Retroactive CI

Good idea - I often don't post a closing bookend, but sometimes it's because I don't want anyone to notice I didn't get my list done. So many people here yesterday got their lists finished or nearly so! What a team!

I think its time to revise my lights out time to 11:00. Even if I get the light out earlier, I'm usually still awake. This give a few extra minutes in the evenings to do some of the things I want to do.

I even got into the garage tonight. Only a couple more evenings to complete the first stage of the project!

G-I-D 10:00 PM.

Good night all. I finished my to do list and got a good start on a control type journal! Hooray
been a great day. will CUOP tomorrow.

Enough goofing around.

It's time to finish that evening routine!

I was just about to post the same thing!

Me, too. I'm tired, and starting to doze on the couch. I need to get ready for bed.

am I imagining things, or...

Is the graphic and text in the message starting the day thread shifting over the course of the day and evening? I think it is. That's nice. I thought I was imagining things at first.

This is a good benefit for people who post the first message in the day thread. :)

Clever

I noticed it too :)

????

I'm not sure what you're talking about. :?

How bad is it if I don't do anything else today? I don't feel able to deal with the world today. I just want to crawl into a cocoon. Does anybody else here ever get like this? I don't know what's wrong with me.

Cocoon, too..

Yep, I do :)

It's a comfort thing. Getting away from stimulus and recharging.

yes!!

Yes - get away from stimulus!! That's a big part of it. I'm finding New York City very overwhelming right now. I don't want to go outside.

cocoon

I just want to crawl into a cocoon. Does anybody else here ever get like this?

Absolutely!
This is how I feel whenever I get a even a little sick, or if I physically hurt. When my body's not functioning at 100% I want to do nuthin'. It happened to me last week.

glad I'm not the only one

I don't know why it makes me feel so much better to know I'm not the only one who gets like this, but it does.

It happens to me when I'm physically ill, but also at other random times when I'm feeling emotionally raw - often I don't know why or what's bothering me (like today).

Girly

If you're a 'she' it could be hormonal if you can't see any other reason.

If you're a 'he', then....no ideas... :P

not hormonal

I don't think it's hormonal, whether or not I'm female. :P

This has happened to me my whole life, and usually I figure out what's bothering me days or weeks later. I'm not very good at being in touch with my feelings. I often have a delayed understanding of my own reactions, and/or delayed reactions.

My guess is that I'm reacting to something about the time over the holiday that I spent with my brother's family, but I don't know what.

just one more thing

I decided that the only other thing I'm going to do today work-wise (besides retrieving my sheets from the dryer) is to read through the magazines in my pile. That will at least make the pile smaller. Maybe this will inspire me to do a little filing? I'll be leaving for a meeting soon, so there isn't a lot of time left, anyway.

scarlett CI 5:10 pm

Finally got that demo review done, just 2.5 weeks late. Blecch. I still have one more thing to do, but I have to wait for someone else. Can probably do it tomorrow.

Now I'm going try and tidy up my to do list a bit and then head home.

Summary

Normy is busy.

Normy fell asleep at work (no-one noticed). I also forgot I had an appointment with two clients and turned up late - they were OK about it though. I apologised and offered to tag the missing time on at the end.

pushing yourself too hard?

It sounds like you're exhausted. Maybe you've been pushing yourself too hard?

I'm knackered

I've not particularly got a lot of work on for when I'm in a Getting It Done mood, but it seems a lot when I'm in a Procrastinatey mood. I don't seem to be able to get enough sleep even though I'm getting the hours in. Could be a change of season thing. (Could be idleness!).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I'm sleeping a lot, too

And I don't feel like doing a THING today. I feel that getting up and dressed and taking my pills was about all I'm able to do today - and laundry. I really want to just zone out on the couch - maybe read another novel.

I have no idea what's wrong with me today. I just feel so WITHDRAWN. I just don't want to be in the world. I was like this yesterday, too.

me, too.

I'm cranky and antisocial and have no patience for telling people the same thing I've told them 500 times before. So I'm putting off getting back to them.

BTDT

>I'm cranky and antisocial and have no patience for telling people the same thing I've told them 500 times before.

