pro's last check-in - 11pm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
pro's CI - 10pm
I did as I wanted and watched a recording of the Daily Show and the Colbert Report, rather than working. Then I bought a book on amazon.com, and now it's time for bed. It's nearly impossible for me to work at home after being at my job all day.
I often procrastinate on getting ready for bed because I'm too tired to do it, but then, of course, I can't go to sleep if I'm not ready for bed. (There's something wrong with this procrastination logic.) I'm posting this message because my next move will be to get up from the computer and brush my teeth. I commit to this!
=D
Ooooooo, I love the Daily Show, the Colbert Report and buying books on Amazon!!! Can I come to YOUR house? ;)
bedtime tasks
Here's what I must do now (I'm still sitting at the computer):
1. Take my last dose of pills.
2. Brush my teeth.
3. Take out contacts.
4. Put on jammies.
I am doing this now!!
pro's CI - 10:55pm (all done)
I'm ready for bed (finally). Goodnight, all!
telling on myself
Just thought I'd check in to mention that I have not done #1 on this list yet - pills have not been swallowed. I've been procrastinating by picking up my apartment (of all things!). A half hour has passed. Okay - pills NOW.
Well, I did a fair amount of slacking today, but I'm still proud of myself  because I kept pulling back and starting to work again.  Usually, once I've started wasting time, that's the end of my productivity for the day.  So, I call today progress.
today
Okay, I can see this will be helpful. However, I think I commited to do too much for one evening.
  I have unpacked and put away the groceries, marinated supper, watered the plants, helped my son with his poetry, got in a waterfight with my kids, got distracted by the dog.... and actually glanced at my taxes.
From now... finish making dinner, get my son to finish his humanities homework, work for a half an hour on the taxes, write a rough draft for one section of the practicum and then good night routine.
KUDOS TO YOU!!!
Hey - the waterfight with the kids and being distracted by the dog are the most important things on your list, in my opinion. I didn't finish my list the other evening because my 18-year-old son and I got into a long discussion. I plan to cherish every moment that he's still home. He's my "baby" - the youngest of five! ;) =)
Plan for Today
P.E.D.L. -- Plan, execute, debrief, learn
OK... I missed the second alarm and slept an hour and a half later than I wanted to, but...
My plan for today:
Send out critical e-mails - Done!
Catch up week with client 1 within four hours
Catch up week with client 2 within two hours
Start straightening up around house for prep of company on Friday night
Reward:
-Play racquetball for an hour this evening
"You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments that stand out, the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love."
Debrief
I sent out the critcal e-mails.
Client #1 took six hours due to unforeseen additional workload.
I rescheduled for tomorrw with client 2.
I spent an additional 2 hours on client 3 issues.
I did not get started on cleaning my place, but I scheduled a cleaning lady to come over on Friday morning (still need to sraighten up).
I still rewarded myself by getting my butt kicked in racquetball. Cry
"Love is the most important ingredient of life.  Your life echoes emptiness without it.
With it, your life vibrates meaning and warmth.  Love will shine through even in hardship"
;)
"I still rewarded myself by getting my butt kicked in racquetball."
Chuckled when I read this; thanks for the laugh! =D
for today
or rather, for tonight....
put away groceries
help son with poetry assignment
make dinner
help son with humanities
exercise
help son with science fair
work on taxes
brush teeth
wash face
set out clothes for tomorrow
lilimissy checking in
it has been sometime since i checked in last.  i can not recall the last time
it is clear my rsistance is reaching maximun level.
lee is still hanging around awaiting 4 his claim to finalized.
with his same old compliants re: his $$$ issues; how he deserves everything.
just the other day whille online, he went to the restroom.
then i heard the water running; as i appoached the bathroom door; i calmly asked what r u
doing?  his reply was i am washing my hands. i said okay.
days later, for no apparent known reason, he says if k makes him mad all he'd have to do is pour the hand soap down the sink; or pull off the toliet paper and flush it.
i looked at him and said, that explains why the water was running full blast the other day when i asked u why about it.  he realized i was on to his schemes.
otherwise, you all have a blessed.
lilimissy checking out to check on lee!!!!
back, he is sitting on the deck reading a flyer, he had my book stuff in his bag.  i told him i'd go ahead & put the book up.  he made a face, holding back his coment.  last night i opened the freezer noticed lee's water bottle with dirt on it.  k said, throw the dirty bottle in the trash can.  later on, lee came in to get his water bottle.  he opened the freezer; no bottle; he quickly looked in the trash can; he took the water bottle out of the trash can; filled it up with water; put the same dirty bottle back in the freezer.  according to k, he told lee to get the dirty water bottle out of the freezer; lee took the water bottle out; poured the water in the sink splashing water all over the kitchen counter; tossed the water bottle back in the trash can.  i came in with some food from arby's i'd brought.  i sat the bag on the counter; noticing the flood of water. then k let me in on the what had occurred.  i made it clear to lee; he has no where to go until the $$$ arrives.  itold him straight up, if you live in rome, you do as the romans do.  or he'll find himself on the otherside of the front door.
i am waiting 4???????
okay, i guess that is enough of this triva 4 today.  if i am sick of it, surely others r 2.
Today:
laundry
wash dishes
mop kitchen floor
time to start working the above.
have a mark it off your list of a day.
8:15am CI for Lark
Hi everyone. I've been climbing from a big procrastination binge rut. I'm not a math whiz, but it seems to take at least twice the time to recover from one as the actual time period of causing it. Sometimes even longer.
Today:
(X)morning things
(X)do dishes
order supplies
take relative for tests
take her car to shop during
order cover for friend
swoop through house clean
sort clothing
work for half hour on work project A
get gasoline
make gameplan for work project B
check in here again
Amen to that..
I guess that phrase "one step ahead and two steps behind" is particularly true and agonizing for people who procrastinate, like us...
Oh, yes.
It seems to take at least twice the time to recover from one as the actual time period of causing it. Sometimes even longer.
I completely agree.
