Keep it Simple. One thing at a time.

Evening

Dang am I far behind. I've used two sick days this week, and I'm still not caught up. Arg.

To do

waaay too much to think about....I think I'm happier not writing anything. I'll get started...soon...

Stupid question...why is my post indented? >.<

I moved your post so it's not indented as a reply.

I didn't get to the moldy things, but I did get the kitty litter scooped!  And got the other things done, including cheering up (the exercise helped, and so did posting here.)

Going to bed now. . . good night,

I've got a final tomorrow and I've a big chunk of chapters yet unread.

Don't you HATE those?  Give yourself the highest ratings!

DONE!

Thank heavens. I don't pick the ratings, I just supply a bulleted list of accomplishments. Still stressful.

Lark, 9:30am

Good morning everyone.I just looked at what I got done yesterday, and I'm rather pleased. Well, except the kitty box. It got a couple scoops of fresh litter... The answer is to just keep moving in the right direction. As we were discussing yesterday, "Success, one day at a time". It's so much easier to have a successful last week instead of a successful NEXT week! I think I just discoverred something significant there. Have a good day everyone.
Today:
morning things
spiritual time
kitty box
keep pile off table
one section of work project A
order supplies
do something to project B
clean workshop
check in here around lunch

Journey 9:30 - and updates throughout the work day - and CO

I have set my MITs for the day.  I don't really feel like doing any of them, so I'm starting with the easiest one.  I have one meeting today, at 10:30, and it's a useless meeting work wise but has some benefit for team building.  Back at noon, by then I will have my easy task done, attended the meeting, and discussed IP addresses with the network dudes.

Update 1:15  That easy task didn't turn out to be so easy and involved a few phone calls!  But it's done.  I'm preparing for my monthly one-on-one meeting with my boss.  I haven't had one in four months, and I don't remember what he said last time.  I'll fake it, he won't remember either.   :P

Update 3:00 had a couple of interruptions but got some work done on the prep for monthly review.  I really hate doing it so I was finding lots of distractions.  But I have the outline done so now I can focus on one section at a time. next, scripts

Update 4:30 major progress on the scripts.   I'm going to work on them a little bit longer then leave for the day.  dd was supposed to cook, but something came up so I'm picking up dinner.  She made pumpkin muffins instead though, so we'll have a healthy breakfast tomorrow!

Tonight, I need to load today's dishes in the dishwasher, assuming dd didn't do it.  As I didn't specifically tell her to, she probably didn't :x.   I also want to do a little bit of laundry, either fold a load or sort the dirties, whichever I'm in the mood for.

Have the day off tomorrow!  I have an appointment to get blood tests in the morning, so I'll skip the gym since I can't eat anything.  I was supposed to do this test in February and I've been putting it off.  I might actually ride my real bike in the real outdoors tomorrow.  I'm not really the outdoorsy type, but this time of year it's nice to be outside.

Today was an ok workday.  I'm glad it's almost over though.

Journey 8:45

Good morning!   I did get to bed early last night for a change, so I'm feeling a bit more rested today.  Still tired from the weekend though, so I need to structure my day so that I can stay focused.  I'm really looking forward to my day off tomorrow.  The weather is supposed to be beautiful.  Maybe I'll *gasp* go outside.

I've been to gym, read and processed my email.  Now I need to set my MITs for the day.

kromer 7:15 CI

Studied for my exam, now I have 1 hr to revise my presentation, then I need to send 2 emails, then leave for exam at 8:30!

kromer 2:50 CI

Revised presentation, had exam (it went OK I think), gave group meeting, had a long discussion, planned out experiment, checked email.

I didn't accomplish my MIT for my new research project yesterday (I did *set* it though, so technically I kept my vow to set an MIT every day...but I still feel pretty bad about it). I have no idea how I'm going to get my MIT/2 hrs work done today, what with finals and lab work that need to get done...but I also know that in the past research has ended up being my last priority when I'm busy, and it needs to be my first.

So my MIT for my new research project is the same as yesterday: to look at expression data across tissues. I *will* get that done today, and I *will* get my two hours of work on the new research project done. If that means I get a lower grade on tomorrow's final, then that's life ;)

Now I have to:
*Write a really scary email (update: done :8 )
*Set cells for experiment
*Walk home
*Look at expr. data across tissues
*Finish reading about biochem of regulation
*Gather econ notes
*Call A.
*Check in again

kromer 8:20 CI

OK, wrote email, set cells, walked home, gathered econ notes, left message for A, had dinner. I'm so panicked about finals that I feel like I can't focus on my research project, argh! Also my ipod has died, so I can't calm down with my music like I normally can :(

Anyhow, I'm going to study econ until 9, then spend an hour working research project (starting by looking at expr. data)

kromer 11 CI

OK, I'm feeling OK about econ, but I haven't done *anything* on my new research project. I commit to working 1 hr on it, starting *now*. First I'm going to work on my MIT for the day, that should take me less than an hour. I'll work in the chatbox and check back here when my MIT is done.

kromer 11:50 CI

OK, done with my MIT!

Now, I'm pretty tired, but I'd like to accomplish some more useful tasks for my research project before bed.

Here are some things I can usefully get done in the next hour or so: once I've finished these, I'll take a shower and go to bed

*Make mapping coregulators->GO categories
*Extract list of steroid-associated coregulators
*Get list of proteins connected to these coregulators in interactome

kromer CO

I fell asleep just after my check in last night...I'm really disappointed in myself that I broke my vow to work 2 hrs/day, but I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'll do extra today.

Keep breathing, kromer!

Hi kromer,

Keep taking deep breaths!

Sorry to hear about your ipod!  I swear that gadgets -- especially computers, but apparently ipods, too -- somehow pick up stress vibes that interfere with their functioning just when we need them most!  Tongue out

Congratulations on getting the scary email done!  You're doing great, and I bet you'll do fine on the finals.

Falcon

Wishing you well

Wishing you well with your exam Kromer.

Hope this is in the right place.

Today up and worked hard on a serious legal/admin issue that has been with me for some time. I have conflicting 'expert' advice and have probably left it all too long. I need to forgive myself and move forward and do my best.

Todo:
have a brief rest and recover a little
I'm not sure what next as I feel I've done a day's work already
