I had a pretty good day but still didn't get to the Spanish. It's just a class for fun, not for a grade, but I'm really wanting to learn it for a trip I've got coming up and I just can't seem to stay caught up on it. I ended up in a meeting tonight at church that lasted 3 hours so that didn't help any. I'm going to work on it for about 15 minutes and then go to bed.

Thx for Quicken/Microsoft comment. In your opinion, which is more user-friendly (just for home finances)? I lose interest easily (that ADD thing), if something isn't easy or fun I won't keep up with it. Thinking it might help with the financial procrastination, though.
I can't judge which is easier at this point because I'm biased by how much better I know Quicken.
I have ADD, too. That doesn't make you lose interest in things. It makes your attention intermittant - sometimes hyperfocusing, sometimes unable to focus.

I dropped a grape on the floor and it rolled away somewhere I can't find it. There are mice in this building and I don't want to leave food on the floor, but I've looked everywhere - I don't know where it went. :(
I need to get into the shower.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
For some reason I found myself laughing with relief at your comment: I could obsess all day about a missing grape. Then there are other days when I can't find the energy to pick up money I have dropped.... even if I need it for lunch.
Already a messed up day - I was on the way to work and had to turn around and come back home to stay with dd. She's been having some really weird stomach problems and doc gave her some meds that made her violently ill.
So I"m telecommuting today - and I'm not good at telecommuting as you know.
This is what my horoscope says for today, and the fact that I am reading my horoscope instead of working should tell you something already lol: "See if you can find a new way to keep yourself focused, because it's just way too easy for you to get sidetracked today."
So you guys are the "new way to keep myself focused" ok?
I'm gonna drink a large quantity of coffee and have a luna bar (luna bars=awesome) and get it together. I'll be back with a well-thought-out doable list in 30 minutes.
Lunch break - still haven't made my todo list for the day lol, but when I checked my email I had several small tasks to take care of this morning, so I went ahead and got those few things done. Back in an hour.
Not too bad for a telecommuting day - I'm "on call" which means I'm the point person for my team for problems/questions/little shit and that stuff kept me busy all day. Had lots of interaction which tends to keep me on task too. So, meh, was ok. although didn't make any progress on the yucky project or the financial paperwork. Ask me if I care.
I had trouble sleeping last night and stayed up really late. Then I got up late and now I'm late for work. Off to a great start. ::sigh:: I'd wanted to go through some papers this morning. I'd better get dressed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
Came back from my interview a few hours ago. I really hope I did well - I loved the company and the duties the position requires. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they liked me back :-) Anxious about the steps I need to take, though, and not entirely sure whether I should make the transition or not. Going to think about it for a day before getting back to them.

Never mistake motion for action – Ernest Hemingway
I feel tired and fed up and am having a lot of difficulty preparing for the meeting with the psychologist tomorrow. It's not going to be perfect and maybe if it were I wouldn't be needing to see him.
I've just about finished preparation for psychologist tomorrow. I've hear from old solicitor who doesn't want to give me my file (he has to and I have checked this). I'm fed up and I'm going to bed.
I can tell that I am in a funk because I feel like a victim today: the fact that I am not making headway in my tasks I am blaming on having been away, the unexpected needs of others, etc., etc. I finally checked back in on Sunday's check in and found that I had worked again, but not on what I had set out to do.
Today I must finish the annual report. I am having all sorts of anxiety build up within me because I did not get nearly as much accomplished as I had wanted to this past year (procrastination anyone?) that I don't feel good about the work that I have done. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting through the anxiety? Today I have the following on my check in list: annual report, tax work, clean bathrooms, plan dinner If I do any one of these things I will feel better. However, I think I need to chunk them down to bite sized pieces: second draft of annual report to colleague for input. charitable contributions for taxes and a meal with protein, carbohydrates and vegetables
Well, it was a somewhat productive day. I did make headway on the annual report, but it got derailed by a needy colleague. I have figured out that a sandwich with tomato slices will suffice to fit making dinner if all else fails. The dread that had been hanging over me has disipated, but I am not sure why. I asked for input on the draft of the annual report so I can get unstuck if I am still stuck tomorrow.
