Today is Saturday, the day when all the cats say thank you for cleaning their kitty litter boxes...

pro's last check-in - 11:55pm

I'm still working on my pile and it's much too late for that. I need to go to bed and finish tomorrow.

I've managed to organize all the loose papers into subpiles, each in a folder. I also filed some stuff (actually put it away!), threw away some stuff, and paid one bill.

Tomorrow I'll go through each folder. There's one that's particularly bad with a lot of unpaid bills. I'll start there. The rest is mainly filing (except for the tax folder, of course - the nightmare).

Good night! It was fun doing the chat today and seeing so many people there. I hope we can do it again tomorrow.

pro's CI - 8pm (I messed up)

I waited too long to get the W2 and W3 forms. I'm all messed up. I need to pay the corporate fee and file an extension by March 15 if I don't want even worse problems with my taxes. I need the W2 and W3 to do this. I tried to file electronically, but it won't let me - probably because I'm years behind in filing tax returns. You can't download these forms. I ordered them from the IRS, but they said it takes 7-15 days - too long. I'll try to get them tomorrow at a stationery store. If they don't have them, I'll call my accountant on Monday since he surely has them (and really, I need to do anyway).

Okay, well, this was a blow-out. At least I tried. I'm going to sort the pile now.

running out of table surface

I'm sorting my pile, and running out of places to put subpiles. :-?

I think I'll start with fewer subpiles (combine some stuff), the subsort each subpile.

my stapler fell apart

I just went to staple something and my stapler is all messed up. It just fell apart. I can't imagine how this could happen with it just sitting on my desk. Very weird!

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.

wash-the-dishes break

I'm going to take a break to wash the dishes and brush my teeth before it gets too late. I don't like doing that when I'm tired. Also, brushing my teeth keeps me from eating late at night.

the pile is a relief after a couple hours of taxes

I have to say, after spending the last couple hours trying to make heads or tails of my tax mess, it's a relative relief to go back to my pile. That's easy! I'm going to see how fast I can make it go away.

pro's CI - 4pm (massively frustrated)

I did some other stuff and I was going to begin my pile at 4pm when "This American Life" came on, but I can't change the radio station because I can't find the remote. My radio has no controls on it. All the controls - including the on/off button - are on the remote (bad design!!!!). I've torn my apartment apart and I can't find it. And I have to find it, or I can't control the radio. So I'm all screwed up. I had it just a little while ago - I can't imagine where it went. I crawled all over the floor thinking it must have fallen, but I still can't find it. What a waste of time! :(

found it

It was buried in my pile (of course). Time to start paperwork. That must be a sign from the universe. And there are lots of people in the chatbox. Oh joy! :)

Snow shoveled

I shoveled 8" of snow from my 10,000 mile driveway this morning. I don't have an exaggeration problem! Glad that's done. i got up on a step ladder and cleaned my ceiling fans, which were filthy. I mopped the kitchen, cleaned the bathrooms and cleared the garage. I shined all the stainless in the kitchen and my wife was beaming at me...

I think I might be gettin lucky tonight... yeah! lol:)

12:50 PM pacific time .. Moving Along

Hi ... movingalong here ... in chatbox, ready to do paperwork!

1:05 pm CI for Lark(8:48)

Hi everyone. Bad weather here--about two inches of ice. My car got partially stuck on the edge of the drive, and someone read me the riot act for obstructing traffic. I wish I could procrastinate at him. There are two things for work I want to do today, and the rest of the day will be housework and leisure.
Today:
(X) first thing for work
 next work project
 housework
 (X)???

Journey noon It's snowing here!

or it was snowing a few hours ago, it's mostly melted by now.  I skipped the gym this morning but did my yoga to a video at home.  I diligently practiced my headstead, but still can't get all the way up.  My yoga teacher says I have the strength to do it now, but it's scary!  I'll keep trying . . . my regular teacher is out of town for two weekends, visiting her ex-husband (what's up with that??) and I hope that when she comes back I'll be able to show her my headstand, at least be able to do it against a wall if not free standing.  anyway, I'm rambling - on to the todo list.  I have done nothing so far today besides my exercise .  . .

My list is in todoist - but next up is making a grocery list!

raining here (headstand!)

I used to be able to do a headstand when I was much (much) younger. I haven't tried for years and I'm in much worse shape now. If you can do that, I'm impressed!

I joined a gym recently and I have my fitness assessment tomorrow (part of the initiation fee). I'm a little nervous about it. I'm a lazy slug. But with what I'm paying for membership at this gym, I think I should start going.

pro's fitness assessment

exercise rocks!  I'm certainly no hardbody (you've seen my picture lol) but I feel so much more energetic and younger when I exercise regularly.

