5:15 pm CI for Lark
Hi everyone. Doing okay till I hit a few walls. There are a few equally important tasks needing done yet, and time is running out. Basically there's only enough time to do one well. I think I'm going to meditate and ask for direction for a few minutes, and see what is revealed.
To do:
task one
task two
task three
Plan B
Checking In
I am so grateful to have a place to check in and share my vulnerability and have the support and belief I need to go on.
I got my walk in (thank you) did a few things on my list (Need to lower my expectations). Still feeling depressed- helpless but not hopeless. (at least not totally)
Thank you al for your support. I need to clean up, shower, type letter and help my sons with homework.
Will check in again later.
Take care, Vic

Happy Monday! Only 4 days until Friday!
Below is my plan for the week. I must stick to this. No changing the plan.
Today I WILL start (and complete) part 1 of project LCFA, which I have been neglecting for probably 6 weeks (if not more). Because if I DON'T, I will fail my class. My main reason for neglecting this task has been anxiety about STARTING it. Tomorrow I will finish writing a speed stacking script to teach the story of Job (and go to work and school). Wednesday I will meet with my cilent and have her sign off on part 1 of the project. Wednesday I will make major progress on LCFA part 2, and some progress on Love Reaches (skit). Wed night will be devoted to puppet rehearsal and starting an econ paper. Thursday I will finish and hand in the econ paper, because if i DON'T, it will be late. Friday I will go to class, and make any finishing touches on LCFA part 2, because if I DON'T, I may fail the class.
To Do (today): LCFA part 1, MST meeting at 6:45
Today I am thankful for my health, and I pray for a quick recovery for my mom from the flu.
Sammy ci :: 12:50 pm
Well, I can officially say I have STARTED project LCFA.
Lots to do, though.
Pretty sure Sandies dark chocolate almond shortbread cookies have cured any depression for my day. :-) yummmm
Sammy ci :: 5:40 pm
Making progress, though wishing I had started this weeks ago.
Time to stop for dinner, then a meeting, then back to the grindstone!
Sammy ci :: 6:25 pm
Didn't stop for dinner, got caught up in some last minute tweaks.
I think I'm basically finished with part 1 of the LCFA project. Ahead of schedule, too! I'm going to let it sit for a few hours, and maybe make some more changes when I get back from my meeting tonight.
NOW, stopping for dinner, then out the door for my meeting!
Sammy ci :: 9:00 pm
Had a good meeting. It was a refreshing break from being cooped up at my desk literally ALL day. Still happy with part 1 of LCFA project.
Next: Eat dinner. Yeah...still haven't done that. Not procrastinating about it, just haven't gotten there yet because I have been on such a role with my project for the day. Come to think of it, I didn't really have lunch either. No wonder I have heartburn! (been meaning to talk to my doctor about acid reflux!)
After dinner: TBD
yay Sammy!
Congratulations for starting!! that is the hardest part - you are an overcomer! So awesome! You will get it done!! :-) Wish i had some of your depression cure.... not depressed but any excuse for yummy dark chocolate... hey they say its healthy for you right...

Journey 10 am
Good morning! I've been to the gym, read email, and made my todo list. I didn't go by to see Dad this morning, since he's in the new place I don't feel like I have to check on him as often, I can just go by to visit. They take very good care of him in the memory care unit, he's never left alone and they keep them busy with activities and entertainment all day. It's a good place. I'll go by in the morning when I'm working from home and I can stay longer.
I have a meeting on Project TF this morning and I have to report that I have made no progress since our last meeting which was Thursday. The cool thing is that there is no guilt associated with that report, as I've been working hard and not procrastinating, THANKS TO YOU GUYS!
Hugs to all of you! (((((you)))))

Journey 6 pm checkout
I did what I planned today with very few lapses . . . a couple of 10 minute breaks that expanded to 20 or 30, otherwise a very good and productive day. I'm headed home for the day, I have two errands to run on the way home and DD is making dinner. I will wash the dishes after dinner and then I'll have some "me time". I'm reading "The Shack" perhaps I'll finish it tonight.

Today I am procrastinating to the max.
I spiraled down as I started with depression and then spiraled downward in self pity. All the self-help books in the world can't snap me out of it.
I need my HP and other people. Thank you for being here and having this safe place. The best thing for me to do is get out, so before the rain comes, anyminute,
1. Get out and walk.
2. check in when I get back.
Thanks
thanks vic
Thanks for download link! I'm saving that book to my hard drive to read later.
Good for you for posting when you are struggling. Sometimes just that small act of coming here and saying that you are having a hard time is enough to turn it around a bit!
UPDATE: oh, awesome, this is an audio book!

Journey - in case you didn't see me or vic post it before - there is a free audio teaching from Joyce Meyer available now - like 4 hours - on hope - has been life changing for me - and funny too - it relates to our circumstances here pretty perfectly!

