Edge's CI - 12:13am

Feeling positive right now, got a good deal done at work and brought some work home with me, but it's easy stuff and I know I can do it so no sweat there :)

Priorities for now:
x finish proofing all docs
x send docs to work email
x hmed1
x hmed2
- prep what to wear tomorrow
- fh

Keeping it light for now. Might add stuff if I feel things are going well.

Also, I've discovered that 35% of my day is spent wasting time reading manga (the other 60% is spent at the office <_<), so going to block manga for a while and see how that goes.

Yesterday I was really paralyzed, but thanks to PA I managed to pull myself together and get some good work done.

Today I'd like to focus most of my effort on expts: confirming genotyping (mostly done, but had a small expt. failure so I'll have to do a little more tomorrow), expt mgmt. (didn't get a chance to do this), and trying out 2-3 techniques for sem tubule sep (and documenting the results) (still have a little work to do on doc).

I'd also like to do some more work getting ready for my thesis proposal.
*Email people to ask for their thesis proposals
*1 hr reading on Aal transition (my goal today is *not* to write or come up with specific expt ideas; rather, it's to work on becoming an expert on this. Some things I can read about: potential change, d., ck., jsd.

That's probably about all I'll have time for today, since I'm going out to dinner and to a play with my brother tonight. If I have extra time I might call IA, call home, read RNA-seq paper and/or post list.

OK, going to do first step of genotyping now.

Well, I've posted check-ins for the last 2 days, but then never reported back!  The last 2 days have been very good. I usually had too long a list, but I worked pretty consistently on the most important things.

My plan for today:

DONE: prayer

DONE: scripture study

DONE: help clean MH

DONE: finish bills

HP work

vacuum house

Lefkoe work

DONE: practice vc

Lesson learned the last few days:  I need to plan "rewards" (purely pleasurable non-urgent, non-important activities such as certain book reading or 30 min of TV-watching, or whatever) into my day.  Otherwise, at the end of a productive day of non-stop work, I will tend to waste time with too long a session of TV-watching--like 1-2 hours, to "relax and unwind."

MD check-in

Probably one of my lightest days--by design (and need)

MORN -- get family to airport (supposed to awake 4:30 but flight delayed so slept a bit). DONE Update everyone & my own phone/text on automated flight notification (pretty cool new technique) DONE. Confirm BBQ time with buddy. DONE. Contact 2 pm meeting person to change to 11:30. DONE (moved-Sun.)Get directions/thoughts on afternoon support group. DONE. Offer support to PA buddy on thesis. DONE. Quick emails. DONE. Do calendar plan Leave by 11.

Open up the unpaid bill for tickets which caused grief for last 2 wks. I expect I will be continuing this procrastination but I will make an attempt & try to face it. DID NOT DO THIS.

AFTN/EVE -- socializing & support group/early dinnerDONE; find realtor info for Sunday!

Good luck all

Journey 9:30

Good morning!  I slept a lot last night and feel more rested today.   I have a lot to do today; housework, groceries, cooking, and job work.  I'm going now to make a reasonable todo list with some down time included.

Journey 9:45

Here is my list:

  • Yoga
  • Quiet Time
  • Grocery List
  • Visit Mom
  • Library
  • Grocery Store
  • Put away groceries
  • Straighten bedroom
  • 10 minutes of filing
  • Take vitamins
  • Vacuum bedroom
  • Straighten living room
  • Download new browser
  • dinner
  • dishes
  • find info to sell textbook for A
  • look for lost item - 10 minutes max
  • work - 3 servers - ~ 2 hours?

That's about 12 hours and includes about 3 hours of fun and relaxing stuff (library, mom, yoga).   May be a bit ambitious for a saturday, but we'll give it a shot, eh?   Here goes.  I printed out the list so I'll be checking off on paper, so I probably won't check in again until tomorrow, so have a productive and enjoyable day everyone!

  Show up (done)

Because someone in PA reached out, by the grace of God, I was succeeded in making my phone call, not losing air line tickets in last years disaster, scheduled a place with our time shae. It was painful, emotional but I got it done because this person offered support.

I too would like to offer one one one support for anyone who has a specific issue to work through. Click on my name below to send an e-mail.

Thank you pa friends: Big Book states:"If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
