Good morning everyone! Hope you have the most productive day ever! Remember every task gets done not by finishing it, but by consistently starting it. Keep at it.
1. Have some caffeine now to jump start day
2. Write my chapter for 30mts straight. And make sure I keep starting each time I stop. I will restart 4 times today.
- 30 mts of work done. 1st restart, I'll be back in 45 mts
- 2nd restart - 30mts +
- 3rd restart - 45 mts more and time to sleep.
- delays have lead the 2.5 hours being spread over many more hours than it needed to. But these are baby steps. This is how those people of giant will-power is produced. Practice, Practice, Practice. Every failed attempt counts, Every successful attempt counts.
3. Finish section of chapter within 2.5 hours.
4. Come back to add more tasks when it is done. - NOT DONE as it's end of the day. I'll be back and check-in tomorrow by 10.00am Sydney time.

Thank you, really appreciate your kind words.
I can't even imagine how the people who were victimized there feel, but it's bad out here. Seems like my neighborhood is completely asleep - highly unusual for the weekend - no kids playing, no music. The movie theatre around the corner is closed for Saturday and Sunday - one of their employees was killed in the shooting. This is what I love about my community and Colorado in general, people are quite nice and respectful.
On the lighter note, DH, DD and myself managed to get out to a library/restaurant/playground to focus on what's important. It is hard to get moving back into routine, I still get distracted by the news - spent about 6 hours online following the news.
They did manage to clear the shooter's apartment, one less thing to stress about. The lockdown kept hundreds of medical professionals/students away from their homes, I wouldn't want anyone of their patients to suffer because they weren't rested enough. The consequences of this shooting will haunt our community for years.
Enough ranting! Time to get something done.
@Tila
So sorry about the tragedy in CO. I'm nowhere near it but I can't stop watching the news coverage either. I had been awake in the middle of the night watching TV and found out about it only hours after it happened. I have a very hard time focusing on my work when big news events like this happen, because I'm a news junkie and can't turn off the TV. Anyway, sending your city blessings and healing. ~Progress

Still struggling to get back to normal after heat exaustion; tend to get sick once the temperature hits 86 dF, really strange. If it continues next week, will have to schedule a doc appointment.
Something horrific happened in my city today - a gunman killed at least 12 people and wounded over 50 ppl in the movie theatre today. The movie theatre is a 15 min drive from my house. I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to help.
The police and other agencies have evacuated the buildings around this guy's apartment complex - there are chemical and explosive devices in there. He was a PhD student at the University of Colorado medical school - the apartment is like a block away from the Children's Hospital and the University Hospital. The police say it could be closed off anywhere from hours to days. At least I'm done with all doc appointments for this year.
Plan for today:
STOP OBSESSING ABOUT THE SHOOTING AND WATCHING LIVE REPORTS - instead, check the blog once in a whilemade a donationwrkinprogrss: 07/20/12

tracy-la check in 7-20 - taking action
The great end of life is not knowledge but action.
--Thomas Huxley
Sometimes we have good ideas about how to make things better. We might know we need to spend more quality time with others. We might know it would be better if we found the perfect "to do" list, best tips for getting things done or newest electronic organizer. Knowing what needs to happen is part of the process of change. But we have to put that knowledge into action.
All our good intentions, no matter what they may be, do not really mean anything until we move into action. A hug is better than a thought of love; a story read together is better than a wonderful vacation that did not get past the planning stage, just as a finished house is something we can live in, while the blueprint is soon forgotten. When we act on our ideas, we put ourselves into the world as a force for change.
What change can I set loose in the world today?
