It's

iwant2workharder - For the check-ins, it's best to make the first post a generic welcome message, then all the check-ins are comments added to this message. Whoever gets here first creates the day thread. I created a thread for October 14th, and moved your message over.

When you check in, please put your username and the time in the subject.

RIF 11:04 AM Morning Check-in

Woke up at 9:30 AM

Ta-da:

Shopped at the farmer's market. I haven't been in two weeks, and it was something I needed to do. What I didn't realize is how fun it was go around the different stands. I got some Concord grapes, exciting. ;)

Why I put this off, I will never know. Procrastination is a funny thing.

To do:

Prepare some meals for next week
Clean bathroom, bedroom, living room
Email friends (a fun activity!)
Weekly review
Write for 15 minutes
Watch soccer game (also a fun activity!)

Farmer's Markets

I love going to Farmers Markets. There's a great one in Union Square, but I'm not up for that long a walk so soon after being sick. There's a much smaller one very near here, though - not nearly as much fun, but a little bit fun.

iwant2workharder - 2:50pm check-in

My aim for today are
- to finish website1 (urgent important hard) Jawdropping!
- to finish website2 (urgent important hard) Jawdropping!

- get form for the bank ( go through a lot of paper) Sad Sad Sad
- get form+former check+new check+post for the course on time management
( go through a lot of paper) Sad Sad Sad
- tidy up my huge pile of papers Sad Sad Sad
- empty the bins Smiling Smiling Smiling
- send job adverts Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud
Any comments?
How would you make yourself do these? specially the one which I do seem
to fear doing.

So far , it is 15:00 since 09:00!! Have not really achieved much...
:( :-(

The things I have transferred for sunday: I am wondering if I put these on the list to avoid doing most important website1 and website2. Gosh I know how to give myself something else to do to hide the fact that I need to get websites1 and 2 but I am procrastinating... When I think I have also 2 other websites to do...

What I have done:

- book trains
==> DONE ( gave it to someone else to do)

- send money to someone who helped me when I was down ( should have done this ages ago)
DONE

- get form for the bank ( go through a lot of paper)
DONE

- empty the bins
DOME

What's transferred for sunday ( tomorrow)
- phone tenants to ask them when they are leaving
===> Couldn't do Need to try again as they are away
- get some bank money transferred to someone who will make me richer ( why am I waiting?)
Need to get info next week
- get form+former check+new check+post for the course on time management : not urgent. can do this before end
( go through a lot of paper)
- tidy up my huge pile of papers
- send job adverts

What is left to do today and most urgent.

- to finish website1 (urgent important hard) :jawdrop:
- to finish website2 (urgent important hard) :jawdrop:

So now I am going to concentrate on website1 till 20:00 ( 4 hours).
16:00-20:00. I hope this will work.
It seems that I avoided doing the websites. Gosh.

iwant2workharder - PLEASE READ

I posted a message in the sticky at the top of this board explaining how we organize bookending:

Every day someone (whoever gets to the forum first) starts a thread for the day. The first message is just a general welcome for everybody - not a list of your specific tasks. Lots of times people like to use graphics to make the opening message welcoming. If you look to the left, you'll see a link for "Graphics for Forum Posts".

Then all check-ins are comments added to that day thread. In the subject of each check-in message, it's good to put your name and the time you're checking in.

Thanks for helping to keep things organized here. :)

-----------

Also note that you don't need to repost your original message (I see you did that here) because it's all in the same day thread.

ok

Thank you for explaining how to use the 'check in'.

Anyway, I think I'll have to really think?

I have not managed to do anything on website1. It is 17:20 :( :-(
I stayed in front of the computer and then browsed the internet.
Why? <:? :-? :puzzled:
Why do I seem to want to avoid to do this work???
I don't know why I am finding it hard to do it or worse even start it. I haven't even open the existing files either to even have a look at them.
Funny how I am realising the small tasks ( bin, paper, ...) were just distraction tasks to get me off doing the website1 without feeling about about not doing it ... Putting another set of tasks to avoid doing the one I need to do.

Now I am stuck: I can't seem to do anything.

Going for a break away from the computer. I was supposed to work till 20:00... I'd rather go and do something else rather than watch the internet for the next 2 hours 30 minutes.

My day is really messed up. I would have done the work. I'd be happier with myself and could move to do some other work I have.

I'll have to think about how to get myself into doing these sites.

iwant2workharder - it's because...

...you have too many things on your list. Do this...

Pick ONE thing. Break that one thing down into teeny, weeny action steps, where each one can be completed in 15 minutes. Post that list, committing to do the first thing on the list. Then come back in 15 minutes (or however long it takes) to report that it's done. Then do the next thing on the list.

The secret is BABY STEPS. I'm sure you're overwhelmed by your list. I would be!

pro's CI - 11am

I'm not moving too fast this morning, but that's okay - I'm just barely recovered after being sick all week.

Rexroth...

Sorry you're still not feeling well. Do you know what's wrong with you? My problem turned out to be acute bronchitis and I'm finally better. After spiking a fever all week long, my temp is back to normal and I'm slowing resuming my life. I hope you're feeling better soon. It's awful to be sick.

