Happy Eastew and Happy Spwing (& Happy Fall to Gwail)

pro's "I should be in bed" check-in

I did the main thing I wanted to do today - update this site with resources (books, coaching). I supposed I could have done more, but physically, I didn't feel up to it.

Now I'm late getting to bed. I have work tomorrow! My teeth are brushed (just did that), but I need to open up the futon.

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.

RSS feeds are messed up (and I still should be in bed)

1:25am is not the time to be checking the code for RSS feeds on this site.

Bed! I must go to bed!!

RSS problem is an incompatibility with IE, and...

...I really, really, REALLY need to go to bed!!!!!!!

go to bed

you have done so much today: give yourself permission to go to bed even if it is not how you want it. Progress not perfection helps me when I feel anxious that something is not right. good night, pro!

I fixed it (and I can't believe I'm still up)

Bad, bad, bad. It's after 2am and I'm still up!

I'm very compulsive - I couldn't let it be. It's fixed.

Okay, REALLY going to bed now...

*Tilt*** Recycler CI 4:50pm EST

Hi!

Check-in:  washed, dried, & put away 2 loads of clothes; cooked dinner; fixed 2 evening-gym bags for next week, went to spiritual activity.

Yesterday I made it through the visit by the company.  After they left, an emotional issue had come up, and so off-&-on dealt with that last night & this morning.  Also this morning I am getting ready to meet with a friend for brunch.

Thursday the friend requested that I bring a certain outfit for their doll, so they can have it for a photo shoot to win $350.  Sure :)  However, up through this morning, my priorities have been Company, work, and processing the emotional issue.

(Humor) This morning:  Hmmm, I had seen the doll outfit within the last 2 weeks.  I find it easily.  Wait:  where is the matching hat and accessories?!!!  Arghhhh!!! (Sorts through the 10+ boxes of doll clothes in the house & other doll storage boxes; dolls & boxes going everywhere)  (sigh)  Finds it in time to go to spiritual activity, followed by brunch.  I am a hero!!!

Arrives home:  dolls & boxes everywhere!!!  (sigh)  I am a zero!!!

Scrolls board, naps, sorts doll accessories, puts boxes away.  OK, there's a few stray items floating around, but progress not perfection ...  I'm off from work tomorrow, so I can try again then! ;)

I hope everyone has had a good weekend :)  Talk to you on Monday! :)

I want to know who chewed the ears off my chocolate bunny?

Wasn't me!

I always eat the feet first, so they can't hop away.  })

Falcon CI Sunday

Thanks for the Easter chickies, e!

Here's what I was working on yesterday:

  • Pay bills -- DONE!
  • Clean up rug where kitty coughed up hairball -- Underway (enzyme stuff was drying overnight; can sponge it today.)
  • Get groceries
  • Sort out annoying insurance thing
  • Launder socks, etc. -- DONE!
  • Launder delicate stuff -- Underway
  • Launder white gi shirts -- DONE!
  • Wrap birthday present
  • Make chocolate bunnies
  • Write profile -- Underway
  • Learn music -- Underway
  • Pick up pants from tailor
  • House cleaning? -- Did a little here & there

It would also be good today to:

Call M
Call L&A and make plans
Call J

And I need to take a walk.  Better get rolling, I guess.

Next up:  Eat breakfast, take a shower, and be dressed and "at work" by 9:30.  I'll check in then.

Falcon CI - reporting for work

I'm a slowpoke so far -- said I'd check in at 9:30, and it's almost 10:00 already!  But I'm clean and fed and dressed and even have shoes on, so now I'm good to go.

I have a new toy -- a "StressEraser" -- it's a biofeedback gadget that's supposed to be sort of like meditation for people who (like me) don't like to meditate.  I've been experimenting with using it at different times of day to see if it helps me get regrounded & focused.

Right now I'm in one of those modes where I just want to hibernate & not do anything.  So I'm going to play with the stresseraser a bit & see if I can get my brain waves moving in a more positive direction.

Next up:

  • Stresseraser
  • Spend 10 minutes on the annoying insurance thing
  • Check back in

Falcon

Constructive procrastination!

I've always sort of envied those people who could do task A as a way of putting off task B.  Usually when I'm resistant to something on my list I resist doing anything and get nothing done at all!

Now -- thanks to this forum, I think -- I seem to be learning the art of constructive procrastination -- I just made a batch of chocolate bunnies, tidied the kitchen, and practiced music, rather than tackle the annoying insurance thing.  Smile  I even took a little peep at the insurance thing (and verified that yes, it is every bit as annoying as I thought it would be.)

Next up,

  • Put in a load of laundry
  • Eat lunch
  • Go get groceries

Falcon

Falcon CI - not bad

Not a bad day.  I've been reasonably productive this weekend, and feel like I used more time than I wasted.

Next up:

  • Post on zenhabits forum about stresseraser
  • Work on profile & see if I can finish it before going out

Falcon

stresseraser

did it work?

Yay choc bunnies! :)

hi Falcon!

Yay on the chocolate bunnies! :)

Good luck on everything else, too! :)

e's list of Sunday's to do

Hello Everyone!

Thank you to everyone who was in the chatbox yesterday: it was helpful in getting things accomplished and my son just pointed out to me that he gets his homework better when he can chat alongside friends. So there, Mom!

In any case, there is a lot to do this morning, starting with the washing machine which is yelling at me. brb

e's late afternoon checkback

okay, let me just say that I have been procrastinating on my biggest issue for 2 years now and I am fiddling around with smaller stuff so I don't have to look at that. This is the come clean list

student: practicum, portfolio, certificaion
work: dr. b research, dr. p letter, contract signing,
home: grocery, dinner, kitchen floor, bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting,
mom: double checking homework, go through c's clothes with him, a needs jeans,

e's pat on the back

In fact, it has not been a very productive day, but if I look at what is not done, versus what I have done I will not get motivated to do more.

today: 4 loads of laundry/handwash
fixed the washer
loaded and emptied the dishwasher... twice
went through some receipts
took a nap
read the paper
swept the kitchen floor
made tuna salad for lunch
drank half my water
took my meds
sorted through some extra files
filed some files
played sudoku - poorly
washed bathroom sink and jane
put some laundry away
hung out some laundry
read about procrastination
started to watch a movie

honestly, I don't feel much better, but it does help me to put things in perspective.
Gratitude list for the day
A made awesome mashed potatoes
G made great steak
naps, naps, naps
babysteps towards paperwork
C did his math
the electricity stayed on all day
the garbage strike is over
half day school for kids tomorrow
blackboard application
going to a job i enjoy tomorrow

You da Woman!

elizaveth,

Let me take this opportunity to tell you that it would be quite a great thing to know you. You have a determined and pure heart and I admire you. Your family is to be envied.  I hope you take great satisfaction in knowing you are making great strides in your life.

You gotta know everyone on this site is proud of who you are.

Now go get some baklava!

douglas

way to go

i know that took guts.

admiring my guts

i have a long way to go, but I am on my way

maybe that's the most

maybe that's the most we can ask of ourselves?

most we can ask

it is healthier for me to acknowledge the progress, however small, I make because I get stuck with beating myself up for not doing everything well. now, to my shower!!!!

acknowledge progress

yep.  me too.
