I'm bringing the whole folder with me. I can do some more sorting at my destination. Gotta go, running late. I'm packing up my computer after this check-in.
Eat breakfast and wash dishes. File part of pile. Go through folder of medical stuff - further sort it, and pull out papers I need for trip. Fix rent payment online (rent went up). Paid credit card bills. Take shower and get dressed. Wash soap dish. Lay out pills and take first dose for today. Pack for trip. Make food for trip. Wash dishes.

to do: - burn CDs - return library items - clock 7 hours - xml thang done - mouseover - fix for IE - meeting at 4 PM - bring suit to get it cleaned - pay CARE bill
10 tasks that I'd love to get done before the end of the year:
1) assemble filing cabinet 2) assemble CD rack 3) clean office 4) swap monitors 5) catch up on comics 6) finish The Monk 7) call family/friends 8) clean bedroom 9) set up dr. appointment 10) get a haircut
I'm starting to run late. I may have to take the folder with me rather than go through it here.

So far today, I've given my nasty dogs a bath, cleaned the bathroom - not thoroughly but passably, and had a nice bath myself. I got a new video camera for Christmas - which is another story because dh charged it and we really don't need another bill. But I took many videos of the grandbaby and I've been learning how to put them on dvd. So I've been fairly busy although I don't feel that I've gotten much done. I'm also depressed at seeing how fat and old I am on those videos!
Now, I'm going to take a break and eat something healthy. I've lived on chocolate covered cherries and pumpkin pie for the last two days. I also need to strike a balance between resting enough to get over this cold and staying busy enough that I will sleep tonight with this stuffy nose.
I hope everyone had a happy holiday whether you spent the time with family or alone!
Next up, lunch break, then straighten the l.r. from last night's gift exchange and do some laundry.

Hello all! Had a good day off yesterday :) Now it's time for work (though not too much, don't want to ignore my family) In the next few days, I would like to get the following done: *Analyze and post expt results *Finish UCSD app *Fill out forms for NDSEG and DOE fellowships *Finish The Senior Project Introduction *Figure out how to use human interactome, find connects to AMPK *Exercise regularly *Read my Bible
I'm feeling quite unmotivated, so I'll start with the NDSEG and DOE forms, that's nice and easy and needs to be done. (Is it a bad plan to start with the easiest task? What do you guys think?) Will check back when the forms are done.
Sometimes I find it helpful to start with the easiest task because it gets me rolling & once I've accomplished something it seems easier to tackle the hard stuff.
Other times it works better for me to eat the ugliest, most bug-eyed frog first. Especially at work, I'm often most productive if I start the day by "cringe-busting"-- plunging into the hardest thing & getting it done first.
And sometimes I just figure if I get ANY productive task done I'm doing pretty good. :-)
OK, NDSEG and DOE apps are actually not very easy. I finished the NDSEG form and now I need a bit of motivation (that's why I'm checking in now) Next, I will: ->Join SWE ->fill out DOE forms ->go for a run ->write research descriptions for NDSEG
Research Summaries are done. I'm going to take a short break from computer work, because my wrists are killing me...I'll go put away my Christmas gifts and read my Bible. I'll be back in about 10 minutes, to chose an area of specialization for NDSEG.
Don't really know: the month of December ate me. It was very very busy at work and then my kids flew away last week and my husband and I have been solo and that has been magnificent, but nothing got done. Many of the habits I thought were habits flew the coop, so I am down on my knees again, admitting I am a procrastinator, will always be a procrastinator, and need to check in!
Today: meds waterX bedX laundryX ironingX handwash half done bathrooms tubs left kitchen x fridge x paperwork large dent made dustmop kitchen floor pack pick up test results check in, check in, check in!

I have a few days off and want to get some things done. All those things that I've been saying "oh, I can get that done during my time off" are now staring balefully at me!
So. . .
Shower, dress and be "at work" by 10:30
Look through The Pile and my to-do list and set priorities for the next few days
Whoops. . . I totally let myself get sidetracked & started reading a book. ::blush:: Can you tell I'm less than enthusiastic about looking at The Pile? I'd really like to just curl up and read all day. Sigh.
O.k., NOW I'm going to go get in the shower, dress and look through You Know What.
Pro, I'll use you for inspiration! You've been getting a lot done on your pile lately, so if you can do it, maybe I can, too!
Getting myself to do anything is like pulling teeth today. I did tackle The Pile a bit, though, balanced my checkbook and discovered I'm not as broke as I thought I might be, so that's a good thing.
I think I'm feeling sleepy and lazy partly due to winter depression, so I'm going to give my to-do list a quick going over, figure out some priorities, and then haul myself out for a short walk to get myself woken up a bit.
Well, I decided to switch gears. I realized I just wasn't going to concentrate on any indoor chores today, so I went out and did a bunch of errands. Some of them were errands that I'd been putting off since the paleolithic era, so I felt good about getting them done.
Well, darn! I can't get to my martial arts class tonight because it's sleeting here. Sleet is just nasty.
That means I absolutely have to do at least 40 minutes of exercise this evening. Not right away, because I just ate, but some time before bedtime. I have plenty of exercise videos but don't feel much like doing any of them. Bleah.
1. File part of pile. 2. Go through folder of medical stuff - further sort it, and pull out papers I need for trip. 3. Fix rent payment online (rent went up). 4. Take shower and get dressed. 5. Lay out pills and take first dose for today. 6. Pack for trip. 7. Make food for trip.

There are so many things to do, and I don't feel like doing much at all. For the next couple of hours I'm going to take my kitchen timer, and if I start something, I'll set the timer for half an hour or so. Wish me luck, as I fear I'll be back at lunchtime all p'ed off and frustrated. Good luck everyone.
Actually today went okay. A major task got finished, along with other things. I'm doing a 10th Step, sort of going over today before I turn in, and there's only a little I have to remedy tomorrow. Good night everyone.
Good morning everyone, and hope your holiday was merry.
I felt like moldy ass yesterday with this nasty cold but struggled through the celebrations and of course I am grateful for having family around to celebrate with. I hope I didn't infect anyone, I carried my hand sanitizer with me everywhere and used it before I touched anything! I hope I'm not too contagious since I'm getting better. I heard you are most contagious when you first get a cold, I hope that's true.
I'm on vacation the rest of the week and I'd like to make some progress on organizing around here but first I'd better focus on just getting caught up with the normal chores.
Right now, I'm going to get dressed flylady style and make my todo list for the day. Back by 10.
I got up a bit past 7am. I emptied the dish drain, wiped down the microwave, swept the kitchen floor, and did a few other miscellaneous things.
I'm going out of town today, but before I leave I'm going to work on my pile for a bit. There's something I need for my trip in one of my sorted sub-piles. But I don't want to dawdle too much - I want to get on the road early.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
Thanks, yes, I did finally make progress on the pile - first time since August. (I had unfiled mail in there from August.) I have a lot more to do, but it's not as odious now I've made a start and it's at least a bit in order.
