HELLO EVERYONE!

I WROTE A TO DO LIST ON WEDNESDAY AND MARKED OFF ALL THE TASK AFTER I DID THEM. THE DAY WENT SMOOTH.

TO-DO-LIST
PAY TIM FOR FIXING THE PONTIAC
PAY POST OFFICE RENTAL FEE
GET TITLE TO THE VAN

Time to start

It's almost noon, but that is still better than most days. Sometimes I can't focus and get started until 4 PM or even later. So I end up leaving work really late but still don't catch up.

My goal for the moment is simple.

12 noon-2 PM Review 5 cases, write an assessment for each, and get them submitted electronically.

Back at 2 PM with a report.

It's 2 PM. I never got started. My email alert was on, an email arrived, and I lunged for it. After that, a phone call here, another email there, and I managed to put things off for two hours.

Trying again: 5 cases in 2 hours, 2 PM - 4 PM. A colleague of mine in Dallas told me she cranks out 10 evaluations per hour. Someday, maybe.

Back at 4 PM with another update.

It's 7:25 PM. I finally managed to get out 5 cases (technically 7, but two were minute). Many interruptions, not all legitimate. Little - but real - progress.

Agnus checking in

Everyone in my house loved this threadstarter, except the cat, ha!  However, he is happy anyway: he gets to hang out with me in the office while the dog hangs out in the family room with J today.  Doggie passed his pre-breeding checkup at the vet's this morning so he is very happy, dreaming of a better date than his usual 9pm tryst with a stuffed dolphin...lol!

I am having a dickens of a time getting started today. Had 8 hours sleep for the first time in many days, and feel even more tired than I did before!  Still I will not give procrast the edge..boss call now, then back with a list.

Thanks Rexroth

*tries to be patient*

This evening I head to visit my parents for the holiday weekend.

There's a decent amount of work I want to get done before that:
*Work on RNA-seq expt
*Collect and prep samples
*Drop off Dmc1 slide
*Email RH, SMC
*Financial stuff
*Collect papers + teaching statement to work on for the weekend

And I think I have a training session  2:30-4:30 (though I need to double check w/ TH)

If I have additional time I'll:
*Finish cleaning slides
*Organize freezer
*Finish typing protocols for gel, sequencing, and/or microscopy

*Deal w/ emails from past week

*Orders

I'm going to drop off slide now, then go work on RNA-seq and on protocols.

Hey All,

Not doing well at all today, feeling sorry for myself. I've gotten 3 responses to my dog care ad and they all have been spammers. It seems like every time I try to do something towards having this business, I'm getting a big, "NO." Also, with connecting to DA.

There is a cleaning job available in my neighborhod 5 nights a week, which I really don't want, but will call anyway. That would help my income lots. Thankfully though, I washed the kitchen & dining room floors last night.

Stuff to do today:
-clean living room floor
-clean kitchen countertops
-clean refrigerator?
-cook
-clean oven?
-tidy up in bathroom

On a positive note, which I'm really not feeling at all, I have done cleaning in the house every day this week, which is know minor miracle. Having hubby problems. Raged at him last night, which I have worked my bumm off not to do, and I'm praying to G_d that he will remove this defect of character.

♥Prayers & guidance needed & appreciated for my Yoffee's healing.♥

Journey 7:15

Gee whiz, this has been a long week.   I'm really frustrated with the slowness of my recovery from pneumonia.   Everything I (obsessively) read on the internet says it takes a month to get back to 100%, so I guess I just have to be patient, but I was really hoping that after two weeks I'd be feeling a lot better.    grumble grumble grumble.

Anyway, I need to make it through today then I have a long weekend.  I had intended to have some people over for a cookout on the 4th of July but that ain't gonna happen.

Making a todo list, but I know the first half of the day will be spent in building system Q for Project V.

Hi Journey

Hi Journey pneumonia is serious and can be fatal. I nearly died from it as a child. Glad you are now getting over it and it does take time.

Wishing you well with your recovery

hmm. trying to think a happy thought. i'm not very good at it, i think i should try this more often to practise. it's weird but i feel like i don't deserve to have time just for myself with nothing whatsoever to be done. makes me feel guilty if i don't plan anything to do. it seems like feeling guilty for procrastinating on very important things has become so familiar to me that it's hard to stop even if there's nothing to feel guilty about. really weird. so today i feel a bit lost because yesterday i didn't make up a plan for what i want to do. will try to list some things that need to be done to structure the day and see where this takes me.

  • shower, dress, breakfast DONE
  • take cat out to the garden/ listen to audiobook (2.30) DONE
  • cook for tonight (4) DONE
  • journal
  • check something for JTT
  • check D support service
  • finish sorting thesis material (4)
  • finish tidying study (4.30)
  • start editing M (some small things only for a start)
  • write an email to a friend - i don't  feel like it so i keep putting it off - don't know if i can persuade myself to do it today, so not sure if to list it as an MIT (ok, this seems to be a really twisted avoidance pattern...)
  • make a plan for tomorrow, a plan for next week, a list for July
  • meet J ? (8 ) DONE
  • watch football match

ok. looks like there're plenty useful things i can do. minor tasks but nevertheless. current major task would be to look for a job and write applications. i think i'm going to continue with this from next week on. apart from that there are some things that i keep telling myself i'll do when i've got "more time". well, this would be now. so will try to keep them in mind when i make up my daily plans.

update: it seems that i won't get much done today. lack of motivation to do useful things. at least at the moment it's easier to not be so hard on myself for that.

Rexroth Check In

Slept in very tired and generally confused and all over the place. My confusion is because of the change in my life over the legal/business problems and I am still fearful that something else will happen so that they are not really finished after all.

Done:
Up prayer and reflection
Put on washing machine
Check emails - but I haven't replied to them

Todo:
Check post when/if it comes
Check list of future plans I made yesterday
Write journal
Try to sort out problems over last month's financial records

There are a lot of small things I have to do and it does not really matter which at the moment.

Regards Rexroth

3. Write a check for my rent

4. Get my clothes ready for today

5. Get my peanut butter and jelly sandwich ready for this evening.

6. Call the storage place to pay for my storage unit

7. Go to the office to pay my rent

8.. Go to individual and group therapy

9.. Go to work.

10. Go to my 7:00 a.m. Debtors Anonymous meeting
