When I have enough money to
When I have enough money to contribute, I'll be the happiest and I will sure drop money in the hat (I'm in one point where practically all money I receive is for cooking and transportation and have a hard time making ends meet
). I'm working towards a regular income getting a lot of help from this great forum. I hope, soon soon I will be able to contribute. Thanks so much for doing the site free while we're poor due to longlife bad habits.
Fear is only a thought and as a thought you can ignore it.
we need more disk space - PLEASE CONTRIBUTE
I just got a notice that this site is over quota on disk space so I need to switch us to a business account, which will cost more. Please contribute towards costs. I am not fully about to cover my own personal expenses and I need help paying for this site.
Thank you.

we are significantly over our disk quota, possible instability
FYI - I am making arrangements with the Web host to upgrade to business hosting. Until that is complete, we are significantly over our disk quota, and that may cause instability and/or our account may be suspended while I'm working this out with them.
Again, please contribute what you can to help cover the increased cost.
we have upgraded to a business account - THANKS TO CONTRIBUTORS!
We have upgraded to a business account to accommodate our disk space requirements, so the site should be stable. Many thanks to those who responded to my request and sent contributions to help me pay for it. Much appreciated!
This will be an ongoing expense - business hosting account is a higher annual fee. But we need it and we'll be good for a while now. I don't think we'll be needing our own server any time soon.

Please remember to contribute!
The site is growing and that's a wonderful thing! We are doing good work, but unfortunately great web sites ain't free. Thanks to Pro for contributing so much time and energy to our group, and thanks to everyone who contributes to keep us going.
Even a small donation helps, so make your contribution today!

Just a reminder
If you can donate or make a monthly contribution it really helps towards the costs of running this site, which benefits so many of us.

Maybe
I have now signed up to PA and having read through a lot of other posts and articles am relieved to find others who have the same issues.
I had just got to point in my life where frustrations had reached an unmanageable level. This recently culminated in a huge confrontation at work and left me finally having to accept and revisit lots of problems that had been destroying my working life for months. Probably years.
I hope that having piles on my desk, unopened bills on the table, car tyres that run bald, unresponded party invites (that I want to attend), lack of respect from employees and promised but unfulfilled work projects will come to an end. It feels a bit odd to be sharing this with others but also massively helpful. I notice a lot of comments about self-destructive behaviour and I can see that in my own life. But the other aspect that plagues me is the frustration and raw, powerful anger that arises because of where my life is (not) going. Having destroyed my third i-phone in a fit of frustration (again) as a result of a tiny-task-procrastination-seed growing into a huge, all-singing all-dancing oak tree, I felt the need to take decisive action and googled 'procrastination help'. So here I am.
I look forward hearing other people's experiences and finally working to remove procrastination from my life.

welcome ((PEA))
Hope you will not mind....I wrote what I thought was a decent welcome to another newcomer not long after I joined up myself. So, perhaps I can use it welcome you:
pssst....using swim lessons' analogy (motivated by kids)
hey, you, that's right, you...come on, no worries.....don't be scared .........just take my hand.....come on up....that's it.....push just a little bit more....I got you....now use your legs....and just a bit of your arms.....come on....yeah, YEAH, yeah!!! YOU'RE doing it....just a bit at a time.....keep following....come one along.,...LET US KNOW...I have been where you are [and worse]......I will not say it is easy....but I know you can...and KUDOS for admitting and trying........
Thanks Pro!

just paid to renew site hosting, please contribute
In October I renewed our domain name - thanks to those who contributed when I posted about that. Just now I renewed the hosting for this site for the next year (it's due in December). Your contributions are appreciated. This site is maintained by an unemployed person.
Thanks.

what is the physical address?
to send a check?
see below
See below where someone asks how to donate via snail mail. (We can't).
If you follow that discussion, you'll see how to anonymously donate via PayPal. (no credit card required).
send a Christmas present to the PA Web site!
Please contribute to the PA Web site if you are financially able. It takes a lot to keep this site going - there is significant site maintenance along with fees for hosting, domain registration, and software (some of the scripts cost money). Even a $5 contribution helps.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

Just wondering-Are donations tax-deductible?
Not sure where to file the receipt... charity or other category...
The Hero's Code:

not tax deductible
I would tend to think not - I don't deduct what I put in the basket at 12-step meetings. Don't organizations need some sort of special tax status for contributions to be tax deductible? PA doesn't have that.

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
PA isn't tax-deductible, but other 12-Step groups are
I know for sure that AA, OA, and DA are tax-deductible,
b/c they're 530(C) (or whatever) organizations (i.e., nonprofit). I gather PA isn't.

hosting for Web site is paid for another year
I just paid the fee for hosting this Web site for another year. Thanks to those who contributed, and if you didn't, please consider it. Even $1/week or $5/week is very helpful. In addition to the hosting fees, there are fees for domain registration, and site maintenance is a cost, too. Thank you.

Hosting bill due Dec 6, contributing $1/week ($5/month) is GREAT
A couple of people have set up subscriptions for $5/month, and I want to say thank you. If enough people were doing this, the site would be paying for itself. That's all you'd be contributing for a meeting.
The hosting bill for this site is due on December 6th.

