scarlett CI 1:40 pm

After my last CI, I went and had lunch. Now, I have pulled the necessary folder, reviewed old notes, grabbed my ipod, and I'm off to tackle Frog 1. Timer is set for 15. If that's not enough, I'll do another 15.

I'm so tired I was dozing at lunch and I can literally barely keep my eyes open. Can't go home - have a teleconference late in the day.

scarlett CI 12 pm

Why I'm procrastinating (today, but goes for nearly everyday):

1) I feel overwhelmed.
2) I don't know where to start.
3) I'm afraid to face up to the consequences of my procrastination.
4) I'm really tired.
5) What I have to do is no fun.

Backtalk:
1) I don't have to do everything at once. I *can't* do everything at once.
2) I just need to pick one little thing and get moving to build momentum.
3) Most of the time I grossly overestimate the consequences. Everyone gets behind.
4) Nothing for this one except getting to bed earlier tonight. And starting a sleep journal.
5) I'll set my timer and reward myself when 1/2 hour is up - making sure to set my timer on the reward, too!

Last night: bedtime 4:20 am (target 11 pm)
This morning: wakeup 8:10 am (target 7 am)

new stuff online

Have you all seen the meeting materials I uploaded yesterday? There are two new articles (pulled from the meeting materials) - "Signs of Compulsive Procrastination" and "P.A. Tools for Recovery". I think these will be useful - especially for newcomers.

those are great.

I can check off every single one of the signs. And I'm about to use some of the tools.

Thanks for posting those.

iwant2workharder - CI 15:49

Hi all,

I hope you are not forgetting to go and vote!

paper method is working and IT team got my new
software : tested it yesterday and testing it today.
Works fine. Need to keep testing it all week. Website1 sorted!

Pro- You have so many skills: sales, taxation, web programming, LANGUAGES, TECHNICAL writing, .... I wish I was like you :
soooo gifted. You are very very lucky to know how to all these things.
And FELICITATION with your job offers. It must be a relief to
have money rolling in. Also, I know a lot of people looking for work,
so let me know if you have any work or know someone who needs work to be done : we have more than 20 million officially registered unemployed on our continent and they will appreciate and people can work for less than 1.7 $/hour. Many are well qualified graduates as well. So do not hesitate if you see anything around.

Bye for now.
I AM WORKING HARDER

scarlett CI 9:10 am

Morning, y'all. Here I am, back to try yet again. It's easy for me to try something a few times and then give up on it, so coming back here again and again is a conscious decision to fight that impulse. There ain't no magic pill - I just have to forgive myself and start over. Again and again and again.

Last night: bedtime 4:20 am (target 11 pm)
This morning: wakeup 8:10 am (target 7 am)

As you can see, it is going to be a challenge to stay awake and productive today.

Keeping it simple and easy.

Sounds like a great idea - this is my plan today, too. Slow and steady.

Rexroth 14.55 GMT

Thanks Scarlett.

Am well underway and feeling relaxed and not pressurised about progress.

Woke early this morning after a series of vivid dreams and nightmares and feel that there is some strong internal work going on.

Regards Rexroth

pro's Tuesday to-do list

*~*~*~*~*~*~To Do~*~*~*~*~*~*

  • Read and sign NDA for possible technical writing job.
  • Fax NDA.
  • Vote.
  • Join group making calls to get out the vote. (I'll be making calls all afternoon.)
  • Go to job interview.
  • Handle pile.

GOTV

Good for you for volunteering! I was going to canvass, but was out of town the weekend they finally needed me. :(

didn't work out

I didn't end up staying to make phone calls. I have a job interview at 4pm, and I want to put my best foot forward for it. I got to the apartment where the group was making the phone calls, and it was hot, stuffy, smelly, covered with cat hair (and covering me with cat hair), plus one of the three cats kept trying to crawl all over me and I'm allergic to cats. So I explained about my job interview, apologized, and left.

I just came back from voting. Now I want to finish my morning routine, which I cut short because I was running late. I haven't made my bed yet, or washed the breakfast dishes.

getting out the vote

My sister did it for the 2004 election and said it was a lot of fun - she felt less victimized and powerless, and it was fun hanging out with people who had similar political leanings.

Somebody from moveon.org called me early this morning to remind me of my commitment (like I needed reminding) and woke me up. Oh well - I should have been up anyway. :)

I was about to ask what GOTV was, but then I figured it out. Duh.