Got up on time, had a healthy breakfast and checking in more or less on time: I'm proud of all these things.
I think I've been having overly ambitious lists of MITs, so I'm going to try and scale back a little today, so I can get through all my MITs.
Scheduled: Class
9:45-1:00, mtg w/ MC 1:00-1:45MITs:
*Go over 3 CSB lectures
*Finish documenting code (except Cons code) and email WG (started)
*
Email MC and SNW*Start NE program (1 hr)
*Notes from mtg w/ MC and RS
Other tasks:
*
Make a schedule for the week*Read 1 paper and download data
*Doc. cons code
*Write 1/2 page of lab
*Read paper for class and start making presentation
Breaks:
*Cook dinner
*Talk to RH and AG
OK, right now I'm going to work on documentation--I'm going to try and get randomization code running/documented before I leave for class. Starting time log and heading to chatbox now.
kromer 11:40
I think my task list was a little over-ambitious for today again, but I did do an hour's work on the NE program, I have only about 30 min left on doc, and I went over 1 lect and took notes from mtg w/ MC. I think I've been focusing well, and I've been using the steps and tools.
Good night, all!
kromer 7 CI
Currently I'm in the middle of a cooking dinner
Have about 30 min of work left on documenting. After dinner I'm going to quickly finish that, then I'm going to do my 1 hr of working the NE program (I'm tempted to skip this because it is for me rather than for school/lab/church, but I know it's important).
Then, I'll work on going over CSB lectures...not sure I'll get through all 3, but I'll make as much progress as I can. When I get tired I'll take a break and call AG.
kromer 2:25 CI
Have been going OK today.
I've been to class + mtg, sent 2 emails, and worked on documenting code. And I've taken a lunch break. Now I'm ready to get back to work.
Right now, I'll take notes from mtg w/ MC this afternoon.
Then, I'm going to work on doc...I'm going to finish up randomization code documentation, put my raw MoD results in a more-or-less organized format, write up a *brief* summary of what I found, email WG, and copy over mult. alignment files.
Then, I'll print out paper for class and go over 1 CSB lecture.
Heading to chatbox now!
Update 3:15--done w/ notes from mtg w/ MC, now going to finish up rand. code doc. and organize raw MoD results.

Beautiful Monday morning, but I am so tired, and have a headache. I would like to sleep, surely an hour lay down wouldn't hurt? That's negative thinking, with reasonable excuse backing up. I realize this, but I still will lay down, my head is pounding. I just need to get down in writing my wish for accomplishments today
neaten living room, shine kitchen, do necessary laundry cycles, empty recyclable bins, refill hummingbird feeders, get rings for curtains and rods. Its not actually alot, but with my nap, I need to have things laid out so I can just start to do instead of think!
In a bit, then...
1253pm
had nap, went out for errands and bought coffee, tried to find curtain rings, will have to find them on my 'free' time tomorrow am. kitchen half shined, cleaned old fish tank, ready for storage or fighting fish, whichever comes first! picked garbage up from living room, now I am on computer to find an actual recipe for salt cod. Dear hubby. I love him, I really do, but he tastes are so bland...salt cod, turnip, potato. That's what he wants for dinner. Ah well. Off to it, and other things on my list :)

Great starter! I love Norman Vincent Peale quotes and books! Spring break is over - didn't feel like a break at all but glad for the time with dd! Back to routine today :-)
This weekend God led me to a site that has a lot of information on how to overcome things with the word and grace, it has been a huge blessing to me and I have started to read as a daily devotional some of the archives and topics there –It is about Christian psychotherapy and spiritual direction, so I wanted to share the resource to anyone that is interested in that path of healing, http://www.christiansoulcare.com/bibleverses.htm
What I read today:
How do you learn to overcome…..? The common answer is, “Try harder!” But the truth is that trying harder only gets you more of the same. Even if you put all your effort into doing better it won’t work. You might have intermittent success, but in the end you won’t be able to sustain your effectiveness by willpower alone.
You have to try differently. You need to tap into God’s power by going into training with Jesus off the spot, outside of and before you get into the trials and temptations that have been overwhelming you. You need to do a “spiritual workout program” that helps you to be transformed by God. This is what Jesus coached Peter to do right before his denials. “Your spirit (heart) is willing to follow me to the death, but your flesh (natural human abilities) are weak. Watch and pray so you don’t fall into temptation” (Matthew 26:41, paraphrase).
Learning to watch and pray is an application of the part of the Lord’s Prayer where we pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13). We anticipate our vulnerability to repeat a particular problem and we work with God on making the internal changes that will enable us to overcome our temptation. In other words, we become the kind of person who even when under duress wouldn’t isolate, avoid/procrastinate, indulge in _______, or react with some other “compensation behavior” to feel better.
If only we’d learn to trust what God says in view of our particular struggles, relying on God’s Word – not our compensation behaviors – as real and life-giving!
