I am tempted to check in on Sunday's page but it's stilll Saturday where I live. Hope everyone is safe tonight from the elements. Thinking of you, Lark.
I've been debating when to take my 24 hours of disconnected Sabbath and thought I would do it tomorrow since I'm already starting with church and have a family commitment after...but at 6 pm I realized I'd forgotten to buy legal paper and print out and deliver my financials to the CPA. Had no time this evening due to prior MITs, so it will have to happen tomorrow. Rats. ...OK, now I am going to borrow GS's "Hero" idea and practice letting go of the outcome.

Inertia is crummy, isn't it? But it sounds like you have a great plan for moving through it -- small steps, connection & support, and recognizing both your fears and the blessings in your life.
Well, I don't know that I'll be checking in all that regularly today. My biggest task right now is to go through some files in the basement that Mrs. GS wants to to collect and aggregate. That certainly is a task I could be tempted to put off...
Beyond that... laundry; take No. 2 son to a theater audition that he doesn't want to go to (but his mother does--and she's out of town).
Rain canceled his soccer game today.
And tonight, sing at a community coffeehouse.... :-)
Have a happy weekend, all...
UPDATE 10:40 PM
Pleased to report that
1) Coffeehouse went well
2) I've gotten this week's laundry done
3) I've done a lot to get rid of boxes of paper and other stuff that have been sitting around all year in my home office!!!! Thanks for Rainy Days!

Show up. Pay Attention. Speak the Truth. Let Go of the Outcome.
Hi everyone. Lots of rain coming this way. Some carryovers from yesterday, and from the week. Ick. There's one dreaded task for work which is drawing near: Creep, creep, creep. There's also another task, while smaller, is pretty nasty. In the meantime all the normal things need to be done. Good luck everyone.
Today:
morning routine
spiritual (not me) time
do business with client A
finish project B
clean workshop in prep for dreaded task
call M about job
do load of laundry
use dust mop on floor
kitty box
kitty food
food for me
call client C
check in later
Good morning! I've been up for an hour, just relaxing. We stayed up late last night watching the hurricane coverage. Scary. You know you're old when you stay up late watching the weather channel.
So, time to get my myriad bags out of the car, and make a grocery list. First, I need to text my son and see if they are coming over tonight, and then text my friend Mike and see if his family in TX are ok.
Back here tenish with the online grocery ad, making my list.

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
When I was a bit younger I never consulted the weather. Now the weather map and obituary pages are the first I turn to when I pick up a newspaper. A small, local radio station has the complete weather and local obits at six o'clock every afternoon. The locals often stop by my shop to drink coffee, visit, and listen to the radio then. Then they're off!
When Hurricane Ivan swung way North a few years ago, it caused alot of damage aeound here. I was lucky, but this week's plans are contingent on the weather map. I'm in a low valley and fear flooding.
Right now my life is without two things that I'm longing for. . . a sweetheart, and a community. I have good friends and contacts, so I'm not without people in my life, but those two types of contact have been missing from my life for too long.
I'm taking steps to change those things (personal ads for dates, and seeking to move so I'll have more time & be in an area where I can meet more like-minded people.) But at the moment I'm feeling a lot of longing in a real primitive, caveperson way (I want my mate and I want my tribe!)
I've got a boatload of stuff to do this weekend. But since I drove home from class feeling like a bundle of emotion, the top priority is a little nurturing. Next up: have a good cry while cooking some good food, and watch a comforting DVD while I eat. Then I can be up & at 'em again, and I'll check back in.
I'm back from the libary with an armload of books, and of course I want to nestle in and read all of them right now (no problem with procrastinating on reading good books!)
I'm tuckered, so next up are some low-energy, sitting-down type tasks:
Easing into the day here. I'm going to putter around, and see what I can get into ;)
This morning: straighten condo, put away clothes, before going on bike ride, before buying provisions for the week. I may update my CI in a little while! :)
5:50am. Folding & putting away clean clothes. Started a new load in the clothes washer. How did all these shoes get all over the floor?!!! Uh, oh yeah, that was me. lol. ((puts shoes away)) lol. Next: Fix gym bags for next week :)
That's one thing I've noticed about being single. . . there are never arguments about who left the milk out on the counter, or who forgot to take the trash out, or whose turn it is to scoop the kitty litter. And the so & so who left their shoes all over the place always turns out to be me!

But it sounds like you have a great plan for moving through it -- small steps, connection & support, and recognizing both your fears and the blessings in your life.

Nothing like a little physical & mental comfort food -- pasta and an episode of Columbo.
Feeling much better. Next up: round up books and go to library.
