Yes Man

I saw the movie Yes Man, with Jim Carey, last nite and checking in and being a part of PA reminds me of it.Its like saying "yes" in little bits to all the stuff I "had to say no to alone"!

Did one procatination task today.I want to do 1 evey day. Rest of day was full.

Thanks for being here.

yay vic!

Hi Vic!

Congratulations on getting one procrastinated task done!! That is awesome!

I think that is a wonderful idea to do one procrastinated task a day!  I may not be that adventurous yet - maybe should see the movie! - but I think I can work towards that.... I have been trying to figure how to balance the current deadlines and responsibilities I have that always seem to multiply with the scary "backlog" items long procrastinated... your post has me thinking maybe i can set a goal to do something on one of those items every few days, or week  - anything is better than rate I'm approaching them now!

Your posts always inspire me :-)

"Tomorrow is a brand new day... Don't waste today by living in yesterday." Joyce Meyer

Hey Grace!!

Yes, I am going to get that movie. It is so good!!!!!!!!. What is funny was in college, my best friend and I had an inside joke of "Yes". It was the best time of my life. In fact she got me a lighter for my birthday (when I used to smoke) that had the word Yes on it.

The PA task I did yesterday was I picked up a pair of persciption glasses that I forgot in a store , ( believe it or not in Oct., 08) . I don't usually go there and I just procrastinated. I thought they would probably have thrown them out by now- but they were still there. I almost bagged it because I had a all day class and I got stuck in traffic, etc., etc. but I did it.

I am so tired today because I did not get to sleep til after 11 and got up at 5, I did my "basics" I haven't decided which PA task I want to do today, and yes, I was thinking of all the backlog piling up too, so it is going tohave to be an easy one.

With the help of God's grace of course. Take care, I will check in later.

Recycler CI 6:50pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

I went to the gym this morning and did my cardio, ab exercises, and stretching.

At work in the morning, I did a great job, was very dedicated and on track, and marked a lot off my assignment list.

I had lunch with friends and went to an activity.

After lunch: ((sigh)) A lot of projects came in. ((sigh))
I updated my assignment list at the end of the day at work. I work a full day tomorrow before going on vacation, and the list is not looking as good as I wanted! Despite all that effort this morning! Darn!

Tonight I have a conference call in about 30 minutes.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thanks for the starter, Chickadee!

I organized and put all my Christmas stuff away til December!  Yah me!!

Today, I am going to concentrate on fighting resistance...each time my inner voices start rivaling eachother for my attention, I will heed my positivity and do right by myself!  Each moment I begin again, and those beginnings add up to a productive and content day!

dizzle's back in the hizzle

Good day all,

I've been "away" for a couple weeks working on some small but steady projects. Today, I need to get back on track w/ some reports due in the next few days.

1. Task D - Due on Mon
2. Vuln Comms proj - Due on Tues.

I have approx 3-4 days to complete each on these very long-term and organizatin heavy task. These are generally the hardest for me to complete so it's extremely important that I stay focused on the prize and not get distracted along the way. I'm going to do that by.

1. Visualizing myself working.
2. Pushing through tough spots and not hitting the "panic button" (Internet Browser)
3. Being aware of my tendencies toward pro. ie. surfing, news, drawing.

It's been said in here more than once that it's easier to start with a clear conciese rather than one bogged down w/ pro. induced guilt. Gotta ride the wave and keep in going until 5p. JUST DO IT BABY!

journey 8:20

Good morning!  Back to work today after a much-needed day off yesterday.   I feel much more rested today.

I've been to the gym, stopped by to see Dad, read email and checked my calendar.  Now, breakfast, then todo list.  I'll be in the chatbox with my todo list in about an hour.  See ya!

kromer 7:40 CI

Yesterday I didn't get much done (a mixture of procrastination and tasks taking onger than expected), so today I'm a little bit panicked. I'll just work steadily and try to get as much done as I can.

Scheduled (lots!):
*Stats class 9:45-12:30
*Mtg w/ DG 12:30-1
*Mtg w/ DP 1-3
*Class 3-6
*Harambee 6-8

MITs:
*Read 2 papers for class
*15 min finishing up Harambee prep
*Prep for mtg w/ DP
*Doc. Arava analysis code, weeder, sig. code, strand bias code

Other tasks:
*Read paper for DG
*Doc conservation code, write MoD summary
*Grocery shopping
*Email LC, CT, PR

Breaks:
*Call AG or dinner w/ CT

Deep breath, I can make it through the day. I'm going to start with reading papers for class, should be able to get through this in about 50 min. Heading to chatbox.

kromer 4:05 CI

Seems like I might actually be able to at least get through my MITs today...a small miracle.

Went to stats class and mtg w/ DG and DP. Mtg w/ DP didn't quite get finished, so have sent him an email scheduling time to continue.

Also read 2 papers for class and prepped for mtg w/ DP.

Looks like my 3-6 class will get out early (I'm hoping around 5:15), so I can finish up Harambee prep and maybe return a phone call before harambee.

When I get home from Harambee, I'll call AG (I'm way too exhausted for dinner w/ CT), then do my documentation MIT and maybe run to the grocery store.

Whew! This is a long day, but seems to be going OK.

I'll just work steadily and try to get as much done as I can.

That sounds like a good plan for me too!

Word and prayer for the day: 2 cor 10:3-5 message

We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.

3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Thank you God for working in my life to demolish strongholds of fear and avoidance and to see myself the way you see me and created me to be.  Help me find the courage and faith to start and keep going.

Constance is back and wants back on track

Hi everyone,

I've been away far too long ... my Easter break was more of a Easter sabbatical ... I hope that everyone is doing fine, haven't "seen" you all in a long time and I missed you all!

So I want to get back on track and tackle my next big projects:

- get appointment with Prof. H.

- call 3 real estate agents per day

- make a tiny tiny study plan, maybe just for the rest of this week(aaah, fear creeping up my back ...)

- check in job application website for 10 min a day

welcome back constance!

Good to have you back, and good job getting back to work!

Sarito 8h30

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for the starter, Chickadee!  I defintely needed to hear "Every moment can be a new start."

Although I had extremely restless sleep last night, I feel better for turning in a bit earlier.  My mind kept playing through and trying to "figure out" things I'd been working during the day while I was sleeping.  I tried to block it out, but my mind was so active.  Must be anxiety.

To Do:

Install new organizer (done), practice 3 hours (one hour done, another hour done, last hour done), pick up V repair (done), buy train ticket (done), drop off dress (done), hardware store (not gonna happen today... on the list for tomorrow), 1 hour review notes, exercise (done), 12 step meeting (done) , reconcile 1 mo bills (done)

Have a beautiful day.

Sarito