Oh, can I ever relate to that!!!!!! It just drives me crazy. People just stand there like baby birds with their mouths open waiting to have everything fed to them. They don't take the slightest initiative in finding things out for themselves - for example, reading the detailed introductory material I wrote for my business, etc. It drives me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!

You are right not to answer right away when you are feeling like that. Any time I do, I live to regret it.

pro's CI - 4:40pm

I feel so weirdly disinclined to work. I feel scared of anxious or something. I don't even want to go outside. I don't know what's with me today.

what I really want to do...

What I'd really like to do right now is go uptown to the Apple store on 57th Street I've heard so much about. It's open 24/7.

I won't though. Or not today, anyway.

Boo!

:)

hi Normy!

Whatcha doin'?

Procrastinating!

Supposedly taking DDog out, BBR, and I don't remember if I've had an evening meal or not - if I look in the kitchen and see a mess then I have because I sure don't remember tidying it up. :P

I cancelled a meeting with a friend tonight so I could catch up on getting some self-employed work done after payroll-work, but I didn't do it.

Better get cracking before I fall asleep in my chair again!

Funny!

I just vented to my boss, and 30 seconds after I read your post, that's exactly what she said to me (and herself - we're both overwhelmed).

Thanks for the encouragement.

I waited too long to get dressed. I have to go out to get something to eat, and now I'm over-hungry. Oh well. Errands next...

just noticed and curious

I just noticed your nice summary of how everybody is doing. And I noticed you said I'm a "her". I've been very careful not to say anything that indicates whether I'm a man or a woman (partly out of anonymity paranoia, and partly as a game). So I wonder... how come you think I'm a woman?

Just a gut feeling...

...based on your accumulated comments. 8)

If you would rather I use the "it" pronoun, I will. :P

he or she

I prefer he or she to it. Either he or she will do. :P

Some people have referred to me as "he", some as "she". I just wonder how people get the impression one way or another. It's kind of a interesting question, actually. What subtle cues do people associate with one gender or the other?

This message will self distruct

Maybe you should delete this thread before anyone else gets too curious 8)

paranoia

When I first started this site I was extremely paranoid about my anonymity, and tried to avoid any discussion of whether I was male or female. I'm still paranoid about people finding out who I am (it could be veeery embarrassing!!), but I'm finding the male/female guessing process kind of interesting. Curiosity has always been my downfall. 8)

Fascinating subject

I find this fascinating. I love trying to guess pro's gender, and although I'm pretty certain what I think it is, of course I could just as certainly be wrong. I love analysing the subtle cues and then thinking about what they tell me. Then the interesting part - WHY they are telling me. Is it because of my pre-concieved notions? Or is it because of societal stereotypes? Pro's use of certain words, of certain activities s/he undertakes...it's a neverending stream of 'clues'.

Love this, love it! Pro, if you ever became a he or a she instead of either - I would lose a fun game :P

Ps - us discussing your gender won't give it away - you just have to be careful yourself!!!!

Now I understand...

...why the circumlocutions in the comments about Yom Kippur when it came to that thing that happens around age 12! I thought you didn't want non-Jewish people to know what you were talking about. Now I realize it was to avoid a gender-specific word. Very clever! How do you constantly remember not to give it away?

it's an effort

Sometimes I forget and almost click post and then I have to go back and edit it. I couldn't say bar or bat mitzvah without giving it away. I thought of saying bnai mitzvah (the plural), but that didn't really work either.

P.S. Happens at 13, not 12. :)

Both, isn't it?

12 for girls, 13 for boys?!

(yes, I am meant to be going to bed...sorry.. :P)

one for all

13 for everybody. :)

I tried to call the Village Temple yesterday but there was no answer. I want to go to services tomorrow evening. There's also a dinner. It's a nice thing - I did that in the rural place I lived a couple times. Problem was, they didn't have many Jews there so they didn't do it every Friday. New York has plenty of Jews. :)

glad you enjoy it, too

:D

The ultimate authority

I just asked DD3 if she thinks pro is a boy or a girl. She says boy.
