Thomas C., actively procrastinating

Or maybe I should be a little kinder to myself and say that I am hugely tired, because I stayed up late last night to finish a lecture (which also involved about an hour of procrastination, which is an hour of sleep I didn't get).

I just took a long nap, and then spent 1/2 hour or so going to websites that I haven't been to in some time: academic employment sites (don't need them, got that job), news websites, celebrity websites. Ran out of bookmark buttons--I mean, I was actively, creatively procrastinating, which I usually do when I'm tired--and then I saw this site's bookmark.

I really haven't posted here as consistently as I have wanted to, because I usually don't on weekends, and often can't on Monday or Wednesday, which are crazy days.

Anyway, posting is helping me settle, focus, and be ready to get back to work. It always does.

To do:

- go over lecture that I'm about to give
- one hour of work on article I'm writing
- revise study guide for final exam

Tomorrow:

- one hour of work on article
- start grading third paper for students

Thomas C., end of day

After class: now I have a half-hour in which I could work on an article before I have to go home, but here I am in my office, that death-spiral-time-sink-procrastination-hellhole-giant-sucking-sound place.

You know, when I put it that way, it's TOTALLY worth five minutes of walking to the library to get that half-hour of work done. So here I go.

Just got to 'home and take it easy for a while'. This afternoon learnt that the project I work on is closing is two weeks time. I feel sad.

Rexroth 21.42 GMT

The take it easy has been going for a long while and I've spent a lot of time on the computer but I have done the washing up and tidyed the kitchen. I'm very tired and so am going to bed soon. This is exactly how I felt yesterday and when I went to bed I couldn't sleep.
