To Do:
Read articles on P.A. website to try and develop a plan of action. I'll get this done sometime today.

Well..
I sure did learn a lot about myself from reading the articles, especially on planning. Now I have to implement what I know. One of the biggest problems I have is that I like to believe I can do projects in large chunks of time instead of small bursts. I always almost fail when I do it this way, yet I keep trying. It's better for me to do things a little at time so I don't get overwhelmed. Hopefully this will help.
hi again mandain
> One of the biggest problems I have is that I like to believe I can do projects in large chunks of time instead of small bursts.
i know what you mean. I'm the same way. I'm guessing if you've been reading this site, you know that's common among us here.
It's great to have another person join our group; we're all trying to break tasks down into manageable bites. I've found lately when i do this i can fit a small sub-task of a larger task into the time i'm waiting for something else.
Moving
I am moving next weekend, and am trying to get everything in order, organized, and get the apartment cleaned. I am moving in with a friend for a couple of months to get some money saved up. I am kind of caught in paralysis and not sure what to do next. I don't know if I should start cleaning first, or decluttering, or exactly what. I have a letter from my landlord stating what needs to be cleaned in order to get my security deposit back. Not sure where it is but if I start cleaning it will show up. I need to get a storage garage, but I can get that I think during the week. It is 7:23 and I will probably go to bed at about 10:30 pm, and haven't had supper yet, and there is some personal stuff I want to get done too. And tomorrow, I am going to help a friend move, actually the friend that I will be moving in with, he is buying a 3br condo. I kind of feel bad that I wasn't really able to make more headway with getting things done today. But progress not perfection. I will get it together.

Hang in there. Ya done good just to start looking at the situation via check-in here. The tools and fellowship on this site are making a real difference for me; hope they'll do the same for you.
Thank you, Rita
It is now 8:17 pm, and am just finishing supper. I am getting caught up in the web, I was just on Single Parents.com - a dating site for single parents. Well, that is something that isn't a bad idea, but it is not my priority right now. It is a diversion, I need to keep on task, without shaming myself. I am not defined by my procrastination. But I wanted to turn myself in for my procrastinating tonight. Thanks.

Hi Pro Buddies!
Maybe I can still do some things by the end of the day.
Today: washed/dried/put away 2 loads of clothes, washed 1 load of dishes, bike ride, sponge bath in sink, bought provisions, bought bookshelf, went to the movies, nap.
Tonight: straighten lower level, brush & floss teeth.
Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

It occurs to me that the folks here having the best recovery, are checking-in fairly early in the day...what a novel concept, starting in the morning!
Before I remembered (see freakout Forum) that I have to travel out of state tomorrow, I was planning to use today as a Sabbath and do most of this stuff tomorrow. But then I remembered, so...the bit of rest/napping/lazing around that I did earlier today is all the Sabbath I'm getting. Fortunately Sababth for me is not a religious duty, just a great idea I borrowed from a friend who is a religious Jew. Nevertheless, my focus today is on getting to bed by 10 p.m. Today's plan with HP's help:
11:59 pm
Feels SO good to have that editing job done! But I am sad that once again, I am over-committed and under-slept. Tomorrow I will focus on that goal again. GUess it's taking me awhile to undo the backlog. G'nite all.

Important things to do TODAY:
And I have to leave early this evening, and it's already late in the morning. Yikes! Better get going. . .

Things aren't going efficiently around here. Sort of like I'll get three windows washed, the phone will ring, and the other two don't get done. I'll file the paperwork for two clients, but three more remain on the table. I guess the keyword for a while is "focus". Have a nice day everyone.
Today:
morning things
spiritual time
drop shirts off at cleaners
visit and help friend with his backyard project
spend about two hours doing anything at all in the shop
finish windows
check in this afternoon
e's saturday
hello! Hope all is well on the Globe with everyone.
It got really late and I am not sure how: I slept poorly last night and then was able to fall asleep again this morning. Little bits of laundry getting done, but otherwise not too much headway.
Yesterday was sort of bittersweet: Number 1 son was GORGEOUS in his dad's tuxedo last night (watch out Orlando Bloom), for prom, but sad because he is an ocean away from his girlfriend. He got home at 7 am and crashed. Number 2 son is rebelling and won't go to his 8th grade graduation. The problem with being a parent is that you have to relive your teenage years all over again, but I am in it for the hugs.
For now: sort through bathroom crud to see what we want to move with and set up give away area. Prepack clothing for stay so I can pack the other stuff to ship.

Today is pretty much a work day for me although I somehow need to get some groceries bought and some dinner made. I'm going to be relying on DD for some help today! Have a wonderful weekend all!

I'm pretty behind on work, so I need to focus today.
Tasks:
1)Email about missed house jobs last week
2)Shower, tidy room
3)Finish preparing house contracts
4)Distribute house contracts, email house
5)Walk to lab and check back in
For the rest of the day, I'm having lunch with a friend and would like to take most of the evening off, so I need to focus while I'm in lab.
kromer 12 CI
Going a little bit slow today, but I'm finally in lab now.
I'm going to meet my friend in less than an hour, so I don't have time to focus on big tasks before then. So I'm going to work on a list of small chores now, then have lunch, then get back around 2, finish the list of chores, and move on to a few big tasks.
Chores:
*Update PFAM links
*Email AK, PF
*Answer 2 WM emails
*Finish helping AL
*Print U87 papers
Then, after I finish those tasks, I'll work on 2 larger ones:
*Spend 1 focused hour researching methods for measuring chromatin modifications
*Look at lype of modifiers that interact with coregulators.
kromer 2:30 CI
OK, I updated PFAM links, printed U87 papers, went to lunch, and called my friend.
I want to get my difficult work done before I'm tired, so I'm going to take a break from chores and spend a focused 30 min researching methods for measuring chrom. modifications. When I'm done with that, I'll check back in, and decide whether to continue researching or go back to chores.
Update 3:00--I spend 30 min researching methods...I did a little webflipping in the middle, but I wasn't too awful. My focus is slipping a bit, so I'm going to spend 15 min. looking a methods for measuring nucleosome position, then go back to chores.
kromer 3:40 CI
I ended up spending 30 more min. looking at methods/brainstorming, then I took a 10-min web-surfing break. Now I'm going to get back to chores: I'll finish helping AL, and send 3 emails, then update again.
kromer 5:20 CI
OK, did the above, biked home, called my friend, he's coming over soon.
While I'm waiting for him, I'm going to work on my main remaining work task for today: looking at which type of histone modifiers are connected to coregulators. This task has two parts.
1)(Easy, can make progress now)List number of each type of histone modifer connected to each coregulator
2)(Requires thought, will need to wait until tonight or tomorrow): compute whether this distribution is significantly different that what would be expected by chance
update 5:50--can't do (1), because computer I need to use is down.
I've come up with an approximate way to do (2)...I'll email AD about the computer problem, then I'll work on coding up (2)
