Hi Pro

Just a thought about not getting enough sleep. Do you drink a lot or any caffeine during the day?

Also, I have a tech question. I thought I replied to one of your comments and I don't see it anywhere. What is the difference between reply & add a comment. Does reply just get sent to that particular person and doesn't show up as a comment?

Thanks,
Act

P.S. having so much fun with graphics!!

hi Act (actionbud)

First a technical note... You had unclosed italics tags that turned the whole board italic. The way you make a post italic is by placing the entire thing inside italics tags like this:

<i>This text will be italics.</i>

In your post, you started out with an opening tag, then ended each paragraph with both an opening and a closing tag. You just need one opening and one closing tag around the whole message. Also, if you have more opening tags than closing tags, you'll turn the whole board into italics. :)

>Just a thought about not getting enough sleep. Do you drink a lot or any caffeine during the day?

I quit caffeine completely recently. I don't even drink it in the morning anymore. It's been a few weeks or a month now, so I'm past the daily headaches and exhaustion.

I can't seem to shake my body free of the pattern of going to sleep at 2am and waiting at 10am. I was setting the alarm for 6am every morning for a while, but that didn't reset my clock. I'd be exhausted for the first 5 hours of the day, then in the evening I'd get a second wind and stay up past midnight again. After two weeks of this, I was so sleep deprived I just let myself sleep late again. For a while I was getting up at 7 or 7:30am and that would be fine with me. But then I stayed up all night the night before last and now my inner clock is totally screwed up again.

>Also, I have a tech question. I thought I replied to one of your comments and I don't see it anywhere. What is the difference between reply & add a comment. Does reply just get sent to that particular person and doesn't show up as a comment?

When you click "Add Comment", your post appears just below the thread starter, at the top of the thread. When you click the Reply link for a particular post, your post appears below the post you replied to, and indented a little.

>P.S. having so much fun with graphics!!

The graphics really brighten things up - add a fun element. It's sort of dreary posting to-do lists otherwise. One of the early members was into graphics and started posting fun things in her messages. This really caught on and now almost everybody does it. :)

Hi Pro

So sorry about turning the board italics.

Thanks for the explanation of the difference between replies & comments. I guess I never actually submitted my reply to you on one of your posts, because I couldn't find it anywhere, so that was my confusion.

Congratulations on giving up caffeine!!

Just a suggestion. Let me know if you think it might help. Maybe an hour before you want to go to sleep, spend it quietly, wrapping up the day, doing something you like & that is relaxing/calming. Then by the time you are ready, hopefully it will be easier. It might get your system back on track??

actionbud - posts and bedtime routines

There are two buttons when you first post a message - Preview and then (after you preview) Post. Sometimes people click Preview and forget to click Post. At one time I turned off the Preview requirement (showed both Preview and Post buttons right from the start), but then someone was posting messages with broken links all the time because she wasn't checking for typos, so I turned it back on. She hasn't been around lately - maybe I should turn it off again. :P

I'm sure this would help. I've read that you should turn off the computer at least an hour before bed. I know this, but I don't do it. I'll try to do better tonight. If I'm in bed reading at 10pm rather than sitting at the computer fully dressed, there is a better chance I'll go to sleep at a reasonable hour. Thanks for the suggestion.

Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.

Preview is optional again (for now)...

I made the Preview button optional again, but if you are posting graphics, please use the Preview button to make sure you don't have any typos and you're not posting broken links. If that starts happening again, I'll turn the Preview requirement back on.

Thanks.

pro's last check-in - 12:50am (MONDAY!!)

I can't believe that after 2 hours sleep last night I'm still up at nearly 1am. I took no pills at all today (forgot), but I'm not going to take any now because I don't want to drink a glass of water right before bed. My teeth are brushed - I'm going to bed now.

I don't feel bad about not working today because it's Sunday, and because I worked all day and all night yesterday. But I do feel bad that I didn't manage to get to bed by 10 or 11pm. I do a lot better when I get up early in the morning, but it doesn't work if I go to bed too late.

Good night!

Lark's last CI for Sunday 12:20 AM

Today wasn't a great day. I was out of synch, and so was everything else, it seems. I'm working somewhere else tomorrow, so I'll have to work here tomorrow night. My goal for tomorrow here is unfortunately to be where I hoped to be this evening. Ugh.

