To all who celebrate christmas -- happy last minute shopping-wrapping-cooking-cleaning-decorating day!  ;-)

Peace, joy and a happy holiday to everyone!

pro's CI - 9:45pm

Okay - it's all packed up and the table folded back up. I can go to sleep now.

I've got a lot more to do. Getting it sorted was the least of it. I want to get as much done on this during my vacation as I can. Until I catch up a little more, it's hard for me to spend small amounts of time on it here and there when I have it, and it simply must get done. I have to file my tax returns this year - all of them.

pro's CI - 9:30pm

I got through the pile and I want to pack up now, but I can't find my bag of paperclips. I'm getting a headache.

pro's CI - 9pm

I'm still trying to get through this pile, but I'm not quite there and I'm starting to really, REALLY not want to do it anymore. I don't think I should torture myself with this or it will be even harder to get started on it next time. The thing is, I have to close up the table in order to be able to go to bed, and if the papers aren't fully filed I can't easily close up the table. I'll have to figure this out so I can stop now.

rr's ci 8:35

finished:
gifts for relatives in the west
typed up story
typed up receipts for the week

to do this week:
finish shopping/making gifts
look at job ads
edit story

pro's CI - 8:30pm

The worst of the dishes are washed (the stuff that gets really hard to clean when food is dried on). I'm going to try to finish going through the pile. Once everything is sorted, I can start to work on stuff (e.g. filing medical claims, back tax returns). That won't be tonight, of course. If I can finish sorting the pile and filing, that will be a big accomplishment. I might not be able to finish tonight.

pro's CI - 7:55pm

I made some dinner, and now I have a pile of dirty dishes to wash. Ugh.

pro's CI - 6:10pm

I'm still going through papers, but I'm starting to fade. This is a bad point at which to quit because the papers aren't fully sorted and there's no easy way to save where I am. Maybe I'll take a break.

pro's CI - 5:10pm

Still sorting papers - endless papers. And watching TV. Might be faster without the TV but then I'd die of boredom.

Most of the reason it's slow-going is I have to figure out where to put things. I think indecision about that is a big part of why the pile has gotten so large.

Pile

Hi Pro. My pile is still there, but I've managed to keep it way down lately. A minute or so each day helps, along with some of those cardboard pocket folders. I also picked up a small two drawer filing cabinet for folders, and it's just great.

pro's CI - 4pm

I got through all the unopened envelopes. Now I'm starting on the main giant pile. I need more surface, even with the table open. I can't begin to work on this stuff until I get it sorted.

pro's CI - 3pm

I emptied the paper shredder, in preparation for more shredding.

The table is open and I'm sorting papers. I have a lot of stuff to take care of, but the unsorted papers makes for a huge mess, so filing is my first priority.

I turned off the movie I was watching. It was extremely violent. I won't watch movies like that. How can people find violence and torture amusing??

pro's CI - 2pm

I ate lunch (too much dessert) and washed the dishes. I'm going to open the table now for major paper sorting. I'm also watching a movie while I do this. Sorting papers is boring and doesn't take my entire brain.

pro's CI - 12:15pm

I'm back from my errands. I enjoyed my walk on this nice day, and I got some things I needed - plus went to the post office. Good thing I went early - post office closes at 1pm today. I bought some food at a salad bar for lunch, and I'm going to eat that now - then the PILE.

Journey 10 am

Good morning everyone.  sounds like those who have checked in have been fairly productive the past few days!

I came down with a nasty cold Friday afternoon so I have been taking it easy - luckily I was pretty much ready for Christmas and I'm not having any company.  I was supposed to make some food for Christmas Eve at my parents tonight but I begged off and I'm taking cheese and crackers from the store.  I don't think they want me to make germy food for them anyway!

I'm feeling a little better today and I have a few last minute things to do.

- activate and wrap phones (yes, this has been on my list for two weeks)
- put cash in cards for kids
- clean off table
- dishes
- charge my phones
- Call pharmacy
- Set up BP online
- straighten lr
- sort laundry
- go through pile o' christmas junk in bedroom corner
- review my personal action list
- pack stuff to take to party
- party - just drop in and leave, don't want to give everyone my cold

Journey 10:22

Ok been playing Travian instead of getting started.  Now, I shall, make some hot tea and honey and have a bagel, get dressed, and take care of the phones.  Back around noonish.

journey 3pm

OK, table and pile o' junk done, laundry sorted, and I'm on a roll.  Now to wrap the things that have to be wrapped for tonight!  Then do dishes and get ready for the party.  That'll do for today.  dh is out getting the last minute stuff that I forgot (thanks sweetie!)

I just realized I have to put together 48 effing cardboard blocks either tonight or in the morning.  Maybe I can find someone to assist me in this task:)

I hope Santa is good to each and every one of you, and Merry Whatever YOu Celebrate!

pro's CI - 9am

I got up at 8am. I'm having ice cream for breakfast - ice cream with fudgy cookies crumbled in. I made the ice cream yesterday. I made the cookies yesterday, too.

It's a nice day today, after raining all day yesterday. I'm going to go to the post office and grocery store first thing. I never got outside yesterday, and I need a walk and to get out.

And then... pile, pile, pile.

8:42 CI for Lark

Hi everyone. I'm in a slightly "bah, humbug" mood today, sort of at the mercy of everyone and everything lately. I have no family locally  that's close, and though I'm blessed with some nice friends, I feel obligated to honor their invitations for later today. Unfortunately, there's a huge vacuum tomorrow, so..."one day at a time".
Today:
 morning routine
spiritual time (though I don't feel like  it)
 straighten up house
sort out schedule for this evening
 wrap last minute gifts
clean up main mess in workshop

Scurrying

Yikes!  I overslept and am behind schedule, with company coming tonight!  Gotta scurry, though I feel like going right back to bed.  I'm glad I kept the menu, etc. simple, so I'm not totally overwhelmed.

Next up:  shower, dress, walk to the store.

Falcon

Cooking

Back from the store.  Next up:  cube the bread, make the potato salad, make the cranberry relish.  Wonder if I can do all that in the next hour?  Here goes. . .

Falcon

Coming along

O.k., got the cooking done and the gifts wrapped.  Now I need to eat something and then spend 30 minutes or so starting on tidying up.

Falcon

Peanut butter

Did you ever have one of those days where you feel like you're walking through peanut butter?  I'm having that kind of day.  Not feeling real well (nothing serious, just hormones/cramps and adjusting to new meds I'm taking) so it seems like I'm plodding through everything.

Not doing too badly, though.  Next up:  do some more cleaning, then some decorating.

Falcon

molasses

I thought people slogged through molasses - didn't know they slogged through peanut butter, too. ;-)

Yes, I know what you mean. :-)

peanut butter

I thought this post was going to be about EATING peanut butter.  Sounds to me like you're doing great Falcon!

Journey

Eating peanut butter

Thanks, Journey!  I actually did eat peanut butter for lunch -- though not with molasses.  :-)

Still feeling pretty wiped out, and still have a bunch of things to do, but I think I'll be set by the time my folks come over.

Enjoy the holiday, everyone!
