Recycler CI 8:10pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

Had a good day, despite still toughing it out with the head cold.

Today: took a few things over to new condo. Staged condo for Feng Shui consultation. Showered at gym. Did work projects. Had Feng Shui consultation; everything turned out well. Work projects in afternoon. After work, went to volunteer meeting & took minutes. Getting ready to sleep now. I'm going to try the Breathe Right strip again, because I don't want to take Nyquil again. I did sleep most of last night after I took it, though.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Falcon Tuesday CI

Hi pro buddies,

Can I just mention that I really, really hate making phone calls?  Something I really want in my life right now is a relationship, so I've been dilligently pursuing online personal ads.  It takes a lot of energy to put myself out there, but I know it will be worth it to meet someone.

I do fine emailing, and I do fine when I actually meet someone for a date.  But I hate it when they want to connect by phone before we've met, even though it's a perfectly reasonable, normal thing to do.  I just get spooked and tongue-tied and it stresses me out. . . which doesn't exactly help me feel attractive or confident!  Ugh!

Oh, well.  I'm off to put a load of laundry in the wash, then see if I can psych myself up to return a phone call.

If anyone has tips for how to not stress out over phone calls, let me know!

Falcon

Falcon CI -- phone call done

O.k., phone call is done and it was stressful but reasonably not too awkward.  I'd still rather use email, smoke signals, carrier pigeons or anything else.   :P

Falcon

Falcon's phone call

Good job!  I HATE making phone calls, even simple easy ones!  So good job for making a difficult one, and since it went well, good luck on your date lol.

congrats falcon!

Good job making that call! I agree that carrier pigeons would be much better :)

Thanks kromer

Thanks, kromer!  What do you bet if I had carrier pigeons I'd procrastinate on cleaning the pigeon coop?  Wink

Good night,

Falcon

greetings hope-faith

you seem to have fully grasped the meaning of the checkin board! Congratulations!

I thought my kids were Thing 1 and Thing 2: Dr. Seuss clearly illustrated their hair and their habits! My empathies with the last minute science project. I sometimes think that teachers hate homework more than kids do!

CL ci

gotta get my act in gear today. Make plans. make choices. do them... first finish up here. 12:30pm.

That was 1 min. I give thanks to HP that i have recovered enuf to not have that balloon into an hours-long affair.

Now, tho my heart is filled w/ dread, i will face my MITs and set them.

I am a very social person however I am also a very private person. So this forum will allow me to have a support network that I am socialize with yet maintain my privacy. I am really looking forward to the changes that I know will come.Clement I need some help and this is probably not the place to post but how do I edit my pervious comment. I have looked for navigational support but have failed to locate it.

welcome (and editing comments)

Hi hope-faith! Glad that you're here!  I've found this site very useful, hope you will too.

Editing comments:
Normally, your post will have an "edit" and a "reply" button at the bottom, and you just click the "edit" button to change the post.
However, if someone has replied to your post, you can no longer edit it.
(This is a little annoying, but makes some sense...otherwise, you could edit the post and make the reply irrelevant)
Instead of editing, you can just repost with a correction/update...since we're a relatively small community and we start a new check-in thread every day, you don't have to worry too much about cluttering up the bulletin board

Thanks Bunches

I was wondering what happend to the edit button:-? thanks so much.

Journey 8:55 UPDATE 1:20

I've been to the gym, MITs are set, and I've had breakfast.  Setting timer for a 15 minute break.  then I'm going to get cleaned up and dressed for the day and start on MIT #1.
Working from home has led to a bad habit of sitting around in my sweaty gym clothes all morning.  Today I'll make it a priority to get cleaned up and dressed in "work from home" clothes.

Update 1:20  The cat is sneezing!  Luckily dd is home from school now so she can take him to vet.  He's been sneezing constantly all day.

Anyway, I'm dressed. MIT #1 is done, and I have started on MIT #2, but it needs more work.  I'm taking a half hour lunch break now.  Need to medicate the dog, forgot that this morning.  I have a houseful of sickly animals today . ..

