“I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.”
Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom: Autobiography of Nelson Mandela

Sunday CI Hazyjane

Thanks Jalla, wonderful starter, and a nice way of paying tribute to a great human being :)

I've been quite forgetful of P-A since my last deadline, and now there's less than a week to the next one (well, just over a week, technically, but I'll be travelling..) and here I am, back again. What I need to do is BE CONSISTENT!!! Is that really so unattractive to me, or so difficult that I can't even make the ATTEMPT??? No, of course not. I just need to gently remind myself, frequently, that this is what I need to do if I want to do all the other things that follow from having a good education and a decent degree!!!

So, Sunday, have at thee:

  • walk dogs/vist friend
  • housework: declutter a bit, hoover a bit, put on load of washing
  • get books out!!! Study!!! Take notes!!!!
  • Do bring paper to artist friend
  • Do model for artist friend (2 hours)
  • Do write outline of paper/plan response/argument
  • Do create a timetable for work/study/exercise etc
  • Use chatbox/checkins
  • maybe theatre?
  • maybe meeting?
Now, will I even take any notice of this list??? my friend suggests writing WHY I want to do these tasks as a means of motivating myself to do them. In which case I should just cross off the modelling bit because that's pure people-pleasing on my part. Everything else I want to do because it will bring me nearer to my goals of a tidy house (flat) and a more confident grasp of my studies, and thus to a more relaxed and enjoyable (less stressed) christmas holiday.
