journey 10 am *yawn* & updates

Ugh, I am so sleepy today!   I stayed up too late chatting online with friends who don't have to work today!   Unfortunately, I do not have a holiday today so now I am paying for my transgressions.   AND I did not work on my budget either which is what I planned on doing when I sat down at the computer in the first place.   I am used to getting plenty of sleep so today I am tired and grouchy.

Regardless, I do have work that I want to get done today.   Our management will probably send us home a bit early anyway to beat the holiday traffic so I should plan on getting as much done as possible and look forward to leaving a bit early.   That's the ticket!

I have been to the gym.  I was a few minutes late to work but not too bad considering that I overslept by 30 minutes.   I've read email, and checked my (empty) calendar.  I am making my todo list now and I will mindfully focus on my work and try to make the day go by quickly.   Some caffeine would probably be in order also.

I will check back periodically just to confirm that I am awake :)

Update 11 am.   I am awake.  I have my todo list and just got a nice lunch invitation.   I will completely 3 short admin type tasks before going to lunch.

Update 11:30.   I am still awake and I have completed the 3 admin tasks and I have 15 minutes before leaving for lunch.   I'll work on Project M.

Update 3 pm had a nice lunch with friends and made progress on Project M.  No longer feeling sleepy, thanks to the free refills of diet coke at lunch.   Now I'll work on Project O for an hour, then spend the rest of the afternoon doing 15 minutes each on small lower priority projects.

Working on prep  for research prog. update

Steppin check in

After a couple of ok weeks, I've hit one of those days. I've started on a diet which makes me cranky with sugar-cravings, my friend cancelled an appointment and I'm stressing a bit over some music I have to learn. Not anything horrible, just small things piling up.
Now I'll practice a bit, see how it goes and report back.

 3.21 pm update

Practice went fine

Got home, made good, healthy lunch and didn't surrender to my sugarcravings!

Now: Go for a walk, then do some housework

Finding a way CI

As it was the Good Friday holiday I had a really different day - no work at all (unless you count housework!)

  • Ate my breakfast in bed and read my novel
  • Went to church service
  • Looked at and replied to emails
  • Cooked hot cross buns
  • Made lunch
  • Rested
  • Spent time with my husband
  • Talked on the phone with my sister
  • Did an enormous pile of dishes
  • Ate hot cross buns
  • Planned a day out canoeing tomorrow
  • Made and ate dinner

These were all good things to do and I only had about 5 minutes where I gave myself a hard time about not doing 'backlog' jobs.

For those here who are taking an Easter break, I hope it is restful and inspiring.
