Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.

Face-to-face meetings in NYC?

There used to be a fellowship in New York City called Latecomers and Procrastinators Anonymous (LA). It was never a very active fellowship, and now I'm not sure if it's active at all and I don't have a contact person. I'm not sure it was ever formally organized, but they had a nice "laundry list", which I'll post elsewhere on this site.

There used to be a Wednesday meeting at the Realization Center, but that's not there anymore - I called tonight. There was another meeting on Monday nights - the original meeting. That may still be going, but it's in a very inconvenient place for me on the Upper East Side, so I don't want to go all the way up there just to find out it's gone. Also, it wasn't that strong a meeting. But FYI, here is where it was - again, I don't know if it's still there:

Latecomers & Procrastinators Anonymous of New York City
(note: this is LA, not PA - this Web site is PA)

Mondays 6-7:30pm

St. Jean Baptiste Church (basement)
184 East 76th Street at Lexington Avenue
New York, NY

Warning: I don't know if this meeting is still in existence!

PA meeting in NYC

I've decided against starting a DA meeting for procrastinators. I don't need DA, I need PA, so I'm going to start a face-to-face PA meeting in NYC. I'll email the people in DA who said they would be interested.

Anyone here interested? It will be in the West Village - probably in a coffee shop to start since we'll have no money for rent (unless I set up a Contributions button here).

nobody here in NYC?

I want to start the face-to-face PA meeting in NYC in September, so I thought I'd ask again if there's anyone here in the New York area who'd be interested in coming to a face-to-face meeting.

DA meeting for Procrastinators in NYC

I'm starting a DA (Debtors Anonymous) meeting for procrastinators in NYC. That's easier than starting a new fellowship meeting, and who knows - maybe it will lead to a true Procrastinators Anonymous meeting.

If you live in NYC and you are interested in attending, please use the contact form to send me email. Make sure to type your return email address correctly so I can write you back, tell me your name (just a first name is fine), include your phone number if you want, and tell me when you would be available. I'm leaning towards Monday or Tuesday evening, at the moment. The meeting would be in the West Village - probably either at St. Vincent's Hospital or in the Gay & Lesbian Center on 13th Street. (The meeting wouldn't be for gays and lesbians specifically - that's just a place to meet.)

Of course, if enough people respond to this notice, then maybe we can start a true Procrastinators Anonymous meeting.
