Chemgirl 2.47pm saturday panic

My dd's first  birthday is tomorrow, and the house is a mess, inlaws staying (and getting underfoot), cake to bake, loot bags to stuff, tidying, laundry, gifts to wrap etc.  Am in a state of extreme anxiety, as is dh which doesn't help.  I like my inlaws, but I *hate* having them to stay, I hate having their stuff all over the house, the living room set up as a bedroom etc.

Need to write MITs, and get some focus.

Today:

-make play dough

-Make cake

-wrap pass-the-parcel

-buy salad, sausages, drinks, cocoa powder, bananas, pineapple

-decorate cake

-stuff loot bags

-wrap dd's gifts

Tonight:

-tidy kitchen

-tidy living room

-vacuum downstairs

Tomorrow am:

-tidy up and get girls and myself dressed and ready

-prepare food

-put up shade tent

I don't know why I get so anxious about stuff like this, I am a perfectionist and want to be seen to have the 'perfect' party, loot bags, cake etc.  which is just stupid.

*taking a deep breath*

Recycler CI 8:55pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

I'm coming down with a cold/sore throat here; running a fever. ((sigh)) This weekend I will do what I can, but may have to take care of myself, more than get a bunch of stuff done?

Today: H&G project, walked uptown, stretched at gym, Work. Got deadline projects done, did some other projects. Walked home. Did two loads of clothes. Had therapist appt tonight. Now will go to sleep early.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Journey 12:45 crazy day

I barely got settled into the office this morning, then had to rush to a 9 am meeting which lasted til 11:30.  It was our monthly "big" staff meeting, not just my team but all the teams under my manager.  It's a good meeting, lots of discussion and information sharing, but it's always loooonnnnggg.   And we were informed that Wednesday is our AA's last day so, as the token female in the group, I was elected to run out and get a card/gift at lunchtime.

So, I'm just now getting to my day starter and setting my MITs.  I'll set two of them retroactively heh.

I was disappointed in myself last night, I sat down at my computer game right after dinner and didn't even realize how much time had passed until I looked at the clock and it was 9:30.  I quickly prepared for the morning and went to bed, but I left dirty dishes in the sink.  I used to do that all the time, but the "new me" almost always does the dishes every evening.   I''ve been making this happen by doing chores BEFORE screen time (tv or computer), but didn't do things in the proper order last night lol.

I'm working on one major thing right now, and I'm going to focus on that and try to get it knocked out today.   CYA L8R

kromer 8:05 CI

I'm having a hard time getting going this morning: I'm going to clean my room, set my MITs and update again.

Update 8:25--today is a very scheduled day, (seminars 11-2:30 and 4-5:30 and youth group 5:30-8:30), so I won't be able to get too much done outside of scheduled events. Here are my MITs:
1)Take care of some administrative tasks that have been piling up: SLP calendar, direct deposit forms, email CV and PJ, email DC, email ML, mail form
2) Document 1 dataset (this documentation task has been prompting a lot of resistance, so I'm just going to try and do a little bit each day.)
3)Bg reading on NM's work+email him to follow up

If I have time I'd also like to fix Cytoscape visualization, but this is lower priority.

I'm going to start with some administrative tasks: 2 emails+SLP calendar. Update when those are taken care of.

Update 9:40--I took care of the 2 emails+SLP calendar. Now I'm going to walk to campus. When I get there I'm going to work on documenting dataset, then go to seminar.

kromer 2:45 CI

I went to 2 seminars, and took care of 2 emails, direct deposit form and SLP calendar.

I'm going to spend 30 min documenting a dataset now. Back when that's done.

Update 3:30--a little slow, but I finished documenting the dataset. 1 MIT down! Now I'm going to start background reading on NM...I'm going to spend the next 30 min reading his lab website. Then I'm going to go to seminar, mailing form along the way. After seminar I'll call DC, which will let me complete another MIT, then go to youth group. Back after youth group.

kromer 10:30 CI

I did the above (except I didn't have a chance to call DC), came back from youth group, then ended up calling my parents and watching a movie. Now I'm feeling down for some reason. I'm going to try and do a little work (30 min bg reading on NM), then I'll take a shower, go to bed and remember tomorrow is another day.

GeorgeSmiley 7 AM and updates

It's another day with lots to do. Again I'm going to set half-hour increments.

MIT#1: Project A. Needs to be turned around right away. Update 8:30 AM: Finished

MIT#2: Project O. WIll need to be turned around immediately afterward.

Will update later.

Update, 8:37 AM

OK, MIT #1 finished.

Taking some time to walk thru an email backlog and a list of tasks backlog.

Will check in at 9:30 and resume MIT work then.

Update, 11:17 AM

Working on MIT #2.

Also, did my weekly Overview, which is always important and I can easily tend to let go... :-)

Taking a break to shower and other things and will resume work in 30-45 minutes.

Update 12:15 PM

Back working, delayed showering, (NOT procrastination, but rather to keep doing what I've been working on...)...

Update 2 PM

The last couple of hours have been sort of aimless. A little work, a little not work, trying to decide if I was ready to shower... Well, finally I got around to showering and now I'm back working on project O.

Update 5:45 PM

Went out for a pre-arranged Friday afternoon get together with a buddy--nice break.

Resuming Project O now.
