I went over to the rental condo. There were some various stray discard items, so I bagged up 3 [small] trash bags and took those to the dumpster. The refrigerator was really clean, but I had some leftover soy sauce etc that I wasn't going to use, so I added that in the trash bags. I started the stove burner liners to wash in the dishwasher.
Do I want to go back over there? I can wipe the stove around the burner areas a little more. It's still daylight, so I think I will go over for a few more minutes.
8:20pm. OK, I did go over there and wiped around various areas of the stove top. There is still more to clean, but psychologically it made me feel better.
Next: combination: I need to get ready to sleep, but I'm still a little hyper.
Have not been here for a while.
The last 4 months have not been productive.
I am on paid leave from work, and while I have needed to recover from a ver difficult 2008 and the previous several years I do need to make use of the time that I do have.
So Now I choose to:
spend 30 minutes on self care
spend 1 hour on tiding house
walk dog and post certificate
eat something healthy
call T
Post again at 12 noon!
1.25pm
Above is mostl accomplished, except for my own walk! It was raining so I drove the dog to the park for his exercise. I also did some errands for me and for m mother and ate a health lunch.

"Recovery from procrastination means doing what you say you're going to do, when you say you're going to do it."
This morning I did go to the gym. The cute guy talked to me again! However, I noticed he was wearing a Large wedding ring. ((sigh)) Anyway, I did my cardio, ab workout, and stretching for the day :)
I did some projects today, and also Prep Work. Tomorrow I have to do some photocopying and other projects before I go on my vacation Thurs, so I tried to get drafts of everything done today. Tomorrow is going to take some Precision Drill Team strategy. It bothers me a little to have pressure, but some days are like that.
After work I met up with the guy who is interested in the rental condo. Fingers crossed that he will sign the lease! Either way I still have some clean-up work to do! Plan: I will try to do an hour of cleaning/moving in the morning; then go to the gym to shower.
Tonight I'm supposed to have my volunteer group. However, I am [emtiomally] worn to a frazzle. I let them know I will skip the meeting. I'm going to do stuff around here; maybe go to the rental condo for a while? (or not).
I think if you google animated avatars, you can find a variety of ones to choose from. Or, if you have a favorite [for example] cartoon character, you can google their name + "animated." Also wdwinfo.com/Discussion Boards/Community Boards, there are a lot of avatars that you can cut and paste [or "right click and save"), animated and regular. I hope you find some you like! :)
So grateful to have the right boss and sufficient resources these days to just buy a new one and pay tech support to set it up. I recognized my default setting (character defect) says I "should never" pay for anything that I "should" be able to do myself, which is everything - so I can give my money to the poor or something. In recovery I now contribute to my own recovery (and the economic recovery!) by humbly admitting when I really don't know how to do something, and paying people to do what they are good at, thus preventing poverty. I still support charity too, but this feels much saner.
I feel good that I planned my day prayerfully and am making progress, though it's been oft-interrupted with phone calls, tech support interface and J stuff. Here's the plan I started with, and current status:
Personal, Step 11, Mom call, food plan/prep
Plan work; prep for tech support to transfer me to new laptop
Finish editing mktng materials and send
Read and edit all SOC-relevant materials postponed to plane tomorrow
Call Fr T at noon to confirm
Lunch- make grocery list for J
12: 40 leave for Fr T appt he postponed
2:30 prep for electrician (J)
Write response to SOC and email team for review postponed; out of time
Fill out the printing req form postponed; out of time
Review direx for the rest of the printing req postponed; out of time
7pm AA mtng nope, out of time
9pm bedtime (need to be up @ 5am) time now is 12:10 - but I no longer need to be up by 5 :-)
Telling on myself here about tasks I am procrastinating, and why:
* Telecons with Rochester, Newark, Miami, Atlanta, Maine - People are overwhelmed by Stim, don't have time to want to talk to me now.
* Followup Chicago - I am unclear how to proceed.
* Finish expense report - sheer don't wannas
* Enter debits - sheer don't wannas
well, I have discovered just having the timer setting off every 10 minutes gives one the sense of accomplishment even if one isn't doing any particular task, but puttering around. A 'look at what I just did in 10 mins' kind of boost. Better than nothing. Talked with a good friend for 45 mins, made healthy muffins, now making better than store bought chocolate chip cookies. Completed a laundry cycle. Kept kitchen clean. Not bad, I guess, for feeling like I am not doing anything! I will keep it up! :)
I have been on the computer since before 8am, and purposely been avoiding coming here. I do have the timer pinned to my shirt though, guess that's a step in the right direction.
It is snowing today, since late afternoon yesterday. Supposed to continue till tomorrow. Grr.
Today I want to continue working on the disaster room. Yesterday I actually put the Santa with kids picture on the wall. Pretty good, only three months past! My hubby had to bring up the xmas wreath that is still hanging on the door to that room up though. I'd forgotten about that. Even though you need to walk past it to get in the room.
So, today, timer is set on 10 minutes, I will alternate between disaster room and ... kitchen first, then my bedroom closet floor!
Good morning! Lovely thread starter. I'm from Atlanta so Dr. King is naturally one of my heroes :) but I had no idea he was a productivity guru as well!
lemme see . . .I've been to the gym and checked on Daddy. I read email but I still have 600 items in my inbox, all read but not disposed of. I'm working from home today and I still feel tired which is not a good combination. I went to bed early last night though so I am more rested. I have the meeting with my boss at 9:30 if he can be assed to show up for it, and another meeting at 10:30. Better get motivated here. First thing, clean up and get dressed in 'work at home' clothes, 5 minutes to review for meeting with boss and send him a written update which I have all ready, and then work on my todo list for today. See y'all in the chatbox.

