marcelor's Sunday

Focus on new story-line. I am not a victim; I can make choices for myself.

3T's are a good example

...of why I shouldn't stay away so long! Hadn't heard them before and am just checking back in for the first time in months...of course bc I've a messy deadline I've been procrastinating too long and now face the potential fallout.

Leaving the after-church restaurant now and driving home through the sunshine, passing all the parks and things I'd much rather do in a Sunday, to my dingy office to break this down into timed tasks that must be done today!! I'll work in chat thereafter to "git 'er done!"

and pray for HP to remove this oozing self pity...

hazyjane sunday panic

Thanks for the starter Jalla, it's a real challenge for me though at the moment. I am so 'off plan'.

Deadline absolute and final looms, and I persist in thinking, 'I have time for lunch, and coffee, and a snack, and to go shopping, and to take the longest possible (time and distance) route to the library, which is only open for four hours anyway, so \i've officially wasted... over two hours already. I feel so bad about this,  but I NEED to muster up some of that self belief and I know the tools, I know the number one thing is to stay focussed... except I can't even bring myself to GET focussed in the first place...

OK, finish lunch, get going, reward self with coffee at 3pm if I've done anything approaching five hundred words... which surely is doable, I'm a born writer... really...just not essays...

Now to the chat room for moral support.

It's an inside job...

Lucky CI

I have issues around having a 'day off', so today I'm declaring a 'day of extra freedom' (not a 'day of freedom' because I'm not a slave the rest of the time!) Permission to do anything, including work, if it's what I want to do. I'll still be using the chatbox to help me consciously choose what I do - I want ACTUAL rest and fun today rather than miserable helpless internetting. On a day of extra freedom, there's no need for joyless procrastination activities because there are no 'shoulds' to procrastinate on!

Things I definitely WANT to do today are:

Check route & closing time for phone shop

Take phone to shop

Set 2nd alarm

The ’3Ts’ aka ’Timed Task Tomorrow’ method - 3 questions before doing something online:
Is it Timed (set a timer)? Is it a Task? If it's a sudden impulse, can I act on it Tomorrow?
