I'm going to focus on step 8 today, by keeping a time log of most things I do throughout the day.

  • I set the alarm for 5 as planned
  • I got up at 6, which was unplanned, and not in keeping with my goals.
  • I started my evidence essay at the same time that I started the dishes, multi-tasking as a means of "breaking up" the chore of doing dishes by doing it in pieces, at the same time "breaking up" the overwhelming performance task of doing my evidence essay.  I was interrupted by two people in the middle of this and am losing time.
  • I finished my relevance argument for evidence item no. 1 in my evidence essay. This essay is going to take me all day through piece work. I can see that.
  • I loaded the glasses, silverware into dishwasher. Plates soaking.
  • Interruption: I talked to S about a problem. We agreed to postpone discussion until later this evening when there is more time.
  • Interruption: Heard from H about his conversation with S regarding the problem.
  • Took shower, did personal hygiene issues.
  • Leaving house for freeway on schedule.

I wish I knew why cooking is such a chore for me. I procrastinate sometimes for days on end, living on beans on toast, toast, cereal and fruit. It's hideously unhealthy, really, and it wastes good food while the veggies go off... I wish I could approach cooking more positively. Still, at least I have already made a dinner for tomorrow and hopefully that will mean I can get stuck into the housework then instead of tormenting myself by procrastinating.

Mole's check-in

What a great thought for the day movingalong, I can feel my chest puff up.

i was in bed last night at 11.05.  Yay. Am going to put some work into logging how long it takes me to do things so that I don't keep failing to live up to my expectations.

today has begun with me doing exactly that so that I am one and a half hours behind myself - but so far my day has been 7 put washing on, cafe at 7.30  where I usually plan but today was surrounded by difficult combinations of people I know and love ( someone just back from overseas, someone who had just had me to dinner, someone who had just lost a brother, someone whose baby had turned blue from lack of oxygen last week... Resultdidn't get back til 9, washed up, tidied living room, hung out washing, and am only now planning. Writing will start at

10.30 with pomodoro and freedom until 12.30

12.30 lunch

work out what to cook for A tonight

2 cafe to avoid chainsaw work on weekly and long term plan and ringing business (the planning itself needs to be broken down into smaller tasks)

3 continue with long term plan at home and email J re ringing thanks, S re leading sun,

put out rubbish

5 bring in washing and put it away

prepare meal

6.30 A comes

9.30 work out thread starter and plan for Wed

Tower business not done today but a really solid amount of work on planning. Happy with that.

10 bath

11 bed