Any way to donate through snail mail?
Pro,
Most of my financial dealings are still by check, by postal service. Is there an address I can send a donation to?
Thanks!
Donation
I would like to put a banknote into an envelope and send it by post. I think to send money oversees via bank must be very expensive and difficult and the bank takes most of my donation. I procrastinate in donating if I have to go to a bank and explain something why I send money abroad. I do not know anything about any paypal.
How to donate via PayPal
PayPay explained ...
In English:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal
http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/ebay101/ss/paypal101.htm
In Finnish:
http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal
Once you've set up your arrangements with PayPal, then click on one of the links above (one-time or monthly) for contributions to this site.
A credit card is not required. If you read the explanation, it tells you how the finances work.
Regarding anonymity:
You can set up an email account to associate with your PayPal account. You could create a new email account that has no associations with your membership logon here.
Nobody will see your banking information, but it's possible that our website owner "Pro" will be able to see your real name on the online itemization Pro gets -- that shows Pro the amount of money received from each donor.
I believe that it would show your real name, the amount you've donated, and whatever email address you've associated with your PayPal account. It wouldn't show your "Procrastinators-Anonymous username".
If you want to be truly anonymous in donating, have your PayPal email address be different from the email address used for your P.A. username membership. Pro would then see your real name, but have no idea which P.A. member is donating.
Postal vs. PayPal
I know this sounds so old school, but I just don't like using PayPal. Is there no physical address to send a check?
Thanks,
Whiteduck.
cannot contribute by check
I'm not comfortable giving out my name and address, sorry.

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
PA name is anonymously hidden on PayPal
Note that when donating via PayPal, it doesn't say "Procrastinators Anonymous".
It says: "PA Web Services". That is to protect our anonymity on statements from banks and PayPal.
anonymous donation
how can i make an anonymous monetary donation?
donations
i think you can do it through paypal, but i don't know how anonymous it is: I think Pro may be able to see something, but I am not sure.
donations
Thanks so much for altering the website so that donations are a little more visible and easy to make. I've been meaning to contribute for a while now, and it feels good to finally set up a monthly deduction. Sorry I can't do more, but please know that I will give more when I can.
every little bit helps!
There's a huge difference between a small contribution and no contribution. Small contributions are great and that's what keeps the site going. So I thank you!!
I finally figured out how to reorder items on the front page (tweak the dates). That's how I was able to organize it better.

Anonymous!
Pro Any chance you could change the title as it appears on credit card statements to something more anonymous, like PA Web Services or something? I think it might be possible to put at least some of this through as a valid business expense, but if I have to put 'Procrastinators Anonymous' in my accounts it's no longer anonymous! (Of course it would still have to be declared if the details were requested, so some people might not want to go down this route anyway).
Sorry about the piffling amount too - I was too tired to go to a conversion rate site and I just put that amount in to see what exchange rate it came up with, but then I couldn't change it (I also don't know that it used the right card details - I've only ever used PayPal once before and it seems to have remembered the previous details. I got inundated with PayPal spoof spam since I signed up so I've tended to avoid it wherever possible).
Will try again when I've got some more dosh and more time.
done - contributions can be made with privacy now
I changed the name of the organization in PayPal from "Procrastinators Anonymous" to "PA Web Services", and you can fill in the payment description yourself.
THANK YOU Normy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are very sweet and wonderful to contribute to the site, no matter what the amount. And it was a fine amount anyway.
I can't change the organization name (Procrastinators Anonymous)because that's the name of the PayPal account. Changing the item name from procrastinators-anonymous.org to PA Web Services means finding all the places I linked to PayPal on the site and changing it in each link. That's do-able, though a pain, but it wouldn't help because the business name is in the PayPal notification no matter what. So I'm afraid I can't fix this, sorry!
Thanks Pro
Thanks for looking into it - just thought it might make people more willing to contribute if it could be more anonymous.
oh well
Unfortunately, that didn't occur to me, but I doubt it's the reason that people (except for you) haven't been rushing to help me with Web site fees. If people don't have to pay for something, generally they don't - I know that. I already put the money out for this site and I'm prepared to keep paying for it myself - for now, anyway.
It's the reason for me
It's definitely the reason I haven't done it yet. DH doesn't know and I don't want him to. We share all accounts and those we don't, he still has access to. The one account he doesn't have access to, he could still read the statement.
I can make it a legitimate business expense, but DH is a signatory on the business account and can see it whenever he logs on to internet banking. Maybe I can pretend I'm a mentor or it's for organising research something fake like that???!!!
okay - PayPal name changed
Turns out I didn't look hard enough. I was able to change the business name. Now I just need to change the item name in the links on the site. I'll post here when I've done that.
done
All links changed. You can fill in the item description yourself now. (I posted this in multiple places so people don't read the one place where I didn't post the change and think it's not changed.)
Cool, thanks.
Now I have no excuse, tho!!!
okay - I'd better try harder here
I should have thought of this - dumb. I'll write to PayPal and see if they'll let me change the organization name. Is "PA Web Services" okay for you?
