UGH. Since I finished the big "E." I can't seem to get myself to do anything else. It's even hard to get myself to THINK about what I need to do.

Well, my days are improving immensly between posting in the morning and checking in through the day. Now I need to start working on my evenings. Perhaps just writing them down for all to see will make me a little more accountable.
plan meals for week
play with DS
Clean bathroom and vacuum upstairs
make bed upstairs
Laundry
start thank you notes
go for walk with dog (most important!)
I have some other things I want accomplished but I think that they will be too much to accomplish.
I am here and with my HP's help I am willing to work on household tasks this afternoon. (I do 15 minute bursts, followed by a 15 minute break. It seems to work.)
I had a doctor's appointment this morning and just got to work half an hour ago. . . so, now I'm going to lunch! I'll be back in an hour or so with a todolist for the afternoon <grin>.
Update 1:30 - here's my todo list:
Gym
Dr. appt.
Stop by HD
Check pressure in tires
email
todo list
Project V - System 2 - ~ 2 hours
Call J about Project G - ~ 30 minutes
Project G - continue planning - ~ 1 hour (actually got past planning and started doing the actual work)
Calorie King - 10 minutes
Check balance - $$ for prescriptions - 10 minutes
Scary SSA form - just START the cover letter - 5 minutes (I finished the cover letter in like 3 minutes - why do I agonize over these simple things lol)
commute
PIck up prescriptions
dishes (DD is cooking dinner)
Update 4:40 - it's interesting that I was about to write that I hadn't worked very hard this afternoon, but that's not true, I worked for 2 hours on Project V, but I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked because I ran into an obstacle. BUT, what I said I was going to do was work on that project for 2 hours and I did that, so yay. a little perfectionism creeping in, causing me to feel bad even though I did what I said would do. Food for thought. N E way, on to Project G for the remainder of the afternoon. I only have about 45 minutes left, as I am still committed to leaving on time, even though I came in late. Hey I should really leave early to make up for coming in late, eh?
Update 5:36 did all the work tasks on my list, leaving only 6 minutes late. Now just to make it home, eat dinner, and do the dishes, and the rest of the evening is free. No classes at the gym in the morning so I'll decide whether to swim or do something else in the morning and I can get dressed then for whatever I feel like doing. <waves>

Done:
Up late prayer and reflection
Washed up and tidyied up
Checked emails and post
Bath and hair etc

Final check on what I'm intending to speak about this evening
Get dressed and readly and go
Attend meeting and get home afterwards
Hi, folks. Thanks to those who described challenging days yesterday. I had one myself. But, that was then. This is now. Onward:
EARLY MORNING PREP
Get up before 7, coffee, breakfast, paper, water plant (1 hour)
checkins (30 mins)
MORNING
Query (1 hr)
Add 10 to CP db (1 hr) (out of time after 6)
Call 2 re: safekey (1 hr)
AFTERNOON
Deliver meals (2 hours)
Do 3 on CIO (3 hrs) (finished one, started two)
EVENING
Dinner w/Kids (3.5 hrs)
Install GFI (1 hr)
Read, relax (1 hr)
Bed by 11 p.m 15 minutes late
That adds up to 15 hours, which sounds tight to me. However, those are large chunks of time, averaging about 1.5 hours,, so I have some built-in slop. I'd like to work in a walk or short run. We'll see how it goes. Hope all are well and getting better. Scribbler
Checkout: Didn't get any exercise in, didn't get my chore done and didn't get as much done on CIO or safekey as planned. It's a good idea not to over-scheduled, becuase the postiive jolt from checking everything off can easily carry into the next day and provide excellent motivation. I'll try to do it smarter tomorrow. Now I'm 15 minutes late for bed. 'Night all. Scribbler.
Yesterday I had a big experiment totally fail, which was kind of disheartening. But, everyone fails some times, the important thing is to pick myself back up.
Picking myself up from expt. failure:
*Carefully document what I did
*Talk to people in the lab about possible sources of error
*Clean up my bench
*Look for possible sources of error/ways to validate (on seqanswers forum) [working on this now]
*Email AR for more advice
*Call Illumina to ask about missing reagent, decide whether to order more supplies
And then some more things to keep moving forward on
*Send samples for histology
*Print out deacon list
*Take care of expts
*Make schedule for the week, get books and articles for trip
*Pack for trip
*Take care of garden
And I have some scheduled things as well: mtg 10-12, seminar 12-1
OK, right now I'm going to look on seqanswers forum...that will probably take up until the mtg.
Didn't get nearly as far yesterday as I had hoped. Ran into quite a few snags in what I thought would be easy tasks. Also didn't get to personal/home tasks last night as I was laying on the floor nursing my back to prevent a full blown back issue. I think it helped and it was fun to do nothing but read all evening. But I have a bunch of things to get done tonight. Anywho, that was yesterday...this is today.

Started the day off pretty well today compared to usual.
I am here to commit to sitting and writing reports. But- need to say that I have to prioritize other stuff too. My family left for vacation on Fri. I should have been doing reports, but instead began a crazy do it yourself marathon. Then I sent invitations for my son's birthday (productive reight?) NO- I overlooked the fact that I planned it on father's day! Now what do I do? uggh-I could send out a second wave of invites-but have been putting it off in fear that it is too confusing
This morning is completely scheduled, so no problem to keep working; the challenge will be this afternoon!
My 9am appointment was cancelled, so I'll have to do the work scheduled for that meeting on my own :-(. One additional task for the list:
overview E-mgt
Phew! Only the kitchen floor left! AND I managed to clear some tasks that I had scheduled for later this week 8). Now imagine what I could have accomplished if I hadn't procrastinated for two hours after lunch
