Hi everyone,

Been checking in at a class 3 times a week at 6 am, so haven't been posting my check-ins.

 

Here's a reading for today:

"When the pupil is ready, the teacher appears." Life's lessons often come
unexpectedly. They come, nevertheless, and they come according to a
timeframe that is Divine. As we grow emotionally and spiritually, we are
readied for further lessons for which teachers will appear. Perhaps the
teacher will be a loving relationship, a difficult loss, or a truant
child. The time of learning is seldom free from pain and questioning.
But from these experiences and what they can teach us, we are ready to
learn. As we are ready, they come.

We all enjoy the easy times when the sailing is smooth, when all is well, when we are feeling no
pain. And these periods serve a purpose. They shore us up for the
lessons which carry us to a stronger recovery, to a stronger sense of
ourselves. To understand that all is well, throughout the learning
process, is the basic lesson we need to learn. All is well. The teacher
is the guide up the next rung of the ladder.

Let me be grateful for my lessons today and know that all is well.

Happy Friday!   I'm late checking in but doing ok.  Yesterday turned out all right too once I put the bad day behind me and faced forward.   Today is the retiree's last day so we had yet another long lunch.   This has been a week of parties!

I have watched the royal wedding, been to the gym, done email and todo list and attended a meeting.  I was 30 minutes late to work because of the wedding but I figure what the heck how often does that happen?!   The afternoon will be divided between my two major projects.

I wonder what people think when I don't finish my whole to-do list or post anything particularly insightful for a whole week? lol. Seriously this is getting embarrassing!

Though I DID e-mail my advisor (only took a week lol)

I never knew you did not get your list done. I get tired reading people's to do lists, much less worry or care if they got them done. I can't even remember my list from day to day much less anyone else's.

In OA, everone as their own plan of eating, we do not compare or judge. What works for me may not work for someone else. As with my food, the most important aspect of the program is consistency and maintainence- a way of life. I always could succeed, but I could not maintain.The "star/stop/on off/ way of life does not work for me. I was always thinking of a food plan, etc. Now, one day at a time I found a way to live and food is no longer a problem. One day at a time.

That is why the showing up is so important to me, it is the minimal maintenence in this program.  . I don't know if this makes any sense, but if I did not have my "showing up consistency" on PA, I would not even think of owning a dog. After some time in PA, with the showing up consistency, I have the best dog in the world, I just love and enjoy her, when the master is ready, the dog appears.

I am striving to live without the resistence, fears, sabatoge, disorganization, lateness, lost opportunities,etc. a way of life, that fits into the flow of life. It feels like a impossible fantasy, but so did other things.

That's really awesome PA did all those things to you!

Idk, I have been missing the mark alot lately. It's frustrating because I *am* trying, but I'm at my physical limit. And now with a transfer application, I have another extra *thing* to deal with.

I appreciate the thoughts, even though I can't form a coherent response right now! lol

I respect you for having the courage to post your whole todo list. I'm aware that often I don't as I am afraid that I won't finish it so I try to make things easy for myself by asking too little of myself.

Although I really do kind of do this because people can see. I feel accountable. I want to cross everything off so people can be like "daaamn katia PWNd today" LOL!

And Rex, I never even though of that! I appreciate the respect, though I also do it because if I don't I *will* forget (esp with a small one)and it's great I can access my list with any computer.

You are doing the equivalent of two full-time jobs being a student and a single mother - it must be huge! I have only ever done one of these at a time and that was hard enough. I really admire your persistence and hope that your efforts in transferring will make life a bit easier for you in the long run. Smile

a disabling attack of procrastination today - hardly anything done at all.  The only positive was that I did get out for some exercise this afternoon.  Every time I look at the list, I just think "I can't face doing any of that".

  • No Internet chat, aside from employment or twelve-step.  This
    includes not stalking people on AIM or other chat networks, whom I've
    tried to date in the past. (I'm on day 30 of this.)
  • 56 days of exercise (I'm on day 1 of this).

I want to thank my Higher Power for this program, this website, the telephone and online meetings, and my life.
