Journey 4 pm

I only got through my top TWO MITs today.  #3 is moving to tomorrow, since I gotta work tomorrow anyway.  I'm still feeling slightly under the weather and I want to get home and make my grocery list tonight, so I can run out to the store in the morning before testing begins.
.
It's time to do a review of my goals and my project list, I haven't done that in a while.  I find that if I don't think about my goals on a daily basis, I lose sight of them.   I'm must less likely to procrastinate when I remember why I want to do the things that are my list.   So I'm going to take half an hour now to do that, then I'm outta here.
.
I will probably check in tonight just to make sure I get my menu planning and shopping list done for the week.  See you later!

Lark, 10:21am

Running a bit late today. Yesterday's MIT turned into a big part of today's plan. I'll be getting some help, though, but I must not procrastinate until my helper arrives. Aside from the pile on the table, the house looks okay this morning. One thing I've been doing alot of lately is doing other tasks instead of the MITs. That's becoming a bad habit again. Arrgh. I could use of positive thoughts my way for that today. Have a good days, folks.
Today:
(X)morning
spiritual time
MIT (Just finish it!!!!)
Sort pile on table
Get supplies
Start next MIT when the first is done
check in again

Journey 10 am UPDATE 11:30

Good morning every one!  Still not 100% today but feeling better than yesterday.  I have to work Saturday again this week so I'm planning to leave pretty early today.
I've been to the gym for a lighter-than-usual workout, read and responded to email, set MITs.   Break now 15 mins, then MIT #1.
Update 11:30 1 MIT done, 2 to go.

GeorgeSmiley 7:40 AM check-in, plus updates

I've got a long list of stuff today and I think the best strategy may be to just march down the list as the day progresses rather than tie myself in knots trying to pick something to do first. So I'm taking a risk here--not formally setting MITs as I usually do, but simply following my task list.

I'll try to check in more often than usual with a report to help keep me focused.

Update, 1:30 PM

Well, not so good on the check-ins here, but I have generally stayed on track, although a lot of paper-shuffling rather than income-producing work.

Between checking stuff off and appropriately deferring tasks to another time, I've whittled the list down by about 30-35%.

keeping going...

Update 5 PM

Well, end of the day. I managed to get thru a number of items on my list. None of them was particularly an MIT, just a pile of gotta-do-them-sooner-or-later stuff.

Because of various family responsibilities it was also a disjointed day, making it actually a pretty good one to do these tasks of lesser importance.

Monday's list is already looking way too long (as usual?) -- I'll review over the weekend and see if I can trim them.

Have a good weekend, all...

*Finish paper rough draft
*Laundry
*Email 1 prof
*Pick up paycheck

Scheduled:
*Seminar 11-1
*Probability recitation 3-4
*Youth group 5-9

Designated breaks:

*Ask APL about genetics notes
*Go over genetics exam
*Finish running p300 and brca1 rand. runs
*Brainstorm why STRING didn't work well

Right now, I'm going to start my laundry. Then I'll work on finishing rough draft...this is an UT, due in 3 hours! I'll update with a specific plan for finishing.

Update 9:15--I've finished the laundry and made some progress on the research methodology section, but I still haven't finished. So I'm going to give myself a deadline...I'm going to write for 10 minutes, and then move on with whatever I have. Then I'll spend 15 min writing anticipated results and findings, then update again.

Update 10:00--I'm doing all right, have about 10 lines more to write, then need to proofread. I'm going to try and finish up in 20 min, proofread for 10, then head to class.

Update 10:35--finished paper draft, heading to class now!

Update 2:30--went to seminar and had a nice lunch with CY, then spent about 15 min goofing off online. Before recitation I'm going to pick up check and email prof and email APL about genetics notes. After recitation I'm going to do chore for LR, then head to youth group. More updates as needed, definitely check back after youth group (a little after 9).

Update 4:20--picked up check and deposited, emailed prof and APL, went to recitation, spent about 15 min goofing off. Now I'm going to do chore for LR...should be able to make good progress on it before leaving for youth group at 5:10.

Ended up going out with friends after youth group. I'm going to take a shower now, then go over genetics exam and finish chore for LR, then go to bed.