I know you have some health problems that make it difficult - and those trainers don't always understand that - but go for it!!

kromer 9:50 CI

I've been feeling blue the past couple days, which has made it hard to get stuff done...but I'm going to do my best (and not beat myself up too much if I mess up...)

Next up:
*Turn on website blocker
*Finish printing out info for interview
*Print out Spanish
*Finish reading biochem paper
*Print out biochem lecture notes
*Do 1 problem from biochem pset
*Check in again

kromer 12

OK, printed out and read over interview info, printed out Spanish, made progress on biochem paper, and took a short walk (thanks for the suggestion edge, it did make me feel a bit better).

Now: get through the rest of bio paper (7 more pages to go!) and print off bio lecture notes
UPDATE 1: Finally done with the bio paper! Now to print out lecture notes!

kromer 1:40 CI

Lecture notes+papers from class found and printed out (wow, I was slow...but at least it's done now!)

I'm going to work until 2:30 on my pset, and try to get 1 problem completely done. Then I'm going to take the rest of the day off (at least most of it!)

Update 2:05 To make progress on my pset, turns out I need to read another paper--it's only 7 pages, think I should be able to get through it before I go.

Feeling down

Going for a walk usually cheers me up, even if it does take up 15-20 minutes of my time :) Maybe you should try something similar, a change of scenery to shake the depression off, Kromer. Hope you feel better *hug*

procrastimaniac CI

Today I need to index at least 10 journal articles. Additionally, I'd like to divide up the work into at least 3 sessions:cool::, so I practice getting started--my greatest challenge.

I'd like to do 2 articles this morning by 11am, 4 in the afternoon while I am volunteering at an information desk, and the other 4 this evening in lieu of watching a movie on TV.

I feel so encouraged by my success yesterday:-)   ::smile::, after weeks, actuall;y, many years, of feeling frozen into inaction.

pro's CI - 9:30am

I had a nice breakfast, and wrote a long email to a friend. Now I'm getting dressed and leaving for the 10am meeting.

See you later in the PAPERWORK CHATBOX!!

pro's CI - 7:55am

I'm following my morning routine, but I'm not logging my time like I do in the week. I'm ready to go make breakfast now.

I'm going to a meeting this morning at 10am. I'm always late. Let's see if I can get there on time today!

I have a to-do list for the weekend that I just jotted down on a pad. Should have jotted it down here instead. Oh well. Later.

e's check in

Hello all! I missed you a lot this past few days, and I am glad it is the weekend. I am thinking that I might be here at times doing the chatbox paperwork circle so if you are here, check the chatbox and come by to say hello!

Today:
I am grateful for Douglas who helps me to get honest with myself
I am grateful for the lovely basketball children who have come to visit but will leave today
I am grateful to to have food in the house
I am grateful for living close enough to work that I have been walking it, and that because I have been walking I can climb the 5 flights of stairs to the office and to our apartment without feeling cruddy. (that is a real miracle)
I am grateful for my husband who I can hear is up making breakfast (I hope!)

today: pick up clothes from grouchy tailor, wash sheets from guests bedding, pack up for trip to the Peloponese, buy kite makings, find bagel recipe on the web, clean the pigeon poo off the veranda, do something sweet with my sweetie....

e check back

okay, tailoring picked up, basketball game watched, thank you notes given, dishwasher emptied and filled, sheets stripped, living room straightened, oj purchased, stairs walked, sink wiped out... now for the PAPERWORK.... right after I call my friend....

PAPERWORK CHATBOX, here here!! (or is that hear hear!!)

I'm going to an OA meeting with a friend this morning, then out for coffee after. When I get back, I'll be ready to work! I have a lot of paperwork this weekend - mainly because I didn't manage to work on it during the week.

See you later in the chatbox!!

Cleaning poo!

Cleaning poo off the veranda has to be right up there with cleaning the kitty litter box.

How was the grouchy tailor?

Peace,
Karen

grouchy tailor

The grouchy tailor was cordial today, probably because his daugher has a manicure business she is beginning and he noticed my nails look like they  have been cleaning pigeon poo off the veranda....

veranda cleaning

an EXTREMELY unpleasant task: if you don't get to it quickly pigeon poo gets baked on by the sun. In fact, kitties boxes are much easier to deal with, because kitties don't have a tendency to fly.

Kitty litter vs Pigeon poo

Lol, I agree xD And at least in the case of kitty litter, all you need to do is throw out the old litter, wash the box and refill it; no scraping involved :) And yet, it's a muchly unpleasant task  I feel with you, Elisaveth :-)