Check-Out & Check-In (11:50 PM)

Hi All,

Since I don't get on the computer in the a.m., I wanted to do my To Do for tomorrow - tonight.

Well my first day was a success, thanks to you all!!

Thanks for the welcome Edge and thanks to Mollie for asking the questions that helped me get the hang of HTML.

Go to pharmacy, put in perscription & get camera.
Work out for 10/15 minutes.
Go to store and get food for friend.
Decide what writings to do, contact writing buddy and start again.
Type out list for work related event tonight.
Start getting ready at 6:00 PM for work related event tonight.

TONIGHT BEFORE BED:
Brush teeth, take off makeup.

TO DO TOMORROW:
Do long, long workout.
Call Quest Labs and see if they're open, if yes, go get a blood test for possible work.
Call agencies.
Either work at home or go into work, whichever more productive.
Go to store and get food for friend.
Do some food shopping.
Bring in clothes to cleaners.
Do laundry.
Dust.
Decide what writings to do, contact writing buddy and start again.

PLEASANT DREAMS.

I wonder how it is that I can be tired all day, not take a nap, and then by 10:30pm I'm wide away. :?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried.
okay, that's it...
It's midnight and I'm not the least bit tired, which is incomprehensible to me because I got about two hours sleep last night and I've been exhausted all day. But I'm putting myself to bed now, anyway. This is ridiculous. Why am I always wide away late at night, no matter how little I've slept the night before??
Check-In (4:00 p.m.)
Hi, I'm new here, my name is actionbud; act, action or bud for short. I have been trying to figure out how things work around here, I know I will get it, it might take me some time. I am also
new to HTML. (Wow, I did it, ez!!)
About procrastinating, the frustrating thing is I used to write a list and get things done. Now, it seems that wonderful gift has been taken away and I now need help. When I don't do the things I want and need to do I end up really disliking myself, to put it nicely. I hope this is a good fit and I can get help.
Going to try To Do Boxes, here goes:
Go to pharmacy, put in perscription & get camera.
Work out for 10/15 minutes.
Go to store and get food for friend.
Decide what writings to do, contact writing buddy and start again.
Type out list needed for work related event tonight.
Start getting ready at 6:00PM for work related event tonight. Home by 8:30PM.
Excellent!!
Welcome to PA, Bud :)
Looks like you're getting the hang of things pretty fast :D Glad to have you with us ;)
on the other hand...
Dilemma:
- If I take a nap now, I won't be able to go to sleep early tonight and get up early tomorrow.
- If I do not take a nap now, I will be fairly useless today because I'm too tired to focus well on anything.
Lark's 9:35 AM CI
Wow, everyone seems to be really moving here this morning. I hope this ride has room for me! Too much stuff to do for today here, worked till 11:30 last night, and didn't make alot of headway. There's an important business meeting from another group this afternoon, and going will basically keep nothing from getting finished here. Maybe I can ask someone to represent me,
ToDo:
finish morning things
go to church with a friend
heat workshop
finish one section of work project (before starting anything else)
do another section when above is done
light swoop through house
catbox
Good luck everyone, and good to see you Monica.
It's 9:30am and I'm headed out the door, but I just realized there is a built-in feature in the forum for adding images to posts. The problem is, it contains only one image because we've been uploading to the wrong place. I'll will investigate when I get back. Leaving now...
The image feature was half implemented, I couldn't figure out how to use it, and I'm afraid of abuse (I had a terrible experience in another forum), so I disabled it. No one was using it anyway, and I have other things I need to be doing right now!!
Another mystery... WYSIWYG editing is supposedly enabled in this forum, but I've never seen a WYSIWYG edit box. :?
I have other things to do right now!!!!
Monica's CI - 6:10 am EST
Good morning everyone. Happy Sunday to you. In an effort to be more accepting of and amenable to change, I am only posting a short list. These are tasks I can reasonably expect to accomplish in the next few hours before attending church. I will try to post other short lists as the day goes on (in an effort to better judge what is reasonable for me to accomplish), based on what the day presents at different points.
Be blessed,
Monica
