Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
Okay. Worked on 15 cases yesterday. I am very happy with that. Still left work after 11 PM and went to bed after 1 AM. Goals today are to be just as productive but get out of here earlier.
Goal 1: No more email or internet news until 9 P. Have already been to that trough for 1.5 hours this morning. The time online just flies, with nothing to show for it. Sheesh.
Goal 1: 11 A - 1:30 P: 4 x 30 min work blocks (always lose a few minutes here and there, so added 30 minutes of "buffer")
Goal 2: 1:30 - 2 P: 30 min lunch
Goal 3: 2 - 6:30 P: 7 x 30 min work blocks (again, a little "buffer" added)
Goal 4: 6:30 - 7 P: 30 min dinner
Goal 5: 7 - 9 P: 3 x 30 min work blocks on overdue stuff (trying again)
Goal 6: 9 - 9:30 P: 30 min administrative
Goal 7: 9:30 P: out the door, please! (pleading with myself)
Goal 7: 11:30 P: To bed
Still pretty regimented, but with a little slack built in for delays. If I can follow it, should "touch" 14 cases for up to 30 minutes each. That's a pretty reasonable and productive day, I think. Back to report.
Thanks for the kick-off, lennon. And thanks to everybody who reads and posts here. This faceless, nameless digital community has helped me a lot over the past year or so and I very much appreciate each and every one of you.
I didn't do as well as I'd like on getting everything done yesterday. But I did okay, or at least somewhat better than total collapse. Since total collapse has sometimes been my default tactic in the past, I'm reasonably pleased about that.
Today I face a pretty active day with an out of the office meeting, a couple of rewrites and some major projects to urge along. Pressure is ratcheting up on a couple of the majors. I also have the nearly ever-present financial issues to deal with. Estimated tax payments are due today and I'm a little short. But, I do have *some* money to send in, which is better than it was last quarter. And I'm keeping my debts from growing and managing to find at least some paying work, so disaster has not yet struck despite a very serious problem with clients refusing to pay.
Anyway, I'm hanging in there, still trying. Hope all are well.
*Go to training mtg
*Evaluate slides
*Finish intro figs (very close to done with this)
*Start MK figs
*Check, cf, finish cm (will do this soon)
*Plan for pos. control

Let's call it a day. Not everything on the list achieved, but there's visible progress. So for the time being, I'm content.
