Falcon CI Sun.

Hi pro buddies,

I'm totally dragging my feet here. . .

Time to put the laundry in the dryer, balance my checkbook, pay some bills and then get to bed.

Got everything done, and am still getting to bed at a reasonable time.

Good night!

Movingalong's check-in for the week

Hello all.

This has been an interesting week for me.

As usual, I've been juggling many tasks, and having great difficulty trying to figure out prioritization.

Everything feels like either a "M.I.T." (Most Important Task), or a "M.U.T." (Most Urgent Task).

I don't know how to prioritize!

It's very confusing to me.

I'm asking Higher Power guidance, to help me select and eliminate the truly unnecessary tasks.

This seems to be working to help me focus on what is most important at any given moment.

It must be working some because ...

I got my taxes filed on Wednesday -- filed and paid on time, for the first time in decades!

I've also improved with keeping up with my health regimen.

However, I still have major areas in my life that I procrastinate on.

("Self-will run riot" -- as they say in some 12-Step literature.)

I just keep on praying and working for more recovery.

kromer 3 CI

Today I'm having a hard time getting going...I cleaned up my room, did a little shopping, went to church, then took about a 2 hr break after church.

Today I have a few things I absolutely have to do:
*Return 2 phone calls
*Finish all doc. except conservation code, email WG
*Go over 2 CSB lectures
*Read 2 papers for DG's project

And a few things I'd like to get done if possible
*Return 3rd phone call
*Make a schedule for next week
*Email about tutoring
*Write 1/2 page of CSB lab

Right now, I'm going to return 1 phone call, then read a paper for DG's project, then work on doc for an hour.l

Update 5:10--returned 1 phone call, then got distracted again, and had a really really early dinner (b/c I didn't want to work...), now I'm going to take 40 min and read a paper, that seems doable.

kromer 11:30 CO rough day

Today was a rough rough day...I haven't had such trouble working in a while.
(I still frequently get distracted/tired/sick of working. But today I had that awful feeling of really wanting to start working and feeling like it was impossible to start on anything. I haven't felt that in a while)

However, I did get through 2 MITs (read 2 papers from DG's lab, returned 2 phone calls), and made good progress on a 3rd (doc). I used the tools for recovery and the chatbox and made some progress despite my resistance.

I've proud that I made some progress, but I think today shows me that I'm  *recovering* not *recovered*: I need to be using the steps/tools, using the checkin boards and chatbox every day, and going to meetings.

Here's hoping tomorrow is better!

Sammy ci :: 11:00 am

Hello everyone,

I wish you a peaceful and productive Sunday!

Much to do....Lets get to it!

ktgato64 11:12 a.m.

VERY late start for me today... yeaterday went alright as far as productivty, but I'm hoping today goes even better. I am thanking god for helping me come across this website...it's such a relief to be around people who are like me. Anyways, i need to get started. I'm trying a new approach for today. I'm setting myself a deadline to get ONE task done... just one, that's all I have to think about. Then when the deadlines up...I'm done, no matter how bad/good I think I did. Then I'll come back and set a new task and deadline here....one step at a time. So my task is... finish studying for my test. I have till 12:45 to get this done.

Good luck everyone!!!!!

Edit: Eh, well my new plan worked... to an extent. I still don't feel quite prepared for this test..but I never completely do. I did manage to get some other important things done so that was good. But my "MIT" for the day still isn't, so gotta get to that asap. Also, I need to ask for help from the HP to help me relax and some times just have faith that certain events in the upcoming future will workl out. Yeah, LOL I need to have faith. Anyways, here's my schedule for the rest of the night:

Edit #2: So I've made some progress...nothings completely "done" yet. Howev, its like 7:50 so I better hurry up!

study for test a bit

MIT(paper)

finish Eng stuff and print out math EC

laundry (take all out of rooms, wash/dry a load 2night) Edit: not gonna do tonight, unfortunately. It's pretty late and I still gotta finish the paper...ugh. Well, this shows me a good lesson in not procrastinating ever (cuz many of my tasks 2day I would have not had to do if I'd started earlier (like weeks earlier.) Also, it teaches me to prioritieze better in general...

call friend

Then...I can relax and chill before bed. :)

Journey 9:50

Instead of working in the chatbox today, I'm going to update here so I can see my progress, since my todo list is here.

I've made my grocery list and now I'm going to face the budget and get that over with.  I had some unexpected expenses this month so I know it won't be pretty . . . but taking action is better than sitting here in fear of it . .. so here goes.

After budgeting, I'm getting dressed and heading for the grocery store.  DD isgoing with me, so it will be less tedious than usual.  When I get home I will take a SHORT breakand then put the groceries away.  Then check back here.

See ya in. .  . like 3 hours.

UPDATE: back from the store, taking 10 min break, then put away groceries and do 1 load of laundry.

UPDATE 2:35 groceries are put away, although my break was more like 30 minutes than 10 minutes.  Ham is in the oven, birds are fed.   Now to fold one load of laundry and then tackle the dishes.   Setting the timer to work for 30 minutes.

dd birthday party was awesome - she had a wonderful time and me too! fell asleep too early i think and woke up after 3 hours, so getting some work done and debating a nap or not! maybe i can try to go back to sleep for 3 more hours...

My focus today -for the week really - is on getting things done and not perfectionism - both in work and in my life i really need God to wash my eyes so i can see as He wants me to see, not to be overly critical of my work or my progress, but rest in knowing He is doing a work in me everyday and to trust that. When i trust God and take the pressure off of myself i get so much more done and with joy and peace as a bonus.

Word and prayer for the day: 1 john 4:18, Psalm 18:32

Trust in God’s Perfect Love to be Perfected (Completed More and More) in Love

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love”

Trust in God and he Will Help you to Be Perfected (Grow in Holiness)

“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.”

Thank you for writing the above. It really helped me right now. My fear and perfectionism can block me from doing my job! I need to ask God for help right now.

So glad it helped!

Hi Babarino - Perfectionism and fear of starting/avoidance that comes from it has cost me jobs and peace many times! I finally feel that with my new awareness of the problem and bringing this problem specifically and consistently to God that my mind is slowly starting to be renewed! I am not all the way there - but progress is such a blessing! Closer and closer to balance! Praying we both walk in victory in this area this week - and everyone here that struggles with it!
