Hmm, so much for 'committing to show up every day'... Never mind, here I am again! Nearly bedtime now but I'm making up a tasklist for tomorrow.

Hello

I hope to get some more of my reports done.  I am so sick of them.  They are boring, but I am lucky to have my job.  So, I'll continue to (mood word) crunch and get them done.

Work:  a.b.,    n.b,     m.l,      j,g,     B,B,     m,m.

Checking In at 10:20 am

It's been over a week since my last CI and a messy week it's been - mostly reacting to urgent rush-rush. Also time-wasters, I'll admit (how did I manage to get hooked on midnight Olympic Curling broadcasts?)

I've also been stressed physically, chronically short on sleep and way too dependent on caffeine to keep me going. I had a medical test yesterday that gave disappointing results and I keep thinking it would have gone better if I were rested. Whether that's right or not, it's a reminder that I can't keep up living a horrific schedule without it taking a toll in the long run.

Back on the task list: I'm still struggling to keep up with the Urgent but as a reminder that there are Important things that need attention I'm updating the list I posted on 10Feb2010. The number of things that are repeated show how much I need to get past the Urgent and back to the Important.

GENERAL ISSUES / GOALS:
A Get schedule back on track so tomorrow can be on standard business hours.
B  Check in briefly with Boss at least once before end of day
   to discuss today's project status/progress.

MUTs:
U1 Personal: Morning chores
U2 Work: Update Boss before end of workday (progress on MITs)
U3 Personal: Banking/Bills (Remember February “ends early”!)
U4 Personal: Planned Emails (The time-sensitive ones)
U5 Personal: Evening Chores

MITs (! = Also Urgent)
I1  Update Work Tasklist*
I2  Proj #1 - Data Analysis - Setup Template Spreadsheet
I3  Proj #1 – Followup on Presentation Approval
I4! Proj #3 – Request Approval for presentation
I5  Proj #2 – Followup on Facilities search
I6 New Business – Plan Proposal

I7 Update Personal Tasklist*
I8! Personal Email Responses (3 are urgent)
I9 Home Decluttering

I put in the "codes" (I1, U1 etc.) as a shorthand so I can reference progress on today's list in my followup check-ins.

* Note on Tasklist items (I1, I7) – My tasklists are still a mess and need attention as soon as I’m past crisis mode.

Show up (done) My thought Caveat for today.

When you do succeed, start, take time to savor the moment so you will remember how good it feels. This will help the next time you need encouragement.

noon ck in, I need to break my caveat down, to the bottom, the other one wasn't working, just need to start....anything. I will ck in later , after I seehow this one works.

It did work, I did alot of low priority things, but things I would have not done  becuase I would have thought they are not important.

Journey 9:45 *yawn*

Good morning!   Back to the gym today after 3 days absence.   Now I want to go back to bed lol but I must work.    I'm still dealing with the fallout from the scheduling mistake I made but hopefully today won't be as horrible as yesterday.   We have a big test scheduled this afternoon so that will take a good bit of my time today.  I have read email and checked my calendar.   I need to send regrets for a 1 pm meeting because it conflicts with the test, and I have a meeting with the boss, in which we will discuss at length I am sure the mistake I made *sigh*.   Oh well, I never said I was perfect!

I'm going now to change clothes, make my todo list, and prepare for the boss meeting.

UPDATE:  boss was totally cool.  He said, so your need to reschedule conflicted with their schedule change, and those two things together resulted in this problem.   These things happen.   *whew*

UPDATE 6 pm Strange day.  I never really finished my todo list, but I did some work on my top 3 projects, because stuff came up that I had to deal with.   But I feel disorganized and I did a little bit of goofing off too.  Tomorrow I will exercise at home and take time to get myself organized before I start working, I don't like this feeling!

Inkling checking in

Lots of energy but trouble keeping on track. Today's list.

  • Respond to enquiries
  • Send out forms to borrowers
  • Continue to sort out identifications

Tuesday's list:   W-2

Tuesday's list:

  • W-2 forms mailed (got one done)
  • call PB
  • 1 hr CC work
  • drop off LAB
  • 90 min work on presentation

Well, I could have done the rest but went web surfing tonight. Argh. On the bright side, because I was missing the actual W-2 software, I did at least put forth a mighty 2 hour effort to recreate those on Word. Almost done.
