"Hope is a state of mind, not of the world.

Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, nor is it willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for success; but rather hope is an ability to work for something because it is good"

-- Václav Havel

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I am feeling good, but a little too good and relaxed, and need to Get With The Program today. I will try to keep updating my post. Thanks for being here, everyone!!!

pre-8am. Take puppy on walk & fed her breakfast. Go to coffee shop with friend, and have coffee to start day. Go to early morning Grocery store & get remaining ingredients for weekend meals.

8am. I take 1/2 of a 5-hour Energy Extra, log in PA, and turn on some music, and see if that will help.

9am. Dry cleaned dishes from dishwasher & put in cupboard. Take clean, dry clothes out of clothes dryer and put on top of dryer to put away later :0 Re-wash clothes in clothes washer, that had washed previously but had left in washer. After clothes wash cycle, put clean wet clothes in clothes dryer & turn on. Start another load of clothes in clothes washer. Empty & clean Surface #1 in kitchen: 1st wipe done. Start emptying Surface #2. Put dirty dishes in dishwasher & run Dishwasher. Take puppy on 9am dog walk.

11:45am. Have made so much progress, I'm not sure can list it all. Put next load of dried clothes on chair in bedroom to fold later. Put last load of clothes in clothes dryer. Emptied clean dishes from dishwasher, dried them & put in cupboard. Put 1st counter board in dishwasher to wash. Final, thorough cleaning of Surface #1. Cleaned sink with wet wipes, then gave it once-a-year Brillo scrub. Handwashed nonstick gingerbread trays in sink, dried, and put in storage cabinet until next year. Drank other 1/2 of 5 Hour Energy. Sorted through remaining clutter on counter area. All this while very kind friend was sweeping hardwood floor. [Can you believe a friend would be that nice? I feel very lucky!!!] Bagged up trash, including puppy pads. Took dog for another walk, and put 2 bags of trash in dumpster. Cleaned off plastic dining table & wiped with damp paper towel. Got freshly washed/dried tablecloth out of clothes dryer & put on table. Put decorative snowman in window. Called dad & made positive report on progress. Put jello boxes on cleaned counter, so won't forget to make this afternoon. I couldn't have made it this far without PA, so thanks so much! Hoping to give at least one more update this afternoon :)

3pm. Took puppy out for a walk. Got all boxes out of hiding, and wrapping paper. Wrapped 4 sets of boxes, plus 1-2 extra. Whew! Put 3rd counter board in dishwasher to wash. Final cleaning of Surfaces 2 & 3. Put cleanser in toliets to soak, while I update my post. Getting ready to call Dad & friend with update, but going to rest for a minute first. Whew!!! :)

Last task: to make jello salad. Does anybody see me making this right now? I don't. I think I will have to rest for a while, and maybe make it after dinner. Jello boxes are still on the clean counter to remind me.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I smell very stinky after all this!!! Will need to take a shower sometime, even if it waits until Sunday morning.

6pm. Still not wanting to make the jello salad. I may have run out of steam. Is it too early to take a nap now, then make jello salad around 9pm? That's taking a risk, but yes, I think I will have to try it that way. After my nap, I will try to ride the wave of energy to make the jello salad.

Good luck, everybody!!! :)

Check-In Sat. 24Dec2011

Check-In at 3:00 am

First, thanks to movingalong for posting the quotes from Václav Havel, who recently passed away. He was an inspirational figure for having the courage to make social commentary when it was risky, and then the additional courage to lead.

Today is the big last day before Christmas, and at the same time the end of the year is looming. I've got to balance:
- Christmas gift/card prep
- Chores in prep for Christmas
- Bills and other end-of-month, end-of-year business.

Some of the latter can (and will) be deferred after Christmas Day; mostly it's a judgement call what needs doing earlier vs. later.

Best wishes to all as you prep for -and enjoy -  the holidays!
