Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.
"Wow, Recycler, what happened with you today?" "Uh, I've been drifting." "Gee, I wonder why?" "Oh, I forgot to do my check-in this morning! Doh!!!"
It's warm here, today, too, so I'm also using that as my excuse! lol
Morning: bike ride, washed & put away 2 loads of clothes, fixed gym & work clothes for this week, read 1 chapter of recovery literature, moving some (not all) storage boxes to another location, researched some decorating ideas.
Afternoon: continue moving storage boxes. Alternate working & resting, since it's warm. Serendipity of anything else :) Talk to you later! :)
I found out why it's so hot! My rental unit Central Air has stopped working on a hot day!!! Eeeeks!!! lol
Fortunately the landlord has agreed to a repair call :)
However, it will be tomorrow mid-day. ((sigh)) lol
So a good bit of this afternoon was "on the telephone" etc.
Then I moved as many dolls as possible to the Lowest Level. I never want my dolls to be warmer than 70 degrees, and right now it is 84 degrees on the main level. Eeeks!!!
Next up: I need to get the condo "presentable" for the repairman. (I'm evidently expecting Martha Stewart and camera crew). While part of my weekly tasks include general clean-ups, things do get stacked here and there. Areas I especially want to review, include flights of stairs. For stray things stacked there, it's "safe enough" but I want it to "look normal" with no stacks. So the rest of the evening I'll see how far I can get with that.
On Home & Garden project, I did one more small (purchasing list) item on it. Next weekend & some other days I will be away from the computer. So if I don't get to work on HG for a while, I need to remember that's not a failure but part of the process of Real Life.
I never heard "ubiquitous" used as a noun before, but it does seem like a good term for all those ever-present tasks that, no matter how often you do them, are still there.
I started writing out MITs this morning before I even got out of bed, because I knew if I didn't I'd lose the morning puttering around and not getting anything done.
Done so far:
Took shower
Did face mask
Ordered b-day present online
Ran dishwasher
To do:
Figure out and make lunch & dinner for tomorrow and Tues.
MITs done. Did that really take an hour?! Going to make muffins. check back 10:30. I am planning to check in frequently today - it's a dreary day here and I could easily spend the whole day playing computer games.
UPDATE 10:45 Muffins are in the oven. Now, straighten my bedroom, make up the bed and prepare the bathroom for the onslaught of dog bathing.
UPDATE 2:25 Well, I've done NONE of those things. I played second life for an hour, then decided to go ahead and make the lasagne for tonight since it can be done ahead of time. I did make my bed though! Now, straighten bedroom, my bathroom, bathe the stinky dog. Oh yeah, and I sorted the laundry - there wasn't much this week as I got completely caught up with it over the long weekend last week. I guess I got some stuff done after all!
UPDATE 10 pm: Night all! Sweet dreams.

OK, this is mostly a day off for me, but I do want to get some stuff done.
I have about an hour before I need to leave for church, and then I'm going to go see A. I plan to get home by 8 at the latest (earlier if possible).
Tasks for new research project:
*MIT 30 min of background reading
*MIT Check EG ids
*MIT get list of ubiquitases
*Look at connections from coactivators to histone modifiers, see how many are modifier binding
*Get comprehensive list of TFs in human
*Look at first 20 coactivators in detail, to see what they do
Other tasks:
*Activate credit card
*Email CY and NR
*Finish data entry
*Make graphs
*Fold laundry
*Post house jobs sheet
*1 hr exercise (I'll just ride my bike to church and to see A)
I'll start by getting list of ubiquitases and checking EG ids. I'd also like to activate credit card, fold laundry, and email CY and NR before church...we'll see how many of these tasks get done!
OK, got list of ubiquitases, need to leave for check in a few minutes but I'm going to fold laundry and activate credit card first, and I'll take some background reading with me.
I went to bed early last night, but I had trouble sleeping. I woke up at 4am with the answer to a programming problem that had been puzzling me.
Besides continuing to work on my pile today (I'm making good progress), I want to clean my bicycle chain and put air in the tires - make my bike rideable after a winter of sitting outside.

I have frequent Martha attacks, but it is getting better due to flylady.com
re: Martha
I've given up on attaining Martha status. Maybe Rachel Ray.

Ubiquitous ubiquitases
Oh, wait. . . I see it's "ubiquitas" not "ubiquitous."
O.k., I give up! Kromer, what the heck are they? (and are they ubiquitous?)
Falcon
ubiquitas
I couldn't find it, we shall have to wait for Kromer the Scientist to explain.