Rexroth 22.00 BST

Thanks pro. It is bronchitis which I get from time to time and it stays with me as a low level infection i.e. I don't get a fever. I've previously been to the Doctor and had a very comprehensive medical including x-rays, CT scans, alergy testing, neurologist (I had sinusitis as well) and at the end of the day they could not find anything interesting. My lungs are a bit damaged from pneumonia as a child (I nearly died) and exposure to TB at some point. They are also healthy from long distance swimming which I did when younger like 2+ miles in my early teans. I didn't keep it up though. Dr is not keen on giving me antibiotics and that's fine by me.

I've spend the day mostly in bed (futon on floor) and got up to do some cooking for the deep freeze. Quite why I don't know. It's not the most useful thing I could be doing for myself. So now its bed, journal, prayer and sleep.

I forgot one additional thing I did was to email an antique dealer with a detailed list of stuff I wanted to sell. This is something which I have been putting off for a long time and getting rid of the stuff would really help me move forwards.

Anyway night night...

Regards Rexroth

breathing

This is the second time I've gotten acute bronchitis (fever, etc.). I have noticed that once you get a virus, you seem to be more vulnerable to getting the same thing again. It's like it never completely goes away - it just hovers at an undetectably low level until some sort of stressor compromises your immune system and it can take over again.

I really don't like the bronchitis, and this time was even worse than last time. I just felt absolutely dreadful. To me it's worse than the flu because I can't breathe. I'm still not 100% - I'm very tired from what I did today, I'm still coughing, and my nose is still running - but I'm a lot better than I was.

I've read that apples have something in them that's good for lungs. I've always liked apples, and eat one every morning - body wisdom, maybe? But I still have asthma, allergies, and periodic bronchitis.

Have a good night - I hope you feel better in the morning. I'm looking forward to your post where you say you got a new bed and mattress, and how wonderful they are. :)

slider's 8:30 am CI (Central USA)

Good morning! Today is a work day for me--I have a wedding to perform! I found a great quotation on procrastination in "Rip Van Winkle"--see forums ("Rip Van winkle and procrastination").

Ta Da:
--Got up at 6:30 (target 8:45, but DS woke me up and said I need to take him to band at 7:30).
--got decent for taking DS to school
--looked up school band website for info on trip, printed trip sheet for DS while he was in shower
--loo
--drove DS to band
--checked oil, added a quart of oil additive
--threw away trash from adding additive, cleaned gunk off my hands
--made coffee
--scolded DH when he came in to kitchen (Hmm--I guess it shouldn't be a Ta Da, but it felt pretty righteous at the time! ;))
--skimmed book DD left in kitchen & found great quote on procrastination
--posted quotation
--small amount of cuop
--check in

I want to get done:
--eat breakfast
--brush teeth, use rinse and floss
--feed cats and chickens
--feed and play with kitten
--select clothes for wedding
--iron if needed
--copy or type scripture passages for wedding
--outline sermon
--unlock church by 10:00, check on how A/C is doing (wasn't doing too well last night)
--shower, dress, makeup
--lunch
--teeth
--check on bridal party (arriving 1:30 pm)
--remind dh of wedding time
--double check church and turn on sound system
--wedding (4:00 pm)
--take certificate to reception
--come home by 8 pm
--review lessons for tomorrow, review SS lesson
***--don't forget to take license to courthouse on Monday! (do something to help remind you--Outlook, cell phone calendar, etc. in addition to task list) (Because I never remember to look at Task List!!!!) :jawdrop:

Glad you're better!

You sound so chipper--I'm amazed! Guess it feels GOOD to be well (or better, at least). Hope you don't overdo and deflate your enthusiasm!

I'll be careful.

I know if I overdo I could relapse. It's just so nice to have a normal body temperature again. When you have a fever, you feel so weak and unwell. I had a fever from Monday afternoon until last night - four horrid days.

I want to go to the store (need toilet paper, etc.), pick up mail (haven't all week), pick up tailoring that's been sitting at the dry cleaners, and buy my neighbor flowers (she brought me the food I ate yesterday). That shouldn't be too much, right?

Truthfully, I do still feel a little tired and weak, so if I can't do all that I won't.

i want 2 work harder...

Hi, and welcome. I wrote a note to you about thread starters at the top of this thread, so I won't repeat that here.

>How would you make yourself do these?

How do I make myself do things? Try bookending. You're off to a good start here, posting in the bookending board. Now pick one thing on the list - preferably the highest priority thing - and make a "sub list" that includes all the tasks you need to do to accomplish that item. Post that, then go do the first action item. When you're done, check in, then go do the next thing. When I'm getting started, sometimes I check in every 15 minutes. You'll find that simply checking in helps a lot. You might also want to read the articles on the site - just click the Articles button at the top of the page.

>specially the one which I do seem to fear doing.

I can be clairvoyant at moments, but nothing is coming to me right now. ;) Seriously - never mind trying to psychoanalyze the situation. Just jump into "doing" - the solution is in doing.
