Special Projects and Master Lists

This forum is for checking in on the progress of large, multi-day projects like a thesis or catching up on tax returns. It's also a good place for master to-do lists, gratitute lists, New Year's resolutions, and other non-daily items.

30 days of crunches

Inspired by wrkinprogress's thread.

I just want to do 30 crunches everyday and 30 butt lifts every day for a month and see if it makes me feel better about my body. I'm quite out of shape as I spend most of my time in school/taking care of my baby. Might be a silly thing, but I'm really frustrated with how I look and want to do something about it.

SEEKING TIME/WORK SPONSOR - no perfection required!

Dear all,

I'm really in need of a sponsor because, it turns out (laughter intended), i can't do this alone!

I am reminded recently that I tend to do better with a sponsor to whom I look for help in conjunction with being of service to my own sponsees, rather than just having peer-to-peer relationships -- for some reasonable I'm just less likely to feel obliged to be accountable or follow through with my commitments in the latter situation.

Seeking short-term buddy

Hi all!

I have a work task that absolutely MUST be done twice a day, and I just haven't been able to get myself to do it consistently. I got chewed out this morning for neglecting it (I deserved it!), and the consequences if I don't get my butt in gear are pretty serious.

I'm wondering if there's someone who would be willing to check in with me once or twice a day (ideally by phone, but email or chatbox would be OK too) for the next few weeks, to help keep me accountable. I need to develop the habit of doing this properly!

Innertruth's apartment clean-up and bookkeeping, tax issues

My place is a disaster and I haven't done my bookeeping in more than 2 years. Need to get o/s tax returns completed. YellWon't be a problem filing as I don't owe. But I sure could use the refunds.

Finding a way's piano practice goal

This is the first time I have posted a project.

I want to start doing at least 15 minutes of piano practice each day unless I am away from home (and my piano!).

I have not played any piano for a few weeks and seems like the longer I leave it the harder it gets to start again. But would really like to break through that barrier!

Tonight (November 7th) will be my first practice.

Wish me luck!

Wingart: 5-7 Page Major Paper

Hey! I have a paper that is due on Thursday. But it's only the first draft. And it's a huge one also. So, yeah. I haven't started on it because of you-know-what. But I decided to write this topic to get an idea of my journey through small steps (I may chronicle my experience in my journal).

vimto99 goal to score 400 by November 8

Hypatia's reports project

I am sick of having a backlog of reports to write, and it's getting embarrassing when my secretary spots something I should have done months ago.  I have 24 sets of reports in the backlog, and anything between 1 and 4 sets coming in new each week.

The project is to get the incoming stuff done within 3 working days, and the backlog to be completed before Christmas.  I'm going to mark the sets off here as I do them.

Ian's personal-vision project

10.10.2011

If I'm not mistaken, it's been about 11 months since I added a similarly named project to my task-management program ... and I've done next to nothing to produce something. Clearly, this is something I'm going to need some support around.

First--Seeing it. Next--Divesting myself of it.

Stuff. Stuff to shed. Like a snake sheds his old skin. There's no good reason to have so many items in my humble abode.

I know this strange algamation is all I have in the world, but I don't require it to go on. The old anxiety about never having enough may finally be over.

So...

Plan a trip to the dump, and recycling center (is there such a thing?), to the thrift store, to the second hand clothing store.

Things to do before Midterms

So I've fallen behind in some work and I will enumerate it all in the hopes of getting it all done before midterms. They are on different days, but overall if done by the 18th I will be ecstatic. If I can get all these done I'll see about going to a party or something else fun that weekend.

wrkinprogrss medium-term goal: 100 days in a row of Qi Gong

I've decided that I want to make a goal of doing at least 15 minutes of Qi Gong (Chi Gung) exercises a day for 100 days in a row. I've done this before and got good benefit from it. Lately, I haven't given my exercises as much priority as I want. So, I'm trying out posting it as a goal, here. I'd love to have one or more cheerleaders, if anyone feels like commenting with an occasional "Yay" or "wtg" or suchlike!

Thanks in advance for witnessing!

PA September Habit of the Month: Picking out clothes the night before

PA August Habit of the Month: Arrive at Scheduled Events 20 Min Early

I'm scared of this goal, but if I can do it, I will be REALLY proud of myself for once.

I'm 5-15 min late for everything. I don't like to leave the house... takes me a decade (ocd + agoraphobia not a good combo for getting your butt out the door). I've also learned that I don't like rushing to places or showing up late; makes my stomach turn.

In truth, whether I'm showing up early or late, I'm still gonna have to leave the house at SOME point and I won't like it (inevitable), but I would feel better getting to my destination on time rather than late.

PA July Habit of the Month: Get Ready to Start Day within 15 Min of Waking Up

So I finally mastered waking up on time via last month's goal. But it's been less useful because I don't force myself to get showered and dressed to the shoes (thx flylady!) right away. My  new goal: shower within 15 min of waking up. Alternately, if I'm going to go to the gym in the AM (which might happen SOME DAY... oh SOME DAY!) I must go within 15 min of waking up. Gotta get rid of all the morning wasted time sitting around in pajamas. Momentum is the key for me!
