Thomas C. end-of-day check-in

Didn't get very far into my list today. I did spend some time collecting the new article from my dissertation, then spent too much time on finding lecture material. Then I did send a couple of things in the mail, but got nothing else done--office hours, and six students showed up.

Very frustrating. maybe there's some time during this weekend to get the lectures done, but weekends tend to go fast. Anyway, I will check in tomorrow.

Hi, everyone. I'm really tired. The double white mocha is finally kicking in, but it's taken some time.

Anyway, I read the posts responding to my post on time-bingeing (thanks, all), and I get the point, especially as an academic. Write every day, not too much every day. So here's my list for today:

* collect various sections of dissertation into one article (that's the first step in writing this article)
* mail report and letter of recommendation
* grade quiz, add grades to gradebook
* decide whether to write new quiz--if so, write it
* get source books, rewrite lecture for class 1
* rewrite lecture for class 2

If I get this far, it will be amazing. At 1 p.m., I have to plant myself in a spot at the library and hold office hours.
