pro's last check-in (12:30am - SATURDAY!!)

I actually finished my bedtime routine a little while ago, but I found a bug in my business Web site script and I've been tracking it down and fixing it. Need to go to bed now!!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Ta Da~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

  • Bedtime Routine
    • Take last dose of pills.
    • Make up bed (convert futon from couch to bed).
    • Empty dish drain and wash any dirty dishes.

    • Take shower.
    • Put on jammies.

Good night!

An idea

Hi all. I had this idea when CUOP.

I noticed a lot of us use "rolled over", "deferred", "ditched" etc for things we didn't get time for during the day.

I have also noticed a lot of us have the same things appearing there often days in a row. Or they disappear altogether without getting done ;).

I thought that from now on I might keep a record of how many times a task has been deferred, rolled over etc by putting a number after it. Ie: - filing (3) to indicate how many days it's been rolled over. I'm going to do the same on my weekly plan.

Just an accountability check for myself that I thought others might like to try, too.

Oops...

Posted in wrong thread. Will repeat it in the appropriate forum.

pro's CI - 10:25pm

I only got back home a little while ago - got to get going on my bedtime routine. There's a homeless person in the hallway downstairs - very disconcerting. It's an elderly black woman. I called the 6th Precinct. They said they would call outreach services for her.

I feel a little cheerier since the service and dinner. I think I know what's bothering me - depression about losing my house in New England. I've been in a funk since I came back last Wednesday.

inertia

Getting ready for bed seems like very hard work and I don't feel like doing it. That's dumb, isn't it? If I'm tired, I should want to get ready for bed.

G-I-D 3:30

Hello All! Things here are going well. I have been missing you all and thinking of you even though I haven't checked in much lately. I have been crazy busy. seeing the new Chiro. 3 times a week for the next 4 weeks. Man it's a huge time commitment. It makes getting errands in town done diffucult too. It will be worth it though. Working my on my new routines is time consuming as well, but something I have been procrastinating on for weeks though and I am slowly hacking away at it. I'm just taking my to do lists for the day and saving them and adding in things here and there. Tyring to figure out where to put them is what racks my brain. I have to be careful to not get overwhelmed just trying to create. So far, I'm doing alright, not getting to perfectionistic, and aavoiding time bingeing. The fly lady laundry system is proving it's worth. It's 3:30 and I have washed, dried, folded and put away today's laundry as well as the backlog of "needed to be folded and put away laundry!" Gooooo Me! I also watered the Ficus tree which was dying of thirst, and have the table set for dinner, and my midday sweep of my 1 BIG FOCUS areas done. ALrighty, will do my best to CI this weekend.

glad you checked in

Sounds like things are going well. :)

Woo hoo

back accounting is at the top of the list...and there's still time in the work day to pick at it a little.

I'm moping

I don't feel able to do it - energy-wise, that is. Depression is sapping my ability to start something challenging like this. :(

Mopping

Washing the floor takes a lot out of me, too ;)

Oh, you said moping

not a total loss

I did some stuff today, and everything I did today needed doing. I have 1.5 hours now when I could work on accounting, but I just can't start something so difficult for me late in the afternoon. I need to do it early. This morning I was doing things that needed to be done quickly - deal with the toilet before the weekend, bring my pants back to the store before too much time passed since I bought them, buy a winter coat (mine is 15 years old and ripped).

I think I'll get the mail and do filing, and call it a day. I'll start the accounting on Monday. I'm depressed for some reason. I need the weekend off - some guilt-free down time.

Back

That accounting is almost to the top of the list

lonely here

I can really tell how much I am helped by the encouragement I receive here when it stops and everyone (almost) goes away on the weekends. I've been procrastinating and doing pretty much nothing. I bought a coat online at overstock.com (cheap). I needed a coat, but I probably should have bought it as a reward for working on my back accounting.

The problem with the accounting - the reason it's so hard for me to start - is that it's massive and overwhelming. I don't know where to start. Well, I sort of know where to start, but getting into the groove seems so hard.

I feel sad and lonely today. I don't know what's the matter with me lately, really. I went out to dinner with friends last night - it's not like I'm all alone in the world. I dunno...

Getting in the groove

Remember, you only have to do work on it a little at a time. When it's that overwhelming, I believe you really must break it down into smaller chunks and don't expect to get it done in one sitting.

So there :P

it will take weeks

No way will I get it done in a single sitting. It's a couple weeks full time - I know because I've been this behind before. It's a huge pain in the neck (or pain somewhere).

pro's CI - 12:10pm

pro's first check-in - 7:20am EDT US

I got up at 7:15am this morning. That's an improvement. But I woke up because I had a headache, so maybe it's not a true improvement but a happy accident. I need to take my migraine meds and make coffee.

noise sensitivity

Grinding coffee when I have a migraine is a traumatic experience. Maybe I'll start the grinder then run in the bathroom and close the door. (There aren't that many places to run in here.)

Also, my toilet isn't flushing right - I need to call the landlord.

Norm 12 noon BE

Another session done. This explains a lot. I ~feel~ as thought I'm really cracking through these, but they're taking a lot longer than anticipated. Must be one of those 'in the flow' time warp thingies. Will know to watch out for that in future. Looks like, even with a course plan, it takes me about 1 1/2 hours to plan a detailed session.

Anyway, the upshot is that I've gone from being ahead to being behind. Will have to shave some time off Daytime Routine or something.

sounds like you're doing great

I chronically underestimate how long it takes to do things like this. Maybe you could time it the next time? It can help in planning to have a clearer idea.

Norm 10.40 BE

Another session done - I keep getting ideas for making them even better, and I'm having to reign myself in to stop myself going back over previous sessions to make them 'perfect'. They're fine as they are, and I can add in the amendments by hand - if there's time later I can reformat them, but it's not a priority.

Yep. Not done packing, either. Headed to bed very soon, though.

Milo 2pm

I can't do much else on my list until DS wakes now, or I will wake him traipsing around the bedrooms putting washing away and unpacking, or making a racket vacuuming. I can sweep & tidy hotspots, at least. Will do that now...

Oh, DS is awake, I can hear him now.
