Aack! Where I blew it:
--be at other church early--by 2:30
--so LEAVE at 2:15 (but wait for one parent to follow)
--take all the stuff for the orientation!
I forgot I impulsively volunteered to provide the materials for making some kind of permanent nametags for class members of the cooperative confirmation class!!! At 2:15 I remembered!!! So I had DH stay home and wait for the mom to show up (and he had to ride with her) while I dashed to superstore and builder's store to come up with items. Wound up providing wallcovers (the ones used to cover up old electric sockets), that we decorated and hung on lanyards. Brilliant! But expensive (for decorating materials, not wallcovers) and made me late. Now I have to add a chore of sorting through the leftover material and returning the stuff we didn't use. THIS kind of impulsivity and forgetfulness are ADD traits I have in spades! I MUST stop volunteering for so many things!
Right now I sure don't picture doing the following--though after I eat and think about how long I've been putting it off, I might do it after all! Especially since I'm waiting for a return call from somebody who needs to get into the church.

To think, to read, to restore one's spirit--sometimes far more useful than household chores (though, sadly, not always :( ) A good think may give you clearer direction tomorrow and all week--so long as it doesn't lead to a binge of naval-gazing that supplants all your recent hard work and successes (as it might do in my case).
I'm not "navel gazing". I'm writing in my journal. I didn't do it this morning. It's a good thing for me to do - keeps me in touch with myself, my feelings, and my needs (which I tend to ignore, otherwise).
You can't always be doing - or I can't. I'd feel like I was running around like a chicken without a head if I didn't take time to reflect.
I was not disparaging your sabbattical. I wouldn't. But I don't know you well enough to know whether you need comforting or a swift kick when you get blue, and you sounded a little blue. I wanted to offer encouragement, but then I wondered if it might not be enabling what could later be seen as getting off track. The last part was a wry acknowledgement that I, slider, can turn soul-searching into a massive time-binge with nothing to show for it--not even rest or peace, just more anguish and wasted time. But perhaps that's only because I've never gotten all the way through it, to the bottom. I have no idea how long that would take me!
I value journalling and reflective times immensely. Without them I slowly go insane. As I have been doing lately.
It's late, I haven't had dinner yet (and I'm hungry), and I want to work on my accounting backlog a bit tonight, so I'm going to move my housecleaning to next Sunday. I might do it in bits during the week, but probably not. I need to do other things during the week, and I can use housecleaning as a procrastination. I won't need to do laundry next Sunday, so I'll have more time.

> Was 'chatting' to Normy about this on another thread and thought I'd take it off-topic.
This is why I put my wake-up time on the ta-da list. I woke up - ta-da! If I put sleep on there, I wouldn't be able to check it off lately. I've been sleeply badly the last week - not typical for me. I'm showing all the signs of being upset about something that I'm pushing out of my mind - bad dreams, mindless eating, sleep problems. I need to have a talk with myself and find out what's wrong.
When you make up your day plan, do you decide how long you will spend on each item to make sure they'll all fit in your day? I've started doing that so I can actually succeed with my to-do list (cross everything off). It helps my spirits, and also helps me to use my time better because I'm recognizing that it's not limitless.
Milo had a day off posting yesterday (although due to time warp was present on the thread earlier on in my day), and tl is away. So that left pro, slider, and Normy.
Slider and pro both had reflective moments and came up with some valuable insights. Slider has resurrected the Codependency and Procrastination thread and an ADD thread. And Slider's big achievement for the day: prep for confirmtion orientation ~before~ the last minute!
Slider LOL about the 'Blew Off' list - I might have to add that one to my repetoire. Sometimes I get so sick of something turning up on my lists that I decide I don't want to do it anymore!
pro discovered a concept that's alien to many procrastinators - The Day Off. Now you've got that one under your belt pro you're a ~real~ anticrastinator! The day still started with Morning Routine and ended with Bedtime Routine. Hopefully we'll get a report on the foetid plant today, LOL! (Is it ~really~ as stinky as they say?!)
I've posted in the Q&A&I about my Routines, and also about the Fantasy Journal (which I still haven't done this weekend :P - it's on the ToDo list!).

Just feeling down so wanted some company :( DH is as down as me so he's crap company now, too.
Kids are driving us nuts. If they aren't fighting, one is talking or nagging (she has verbal diorrhea) and the other is screaming or crying. One is sick (it's just a cold) and the other antagonises him. The sick one doesn't know if he's Arthur or Martha. He'll want something, then won't want it, then scream for it, then chuck a massive wobbly and run off into a room and glare at me from its corner. Throughout all this the other one is half a step behind me saying "Mummy...mum..mum..mum? Mum...Mum..MUM!!!!" "What are you doing? What did you say? Why is this a cushion? Why why why why???"
It's just bloody relentless right now. DH is bathing them so I have a few minutes peace. Why do we have children..???? Remind me???!!
After I posted, still feeling miserable, my DS (he's adorable - like a little model) wandered in and said "Hello, Mummy!" And climbed on my lap for a cuddle. He smelt all clean and fresh and looked so cute in his little Bob the Builder jarmies.
I've got a rather ambitious list for today, but it doesn't matter if I don't get it all done. If I aim low I know that's all I'll achieve, but as long as I have everything ready to roll for Monday everything else is bonus.

*Sleep! (An advantage of putting 'sleep' on your ToDo list is that you can tick something off as soon as you get up, LOL!)
*Reminder pop ups –deal with them or add to Big List (in progress - I often snooze them)
*Go for a run
*Morning Routine, CI & CUOP (due to extreme CI & CUOP I'm half an hour behind schedule, but that's OK ~cos it's Sunday~ and anything I do today is bonus :) )
*1 hour homework
*Break - Review borrowed books reading list
*Study Yoga Sutras
*Plan Monday classes
*Daytime Routine (inc Ddog Walk)
*Break - Sort out stuff to donate to CC
*Check CC course plan for prep for next week

*Break – Zone Work

*Weekly Review
*Break – Tidy up!
*Deal with at least one item per day from in-tray
*Deal with at least one item per day from in-box on floor

*Book First Aid Course
*Meal prep, meal, clear up

OK, better get moving!
Not really checking in...
Remind me???!!
same here
I never wanted children for just that reason. I like other people's kids for a few minutes, and then I like to give them back. :)
LOL!
That's exactly why I ~didn't~!
I got my answer!
After I posted, still feeling miserable, my DS (he's adorable - like a little model) wandered in and said "Hello, Mummy!" And climbed on my lap for a cuddle. He smelt all clean and fresh and looked so cute in his little Bob the Builder jarmies.
So now I remember why! :)
Norm's 1.15 am BE
I've got a rather ambitious list for today, but it doesn't matter if I don't get it all done. If I aim low I know that's all I'll achieve, but as long as I have everything ready to roll for Monday everything else is bonus.

Whaddya think? Can I do it?
I think you can do anything, Norm...
You're inspiring :)
Thanks Milo :o)
I do seem to be in one of my 'up' phases at the moment, and I want to make the best of it.
If it wasn't for the support from the boards I don't think I'd be 'up' quite so often ;)