GeorgeSmiley 7:30 AM and updates

Good morning, all...

I was out all day yesterday at Client M, and later at my part-time night-shift job, so I didn't check in at all.

Again a huge, long list on my task pad. I know I won't get thru it all. But even the tasks I do take on, I need to be sure not to let them suck up all my time.

MIT #1: Will be quick: Wrap up projects T-B and T-O.Update 8:30 AM: Done.

MIT#2: Finish drafting Project P-12.

MIT#3: Headway on Project U

MIT#4: Review status of Project D and set new timetable for it.

MIT#5: Don't lose sight of the ongoing paperwork/administrative tasks that help keep the rest of my time smoother if I keep on top of them.

Whew!!!!

Worries and distractions: Mostly, that I'll get sucked back into political reading in these last few weeks before the election. Also, that I'll find myself paralyzed by intimidation at my list and not advance the ball on anything. And because I go to my part-time job again tonight I know there 'll be a further temptation to "reward" myself in advance because I'm working so hard...

I slept a little late this AM and have just showered. I need to wait another half-hour before I eat breakfast, so I'll start on MIT#1 now.

Update 8:30 AM

Urggh... not off to a good start. But I did complete MIT#1.

Breakfast now.

Update 2:45 PM

I've been struggling today. Haphazardly productive but scattered and not getting much done. Some important phone calls etc., but never really getting focused otherwise. Very much in "reactive" mode.

I need to leave in 45 minutes to run errands and go to my part-time evening job. I'm struggling with what to do in the time I have left.

Update 3:30 PM

Well I got a particular task done (wasn't on the above list but needed doing) so that I could check it off the list.

In the morning I will first try to once again winnow my tasks to a manageable group.

The Hero's Code:

Show up. Pay Attention. Speak the Truth. Let Go of the Outcome.

kromer 8:10 CI

Most of the day is scheduled, then this evening I can use for MITs:

*Until 9--work on problem set and paper-reading
*9-1:30: scheduled
*1:30-2:30 work on probability
*2:30-3:30 go running+shower
*3:30-4:30 work on genetics
*4:30-6 scheduled

I'm going to try and keep on schedule until 6, then when I get home I'll set some MITs for the evening

kromer 1:15 CI

On schedule so far (except I didn't finish the paper reading)...I'm going to work on my probability and finish reading paper, working until 2:30, and then go running

kromer 6 CI

OK-but-not-great day so far...did most scheduled items, but I didn't get to genetics or completely finish paper. I'm going to go home now, have dinner, check back in with an evening plan by 7:30.

kromer 7:55 CI

A little late but not bad...

This evening, I choose to:
*Write out schedule for week
*Email NM
*Do 30 min work on project for PF
*Deal with recycling
*Fill in food log
*email CE, RH, AG, PR, MT
*Start new daily bible reading program

I don't think this will take the whole evening, but anything beyong this is gravy.

I'm going to start with food log, recycling (ugh! it's an enormous pile...), and bible reading. Then I'll chat myself through emails, then I'll make the schedule and choose a useful task for PF's project and chat myself through 30 min work.

kromer 10:50 CI

I did the food log, recycling, and bible reading, then I haven't done anything since then. And I'm completely exhausted and want to go to bed. I'm going to push myself to do 15 min of work (email CE and PR, then work on schedule for 10 min), then I'm going to go to bed and remember tomorrow is a new day. (This is frustrated though, I'd been doing pretty well for a couple days...)

Update 11:20--got through my block, did everying through 7:50 CI except the 30 min work on PF's project. I'm going to bed now, see everyone tomorrow morning!

Journey 7:45 Good morning all you busy little bees!

After a lazy 3-day weekend, it's back to work for me.  I wasn't lazy about housework, so my house is actually pretty clean.  But I was very lazy about paperwork, and did not do my budget for the 15th AND I have a pile o' crap on my desk that needs to be sorted, filed, etc.

Getting an early start this morning.  Back about 8:30 with my MITs for the day.  Have a great Tuesday!

Now, admit it, don't you miss the Tuesday Lady?   Even just a little bit?  hehehe
