess and I'm tired out and anxious and excited about going away.

Regards Rexroth

Low energy morning

9:33 AM: Not feeling motivated this morning. Had a productive afternoon Friday, but feel I am in a post-productivity letdown, something I am quite familiar with. Well, want to get some work done. Still hope I will be able to walk out of my current job for the last time next Friday feeling like I managed to catch up and tidy up my loose ends. In order to do that, I have to get moving.

Goal 1: Get ready and leave the apartment by 10:15 AM. Back with more goals later.

2:18 PM: Well, I didn't meet my first goal. Actually didn't leave the apartment until shortly after noon, after a very stressful phone call about child custody/visitation arrangements going forward. Well, made it into work after some compulsive eating to feel better, then wasted time online. Alright, I have managed to re-corral the horses, I think.

Goal 2: 2:30 - 5:00 PM: About 7-8 cases in 2.5 hours. Back to report.

5:19 PM: Managed to work on 7 cases, also released 3 online that only needed minor edits. Not too bad, although I would always like to accomplish more, faster.

Journey 9:30

Slept in a bit this morning, it was nice!  I need to make a to do list and  a grocery list and get to the mother-in-law's house by 11:30.  I'm going to the Varsity for lunch with my hubby and some of this family and friends.   I'm not really looking forward to it, as I won't know a lot of people there and he will want to stay forever, but I'm sure it will be fun once I get there.  My husband is a real social person, which is a good thing because he gets me out of my shell and forces me to go out and have fun even when I don't want to.

Here's the list:

  • Hair, makeup and clothes
  • Grocery list
  • Luncheon
  • Grocery shopping
  • dinner
  • dishes
  • work tonight 8-10
  • clean the sticky ashtray in my car
  • deposit check
  • get keys made
  • call mom

There's a bunch of other stuff I'd like to get done today but, if I'm being realistic, I'll be doing good to finish the above.  Have a great weekend!

Helen's CI

Well yesterday I avoid this site like it was plague ridden and procrastinated all day.

Today I have decided to work on my home. Soon I will have a friend coming to stay :) and I would really like her to walk in and smile rather than look horrified which she might well do if she arrived today.

So timer is set for and here I go...

20 mins - washing up

20 mins- tidy living room

20 mins - break

20 mins - pick up clothes in bedroom and put them on hangers

20 mins - clear books from hall

Well the morning went well then I slept all afternoon and spun my wheels all evening. I did a bit of research into courses for a friend but other than that nil. However I am going to give myself praise for the morning rather than a hard time for the rest of the day. I have made a start. Baby steps.

Struggle

Well the first twenty mins did not go well. I could not find any bin liners so I ended up in the living room playing computer games. Right try again. Put on some music and some incense and try the next twenty minutes.

Sat

Thank God I have this forum to visit. Today I need it really.

To do:

-moderate breakfas, kitchen cleaning

-12 step literature (AA´s "For Today")

-Write/call A.

-check e-mails, skype, facebook and bank account

-laundry

-sort stuff, clothes etc at least 10 minutes

-write M

-work on step 9 & 10.

So grateful to this fellowship and to my recovery. I bet without this program I´d not be even alive anymore.  The most beautiful and important thing in my whole life is recovery in a 12 step group.  Hope that I am  willing to to keep coming back tomorrow.

In recovery
