Procrastinated away from here!

I am hopeless!  But today I want to finish the bank recon for BYE AND get desriptions and summary of the French factor for BYE.

It is my hubby's birthday so I want to leave around 5 - let's see how much I can get done!

Good luch and good day to ALL!

TJ

not great but not bad

didn't get everything done as I wanted to but I didn't get sidetracked from the project so that counts as good.

Going home for hubby birthday now!

I'm finding it somewhat helpful to hang out in chat, here, especially when other folks are around and posting. I really like the feeling that I'm actively in the company of people who understand the lure of procrastination but are choosing to get things done! So, THANK YOU to anyone who chatted Friday or yesterday, and to everyone who has made it possible to post and chat at this site! I like today's flower photo, too. :-)

TODAY:

As part of nourishing and rebuilding my personal integrity, I commit to:

* Postponing any consumption of fiction until after 18:00 *and* 20 minutes of kitchen work
* Before 18:00, doing at least 30 minutes of job work before doing any of the following as a reward:
Checking personal email
Taking photos (timed 15min max)
Changing or uploading photos as a reward
Coloring (and after coloring one item, I will do at least another 30 minutes of job work before coloring again)

-----------------------------------------------------------

In addition, TODAY, I will:

check and post at SR
post this at PA

check balance mindmap

send !reminder email to reviewers
continue refresh research
check last status report: other tasks? (took a quick look)

change towel

Ugh factor

Yesterday's goals looked really good, but it didn't turn out as hoped; that is, I didn't get it done.

Goal 1: Work on Friday presentation 8 x 30 minute blocks Actual: 3 x 30; lot of time spent looking for scattered things I needed to get started on presentation

Goal 2: Work on 8 cases for 30 minutes maximum at a time Actual: 5 cases, and not limited to 30 minutes; slow and inefficient, with lots of worried online checks of weather.com

Goal 3: Leave at 8 PM. Actual: Um, 11:30 PM.

Goal 4: Go to the supermarket, buy a few gallons of water, a couple of
days' worth of nonperishable food items to stock the pantry, just in
case. (Tomorrow I also will pack a bag, since I am in a potential
evacuation zone.) Actual: Nope. Really need to do this today. In truth, this is a new situation for me, never having lived near the coast. Not even sure at this point what the storm will do. But my worrying skills always exceed my preparation skills, which adds to my worrying rather than to my preparation.

Goal 5: Personal time 9 to 11 PM. Actual: More like midnight to 2 AM.

Goal 6: To bed at 11 PM. Actual: 2 AM

So, today is another day. And sometimes things work better on the second try. It's my personal version of the movie, "Groundhog Day".

Goal 1: Work on Friday presentation 8 x 30 minute blocks

Goal 2: Work on 8 cases for 30 minutes maximum at a time

Goal 3: Leave at 8 PM

Goal 4: Go to the supermarket, buy a few gallons of water, a couple of
days' worth of nonperishable food items to stock the pantry, just in
case.

Goal 5: Personal time 9 to 11 PM.

Goal 6: To bed at 11 PM. With our without personal time. I need to sleep! It's Tuesday and I am already tired.

Back to report.

Thanks, studentessa. I'm trying to figure out a way to stop having to post here every day, and instead rely on a daily schedule of tasks prepared for my eyes only in Outlook. I've been doing this daily check-in for over a year, and it's working reasonably well, but I'd like to  move on. Of course, if not posting here doesn't work, I'll return to this method. For the moment, all I'm going to do is make sure I do plan carefully using Outlook, while also posting here. Depending on how I feel about that, I'll try skipping a day here and see how it does. For now...

Plans of the day!

We had a thunderstorm on friday, ruining my Laptop and my modem, so I was without Internet since then. ::jawdrop:: It was a blessing in disguise, because I was able to work more without any distractions. It seems to take lightning to get me working!

So back with my plans:

Work on my paper
Vaccuum
Bring out rubbish
Preboil dinner

Fairly few things to do, you'd think.
