Recycler CI 9pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

I am so thankful that: It's Friday and my work week is done! Wheee!!! :)

Today: elliptical, stretching, work, got deadline projects done, walked at lunchtime, brought home empty boxes to take to Dad's. After work, had snack at home, went to therapist. After therapist, put gas in car, bought items at specialty shop since in the area.

Tonight: I need to brush & floss teeth. Can wash & moisturize face. I want to surf the Internet a little before going to sleep.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Convalaria checking in at 8.50 Saturday morning

Dental procedure yesterday took nearly 3 hours and left me swollen and in pain.
Did not manage anything last night apart from having dinner with mother.
Did not sleep very much due to pain.
Surfed the net exploring the 12 steps.
PA is a 12 step group and I have read the 12 steps and as yet I do not  understand them.
I know that there is a chatbox meeting every week, but I am not able to acess it.
I was wondering if we could perhaps start a 12 steps Forum with a thread for each of the 12 steps? We could share and explore what the steps mean and how they are integral in recovery. What do people think??

Any way tasks for to day:

  • Personal care
breafast, medicate, shower, hair, teeth, moisturise face, scrub and moisturise feet, antibiotic, pain killer, savacol, dress
  • Prepare mother for her stay in respite
    1. Collect medication from chemist, do her laundry, buy magazines, pack, pick up medication list from doctor
  • lunch, teeth, medication, savacol
  • think about THE BACKLOG and tidy it into manageable piles
  • think about bills and maybe pay a few over the phone
  • administrative task on line
  • 15 minutes paper mess in bedroom (no its not THE BACKLOG)
  • 15 minutes on tax papers

Check back in when finished

con & 12 steps

For whatever reason, all the people who attend the 12 step chat meeting are delighted to help someone get the kinks of the chat worked out. Go ahead and try to join us. We'll check postings at that time so post if you can't get in. If people can get there 1/2 hr early, for tech issues, that would be great. I think i can but i dont know my sched yet.

And btw i had the same feeling w/ the 12 steps. Didnt get it first time. Not sure i even fully get it now. Of course i'm the kind of person who is intrigued by that. In my opinion, they're well worth delving into. They've been a life saver to me. Of course they focus you on Higher Power, so perhaps HP has been the life saver ;)

The 12 step thread is a good idea. I'm looking forward to it.

Hugs!

Hi Convalaria!

Hugs! I hope you feel better soon :)

A 12-step thread is a good idea :)

See you on the board!

Thanks Higher Power

i got some positive feedback at work today. I'd just like to thank higher power, because these last months i've been running on his strength and hope.

tx recyc, rita

thanks guys!

btw, i now feel that the compliment was unjustified, and that the only reason why they think that is they dont see how slow i work. I know this sounds like a distortion, but i really think it's true. lol. I think God blinded their eyes to the truth. lol.

Yay, Clement! :)

Hi Clement!

I'm happy for you! :) Yay! :)

Rick's CI 11:20am

I missed a couple of days here. I've been busy and pretty much productive, but fighting for FOCUS on the MIT's. I find I tend to fade in the afternoon after my routine work wraps up. I also find that I "medicate" on things that give me a false sense of well-being. How does taking a nap or watching the news over and over make the bills go away?

Anyway for Friday

- PAYROLL
- BANKING
- TRIP BILLS
- DESK
- CHECK OUT

One healthy sign, I do find I am more proactive about the little things I chronically neglected. For example I replaced a broken window in the garage. Oddly they aren't the things on my list. I'm also trying to fight perfectionism. Sometimes I spend more time planning and overthinking my tasks than just doing them. Still there is no reason I can't document and finish my MIT's. ... CHARGE!!

Mid Day Report

Hard day but I fought to focus and drank some Cranergy! Lots of routine tasks, and two MIT's

as of 4:15 PM
DONE - PAYROLL
DONE - BANKING

Now I'm off on to take a break and meet a new friend

Falcon Ci Friday

Hi pro buddies,

Haven't been checking in as often -- been too busy to procrastinate!

Today I am thanking the cosmos for the internet.

I just got all the information I needed to get some paperwork updated at the motor vehicles office -- found out what kind of documents I need, where the closest office is, directions on how to get there.  Stuff that just a few years ago would have required all kinds of dreaded phone calls, dragging out maps, etc.

For all the internet can be a sinkhole of temptation for us procrastinators, it can also be an incredible help with blasting through a bunch of tasks at once.

Unfortunately, I can't do the actual updating online, so I still have to schlepp myself out in the heat (it's fierce out today!)

Next up:

  • Shower/dress
  • Gather docs
  • Eat lunch
  • Head out into the flaming desert sun

Falcon

Falcon CI Fri evening

Hi all,

I got the dmv chore done, plus got to the library, and when I got home I put in a load of laundry and put some homemade juice popsicles in the freezer to set so I'll have something cool to enjoy later tonight.

Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Next up:

  • Empty dishwasher & put in dirty dishes
  • Sort paperwork into neat stacks so it won't look quite so scary when I tackle it tomorrow
  • Read a little
  • Go to bed

Falcon

I do understand about piles of paper work.....

Wishing you luck with this. There are paper piles in various spots around my house.  Nothing urgent but an eyesore. Categorising each pile into sections does help me, and I have just bookeneded one such pile for 15 minutes.

lol jo

yeah. The best ones are written at 2 levels: grown-up & child.

Anyway, i did stop, and then got stuck, and then got going again. Gave up 1 task i didnt need to do. And did another that's done. Now back to my main MIT #1 for the day.

kromer 7:45 CI

OK, I've been not very productive at work this week (apartment-hunting has been taking over my life...), so today is a day to concentrate on that.

My main focus for the day is to finish implementing multicommodity flow...I've been stuck on this for a couple days, but I think that finishing a rough version today is realistic.

I'm going to start with an hour or so of working at home. Here are the specific tasks that I will work on
1)Put node penalty in test constraints file
2)Finish code to write mod file
3)Write code to make dat file
4)Make input source file

update 10:30--in lab now, starting work on code to make dat file.

update 12:00--wrote code to make dat file. Going to lab meeting now. That should be over around 1. Then I'll check the code to make dat file, then make input source file.

update 12:40--done with lab meeting, now time to check code (with a simple sample input). Back when that's done (should take less than an hour)'

update 2:05--checked code: there were lots of bugs, so it took me a while.
Now I'm actually going to spend 20 min editing code to add edges to source/sink, then I'll make input source file, I promise!

update 2:12--OK, adding edges to source/sink was very easy, so now I can make the input source file. Ugh, this is boring--but it's important, and only needs to be done once. Here I go! This should take an hour or 2, updates every 30 minutes or so.

Update 2:55--I'm working on input source file. So far, I've checked eg IDs. Next step is to check whether this changes list of modifier connected coregulators, and whether this adds any new histone modifiers. Then I need to find and check coregulators in multiple categories. Check back when these subtasks are done (about 30 min)

Update 3:45--Above subtasks are done. How did it get to be so late? Now I need to make the source file (should take about 30 min). Then I'll call a potential landlord and email SS, then head to church by 4:30...on the way to church, I'll call AG about house contract.

Update 4:15--Made the source file, now I've finished my 3-day-old MIT of implementing multicommodity flow. I'll need to test it out tomorrow.  Now I'm going to call landlord, get AG's phone number, and email SS. Then I'll head to church.

Rita ci, 10am, 1:45, 4:10 pm and stuck...

Had so much fun learning how to do the graphics for a thread-starter that I'm already running late for my day! :-)

  • WARM-UPS:
  • 1)      Check-in with PA friends (20 minutes) DONE
