Checked emails
Made decision to go abroad for a while and booked air ticket and insurance and downloaded visa forms
Wondered if I had done the right thing
Dealt with post
Spent time writing an email to friend

Todo:

Tidy up kitchen
A bit of action on travel abroad

Scribbler: Checkin and Wreckin

Planning to destroy my to-do list today. Well, maybe. Lot of question marks. I still have three boys still asleep after a very late night playing video games. Have to get them back home at some point. Have a new assignment with a short deadline to get underway, and I have to do something about this poison ivy. I tried a highly recommended over the counter remedy last night, with no discernible effect. So maybe a doc-in-the-box today for a steroid shot. Anyway:

Prep

  • Get up before 7 (missed this again; stayed up too
    late last night)
  • Coffee, paper
  • Take supplements
  • Water plants
  • Checkins

Morning

  • Send query
  • Add 5 to CP db
  • Add 5 to music db
  • Email 5 re: music
  • Reply to Carousel, Held
  • Do Masters10 interviews at 10
  • D/o boys at 11

Afternoon

  • Healthy lunch
  • Check on bank acount
  • Call 3 on deadbiz article
  • Get doc-in-the-box to look at poison ivy (?) (holding off for now, see if other remedies work)
  • Do 4 on CIO
  • Exercise - weight lifting
  • Send Darter refi info

Evening

  • P/U kids at 5
  • Have fun w/kids
  • Music - find music for Leon and GL songs
  • Practice set list
  • Bed by 11

Journey 9 am & update!

Drove my mom's old car this morning since mine's in the shop.   96 Crown Vic.  It's a sweet ride.

I seem to be getting a slow start this morning . . . I'm feeling sorta vague and spacey this morning.  (evidenced by posting this on yesterday's thread to start with!) *snaps out of it*.  Back with todo list shortly.

WOOT!  Just logged on to NEXTMD to get the results of yesterday's chest X-ray, and no more pnuemonia!  Back to the gym on Monday . . of course I'll take it slow to start with.

Journey 10:30 & updates & co

Wow, I'm quite slow today.   Maybe I did goof a *little*, reading the news online and stuff, but I've pretty much been working for 2 hours here, just not getting alot done!  Maybe a second cuppa coffee would be in order today.  Anyway, here's my list!

  • Help T with server problem
  • Planning
  • Reset pw - 5 minutes
  • Ask L for help with P - I *hate* asking for help! - ~ 1 hour?
  • Do requests for E - 2 hours
  • Do E on the test system - 1 hour
  • Prepare E on system X - 1 hour
  • Time Sheet
  • Email D about P next weekend
  • Emails from J & voice mail from s - figure out what I need to on Monday
  • Project V - research outstanding problem with G - ~ 30 minutes?
  • Vitamins - 5 minutes
  • Quiet time - 10 minutes
  • Budget tracking - 5 minutes
  • Filing - 5 minutes
  • Reminder email to B about R - and send examples - 30 minutes
  • Project V - work on D downloads if time
  • Commute & Pick up dinner - 1.5 hours
  • No chores tonight, it's friday night! - 0!

All right, I'll reset my passwords, then go for coffee and when I come back I WILL call L and ask for help with P.   I do not want to do this.  I hate asking for help.   I hate making phone calls.   But I WILL do it and I'll report back when it's done. Undecided

8)  I did it!  I have an appointment with him at 2:30, which will require another phone call but I'm committed now!

UPDATE 5:35 not too bad today

Show up (done) Loved the starter, so friendly, makes me "want to show up"

Read a good definition of the word "responsibility" . That word is not one I use for myself because it brings up too much shame. I use he word consitency instead of disipline.  I do not have a sustitute for the R word, however by daily showing up I am definitely regaining my ability to respond.

"In order to turn your issues around, you have to take RESPONSIBILITY.

What does it REALLY mean to be responsible? A person who is responsible has the ABILITY to
RESPOND. In other words, if you take
response-ability for your procratination, then yourday is not determined solely by what
happens; it's also determined by how you RESPOND to what happens.
A responsible person is not a victim to their
circumstances.
How you respond to circumstances today WILL determine your circumstances tomorrow. Youcan turn sour grapes into a fine wine. Progress not perfection. I am not where I want to be but I am not where I was.

Viktor Frankl

that reminds me of what Viktor Frankl is famous for writing. He survived the nazi concentration camps and witnessed the worst of what human kind has to offer, but also, at times, the best of what human kind has to offer.

And he wrote that other people can take a great deal from you, but they can never take away your choice of how to respond.
