fudo_shin: Four Days!!!! (6:18pm)

No advice, please.  Thank you.

__________________________________________________________________

I've made it to four days avoiding the following:

  • social networking sites, including facebook, twitter, youtube
  • dating sites
  • chatting sites: woome, chat with a stranger, etc.  I cannot be on a
chatting site.  MMORPGs count as "chat sites".  IRC.  The only
    exception is 12 step-related chat.
  • chat programs
  • MMORPGs
  • YouTube, Google videos, Crackle
  • SayNow.com, and calling anyone's associated fan line

Thus far, I have accomplished a lot today.  I communicated with my car company to get a new mailing of the form.  I spoke to my phone company.  Apparently they fixed the order so I'll get the phone tomorrow.  I was ON TIME for my appointment with the recruiters today.  I pray that the company calls me in for a preliminary technical interview and then a second technical interview, if necessary, b/c I WANT this job.  Really want this job.  I know this is the job for me.  I am willing to do whatever it takes; and I'm going to review my C++ as much as possible this week, including taking tests on websites whenever possible.  I need to do the following still:

  • schedule a place and time to meet with friend for food money
  • contact department vice chair to see how to make myself classified as not "conditional"
  • accept my acceptance to the university, apply for a waiver for the 150 USD fee
  • do my run/walk program
  • clip my nails
  • reread my feminist rebellion paper and write notes
  • write thank-you note to both the recruiters I spoke to today
  • brush my teeth, floss, use mouthwash and a periodontic brush
  • Take a shower before bed tonight

If-- I don't accomplish everything on the list for whatever reason, I am going to accomplish those last two things.  Self-care is a non-negotiable.  I need to make those commitments to self regarding my schoolwork and exercise non-negotiables as well, but I have to start somewhere.

Great!

FINUSHED LAST WED'S LIST!!!

byGodsGrace todays CI

Late CI because no internet again - maybe a good sign that i need to move when my lease is up if they don't fix this!  Working well - a bit frenzied - it would be that way even if I was early/on time but of course I am playing catch up on some jobs and have made it worse for myself... but it will turn out ok and it's not as bad as past deadlines, just too many at one time!

CI again later :)

Happy overcoming all!!

Recycler CI 4:15pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

This morning I dropped off the car at the repair place, then showered at the gym & got ready for work.

At the office I worked on planned projects. At lunchtime I ate the food that I brought, then made rental car plans for after my plane trip this week. In the afternoon I worked on new incoming projects. Next: after work I will get the loaner car from the car repair place. I'll stop by the condo, change clothes and eat dinner. Tonight I have the meeting with my other 12-step group, then hope to go out with my sponsor afterward for a soft drink.

9:50pm. Still some bizarre stuff going on. I did go to the meeting and talk to my sponsor afterward, though. ((sigh)) Tomorrow is another day. Talk to you later!

10:45pm. I'm still awake. ((sigh)). I'm going to read something inspirational. Talk to you later.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

re: first day using checkins

Good for you, Justdoit!!

Although I must confess it took me a moment to figure out what the "asses at end of day" were.  I was thinking it must be a meeting with your bosses this afternoon or something! })

Oooops....I meant

Oooops....I meant assess....not asses....amazing what one letter difference makes.  // This tool is good but I find I'm doing things that I didn't plan on or the 'one' phone call that I needed to make turns into 2 or 3.  // Thanks.  I hope to build a good support group here to learn from.  JDI

re: ooops

Ha ha that made me laugh all day!

Planning accurately is one of the things I struggle with also.  And sometimes, you just have to make an on-the-spot decision that it's better to keep going on Task A instead of doing Task B like you planned.   What I used to do is consider those "Task Bs" as "not done" and carry them over to the next day, but then I felt like I didn't get enough work done.

What I'm learning to do now is cross those items off the list and mark them as "subsituted Task A here" or something.  It's all semantics but it really helps me to stay motivitated when I see that what I did accomplish.

Hi group!  I was able to accomplish a lot this morning on the home front. Now it's time to buckle down to some work MITs:

  • call BH re repro+
  • wkly update
  • 1 hour on outreach calls
  • mn est
  • address lists (mom, aps)
  • cover ltr
  • comm invoice
  • 1 hour backlogged reading
  • 1 hour clearing bills basket
  • Hope everyone enjoys a great procrastin-abstinent day!  :-)

e's too early Monday

It is rainy this morning, the kind of day it would be nice to stay in bed all day through, but we woke up to the sounds of what we thought were garbage trucks, but turned out to be the sounds of our cars being towed for street cleaning. Of course, we discovered this when my husband was off to drop off my son and go to an interview, so life got hectic quite quickly. It all worked out, despite the $90 per car tow, and the $31 per car ticket, so first thing on the agenda is to set a reminder in my phone about street cleaning days!

12:49. that is done. phew.

next: five minutes in each room to put things away
setting timer for 25 minutes

okay, only 10 minutes, but I did finish the dishes and straighten the kitchen. As G is studying, it would be best if I could be more quiet for a while. the paperwork on the dining room table needs attention: perhaps a hot spot drill is in order. but, quiet work for a half an hour would be good. turning on television and hot spotting in 10 minute intervals....

I'm doing pretty well today.

Right now, I need to do some work on the QTL project. I'm a little stuck for how to start with this, so here are some first steps:
*Figure out which mouse strains have SNP data available, make table (working on this now)
*See if there is SNP data available for bandicoot, sherman, s-d, wistar, c3h, swiss-white
*Add strain info to table (working on this now)
*Try to figure out how to quantify genetic variation (have some ideas on this)

I will check back here when I've finished the table of strains w/ available SNP data

Journey 9 am

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm feeling tired, partly from my little virus last week and partly from the party yesterday, so I'm going to plan a non-intense day, and leave here at a reasonable time today.

I've been to the gym (although I took it easy today), read email, checked calendar.  Now I'm going for coffee and yogurt, then making a reasonable and doable todo list for the day.

Today is a bit of a struggle and I'm slow and easily distracted, but I can get through the next couple of hours, right?

Monday checkin mj

continue on room - 3 15 minute stints

take boxes to new house

put fridge back together

walk dogs

make phone call for home visit

Wow. I only got one item on my list done today. Really low energy. Discouraging news from psychologist re options for treatment for ADD. I'm not going to use Ritalin unless I must..one day throwing up from the time release variety of it was enough for me. I did investigate homeopathic remedies, will try that next month.

Constance Monday

x wrote crucial email to friend

x had lunch

got two more hours to read TM, starting at page 108

x read till page 110, gee!

x called landlord