Hey! I actually got my desk partially tidied! I didn't review my notecards till near the end of the day, but I did finally review them! Making progress, an inch or two at a time.
Tonight I need to exercise done, eat done, then do Project A done, Project T got a good start, maybe Project M done, and remember to call J after 8:00 done.
So, no web surfing tonight! Time to go exercise now (before I get too hungry!)

"if i feel guilty about my procrastination, i will get LESS done, if i dont feel guilty, i will get MORE done." - Clement
Well its 2nd day of honoring my commitment that if I stay up till midnight (or wake up too soon as I did tonight) I’m going to make sure my CI for morning is done, so I am focused in the morning.
I also like the idea of focusing on a specific Word and idea for several days to really get it in my spirit – joy was great over weekend – so continuing with these…
Word and prayer for the day again: Proverbs 3:5 the message
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track.”
Reading to put into practice again:
“If you want to be free, just start doing what God wants you to do, one step at a time, and you’ll eventually walk out of your messes." Joyce Meyer
New idea…. Soundtrack of my day: Casting Crowns, tba
one additional note on it that is a spiritual, and I know not everyone uses that path as I do, so I saved it to post here in my more personal post - for renewing the mind: Rom. 12:1-3
FINISH planning next week, jobs/dline schedule
I am really fighting the urge to feel guilty for time spent planning and not DOING, but reminding myself that my way of doing has been a vicious cycle of adrenaline and stress and if I just start DOING that way again it will be more of the same. SO, better to stop and learn and plan a better way to do it now - because I will never find an ideal time when I am not busy to do it.

ByGodsGrace, have you read the book "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper? I'm just a few chapters in, so I can't really make much of a recommendation, but so far it has been really good. Consider checking into it. :-)
I have read that book and have loaned my copy out several times - will likely read it again if I get it back! :-) It is a really good one and I think you will like it more as you get into it even. All about how we can overcome with God! I try to read a heaven focused book every so often just to keep that in my focus. There is one by Jesse Duplantis, Heaven Close Encounters of the God Kind, about his experience that I have read and passed along several times too!
Thanks so much for thinking of me to share the book with and reminding me of its message! Happy to share book and music ideas anytime! :-)
