What would Snoopy's to-do list look like?

- - - - - - - - -

To Do:

  1. Practice dance steps for Suppertime Dance of Joy.
  2. Drink plenty of water.
  3. Make plans for World War I Flying Ace reunion.
  4. Arrange maintenance appointment for Sopwith Camel.
  5. Call my brother Spike and ask about the cactus.
  6. Clean birdbath for Woodstock.
  7. Clean doghouse.
  8. Steal Linus' blanket.
  9. Practice my Joe Cool moves.
  10. Lie on roof.
  11. Carry empty bowl to C. Brown.
  12. Rewrite chapter 17 of my novel "It was a dark and stormy night".

- - -

Hmmmmmm

You'll note that because it's ME imagining that I'm writing his to-do list, I have Snoopy put "rewriting the chapter" at the very END of his list.

Ha ha!

Perhaps it would be better for him to intersperse several little bursts of writing in between the other tasks?

I bet that, if he himself were writing the list, he'd not feel the anxiety, and he'd just embrace the writing task with joy.

PE 8pm

I have a few more things I want to do tonight

BTW What came first-the chicken or the egg...translates to this question in my world

What came first the disorganization or the procrastination?

Not sure, but I am always looking for things I put things off because I can't find them...I become disorganized because I put things off and on and on....

I really lost something this time that is costing me alot of time and effort and I kick myself for not putting it a place that would make sense...since I didn't i think I may have tossed it by accident-uggh

So, tonight

1look a little more

2. confirm work sched. for tomorrow

3.  finish reports that are absolutely due tomorrow

Forgive self for the billion mistakes that I have been making lately:)

OHH -my brain makes me wonder!  Still can't find it and prob. wont.  I do the most absent minded things!  I once lost my license because I filed it as a book marker in a book on the book shelf.  Why I do these things-I don't know.  I am going back to my trusty law of attraction tactics-haven't been too successful in the past, but maybe now is my time.  May the forces of the law of attraction be with me!

Agnus 11:40am

Busting myself - I started the day wrestling with someone else's dis-ease, then nursed an unrelated resentment that has sent me into a fit of procrastination since 9am. aagh.  Enough. I just fired off an email about it. That may make the situation worse, but my feelings are really hurt and I've got to get past this and get to work.

    Show up (done)

Good meeting on "hope" at am phone meeting.

Kind of going into a emotional/dry drunk thinking mode. Not good. I don't know if I have hope, but in all my years of 12 step programs, I have learned one thing, I may lose everything, including hope, but there is one think I can never lose, and no one can take away from me (not any more), that is :"choice" Without the 12 step programs, I lost choice, but I never want to lose it again, but I can only keep it by staying on my knees and in the rooms. This site is my only reliable connection to the program right now. Thank you for being here.

    Journey and Movingalong are inspirations

Journey - great job on getting all of your todo's done yesterday. You're an inspiration to me today!

Movingalong - thanks for the reminder to mindfully and joyfully prepare ourselves for success. Smile

    Thanks CB :)

I'm kinda proud of my own self

'I'm going to put a smile on my face, put forth a good effort, and be better today than I was yesterday.' - Huma

    Crazybug 9:55 CI

Determined to have a better day today than yesterday. Have gotten quite a few things done this morning already. Instead of beating myself up for stumbling yesterday I've decided that maybe I just need to be kinder to myself so am setting up a reward system today for every 25 minute stretch that I work. It may reduce my overall *potential* productivity for the day, but I think will help my *realistic* productivity to get me out of this funk I'm in.  Thanks again to everyone on this board for your incredible support and understanding!!!

    Todays list:

    • Work on one prototype (25 min)
    • Work on reading and editing article (25 min)
    • RD f  (2x25min)
    • Go over migration progress (25 min)
    • email r for link
    • package and call for pickup
    • file and mail bf 12pm

Tasks 1-3 are amorphous which causes major procrastination for me, so I'm just going to go for progress today and not completion.

    Journey 9:30 - It's a good day already because:

Two people *older than me* signed up to the site lol.   I feel like the grandma of PA sometimes, I thought by the time I reached the ripe old age of 50 I would have everything figured out, eh?   Now I'm watching 60 come over the horizon and still every day is a challenge.   I guess that's how it's supposed to be *sigh*.    (Right, Rex?:))

Well, off to the challenge that is today.   I was early to work again today, yay me, and yesterday I completed every item on my todo list, yay me again.  Today:

First, get phone call and email stuff out of the way, then break down the big Project V task into bite-sized chunks.

    Hugs to Jo!

I am so inspired that you and other members of the site work on improving your lives every day.  It seems to me that it is precisely THAT which keeps us all young.  It's also the reason we were put here in the first place--to keep learning and working to make things better. *hugs*

    Thanks Kitty!

Yeah, I guess when you get everything figured out it will be time to move to the next level!

  • Exactly!!

Couldn't have said it any better than that :)

Movingalong considers possibility of embracing tasks with joy.

    Hello all.

Good morning. It's Tuesday. And I'm posting.

What if I actually changed my attitude today?

    Perhaps I will try that.

Step 6: Being ready to let go of my shortcomings, especially fear. Becoming ready for a joyful life.

Step 7: Asking higher power to remove my shortcomings. Opening to joy.

    -- movingalong

    Thank you Moving!!

This is hilarious.  And strangely so inspiring.  Snoopy keeps working away at his typewriter, for years, without any problem at all!  I loved logging into this post :)
