Rexroth - thanks for starting the day thread. Point of information.... Usually the first message in the thread is just a general "to everyone" message. I just say "Good morning". Normy sometimes posts a group progress report.
I reposted your check-in as a response to the first message. You should put your name in the subject to identify your own check-ins. I also like to put the time.

It's about portion control,
It's about portion control, right? As long as you don't eat a huge bowl by yourself, you're good.
Sounds like you found a good substitute, though! :)
eating huge bowls by myself isn't okay??
Oh! That must be why eating popcorn makes me gain weight. :P

Hey y'all, first post. I just found this board yesterday but wanted to go ahead and get started - I've been looking for something like this for a while. If I want to introduce myself a bit (anonymously, of course) and ask some questions, where would be the proper thread? Didn't see an FAQ.
Done so far:
REVIEW SCHEDULE
LEAVE SLIPS
CALL AL
work order
Call Tim
call Chris (LM)
call Jerry (LM)
call Ted (he said to talk to Jerry)
stop by Cindy’s
Prep stuff for faxing
Still to do:
update upcoming reviews and email out
email forms to Josh
on web – approve w/ comments
prep for update meeting
resched Dr. M appt
call Christine
fax stuff
Tonight:
gym or dvd
fix meal
do dishes
budget stuff
start inventory
Oh, yeah.
Welcome!
I'm pretty new here, too. Glad you jumped right in. There's something to all this.
Questions, Answers, Insights forum
would be a good place to start a new topic for yourself. This is a pretty small community right now, so you can't go wrong :)

I just send out the announcement. Now I need to make a list of the tasks required to implement it. This is a little complicated.
WTG Pro!
you all are so great!
Thanks so much for cheering me on and being so supportive. This really means a lot to me. I so rarely get support for anything I do in my life. I'm used to constant criticism and demands. You are all wonderful!!!! :)
You made it happen
By setting the board up in the first place, you allowed us all to get together and cheer each other on. :D
this Web site
You can't imagine how my family reamed me when I mentioned I'd spent a Saturday putting up this site. They practically drilled me another a*h*.
I'm so glad I'm not talking to them. You all are much more pleasant to talk to. :)
right way to do this
Looking things over... I think I need to do a certain amount of previously promised work before I bail. Otherwise, I'll cause greatly increased anger, and also it will greatly increase the amount of money I need to refund, and I'm broke.
So you know those client reports I'm always talking about but never doing? I think I'll write the last ones now...
Can't help but notice,
Something keeps sneaking to the top of the list, keeping the frog second on the list. :P
I happen to agree with you...this time.
actually, I didn't do that
I started to write to one of the clients, and then realized I really should send out the notification first so I did that. Now I'll write to the clients. Then make the to-do list to implement the change.
Implementing the change is kind of overwhelming, but I can't procrastinate on that.
Sometimes there's no going back
and there's a certain freedom in that.
Way to go pro. 8)
if this were a movie
we'd be hearing heroic, dramatic theme music right now
it's time
Okay, I ate something (various leftovers - nothing much). Now I need to "do it". I'm nervous as hell.
People need to be informed in a certain order. Starting that now...
pro's CI - 12:40pm
Suddenly I'm more efficient today. I checked my email, cleared my spam folder, and paid my bills without procrastinating, and I've been procrastinating on all these for days (weeks, for the bills). I think it's because I know I will soon be released from purgatory. I haven't made the announcement yet - wanted to clear the decks of urgent matters first so I can deal with the response.

inquiring minds want to know
what announcement?
Announcement
pro recently decided to change line of work so it's more focused on what pro wants to do, and not on the stuff that's disliked, and will be telling affected clients about it.
todayfirst 12:30 PM
Ok, I got almost everything done, including a couple of those unplanned last minute things... just waiting for that last minute barrage of requests. Maybe it'll be a couple hours before that really starts. I've got a kind of open ended project I'll work on until then... I'll call it Project Y, since I finished (I hope) Project X but this is somewhat related.
DONE:
- Breakfast
- Read some posts
- Double check one fix
- Call P.O.
- Create new CD's
- Mail one CD
- Check file versions
- check weather where I'm going
- 2 source control tasks
- backup my files
TODO:
- meeting
- Unplanned stuff
- Out of office messages
pro's CI - 11:45am
I'm starting to feel anxious as the time edges closer to when I make the announcement to my customers about the change in my business. First I need to pay my bills. Some are overdue, one is due tomorrow.

Gym
Great job getting to the gym again!
gym consistency
Thanks for noticing! I'm trying very hard to be consistent with this. I know that going once in a while doesn't do a thing - it has to be regular.
And you know what? The workout that nearly killed me on Day 1 and was still pretty hard on Day 3 wasn't really challenging enough today. Tomorrow I need to move up to another level on the stair stepper. I think I'm actually getting more fit!
Also, today I did 8 pushups with my feet on the exercise ball. I used to be able to do 15, but 8 is okay. If I'd tried hard I could have done more, but I don't push myself to the point of unpleasantness because I want to keep myself happy so I keep going.
I haven't lost any significant weight yet - maybe two pounds. I've been trying hard to eat more vegetables and protein, and less in the way of carbs and sweets (my favorite). I don't do this perfectly. There were donut holes at a recent meeting I went to, and I stuffed a few of those in my mouth. :)
tip top secret
reading about the extraordinary upper-body strength (pushups), i am more curious than ever :? about pro's gender
Gender
Well, I'm female and when I'm fit I can do 40. Otherwise (like now) it's between one and seven!
1Focus 11:32 "I hate that"
I finally got myself bolted to the chair to hammer out this report. I get a phone call and I'm of to fix a 10 minute emergency.
The part I hate:
I created the emergency by not taking care of the 2 minute thing when I first got asked to do it. Now I have to shift gears again and refocus on this report. By the way, that unimportant thing that THE boss wants done that I've been putting off because it's unimportant is now important even though it's still unimportant.
I hate that, too.
Maybe I should learn to delegate.
Nah, that might be too easy.
delegating
Yes - that's big for me, too. I don't delegate enough (yet another topic covered in the book "Too Perfect"). In fact, had I not been such a control freak about this enterprise which is currently torturing me, I could have disengaged from it a long time ago.
delegating
Ooh that's a tough one. It's darned near impossible for me to delegate anything. Ok, maybe once in a long while I'll ask my wife to do something for me if I physically can't do it myself because I'm nowhere near home. Other than that, I can't stand the thought that I'm responsible for getting something done, but I'm not doing it and have no direct control over it. This is why I have to do all the remodelling work on my house myself. The good part though is that I'm learning how to do everything. I've also got this problem with paying someone to do something I COULD do myself, even if I really don't want to do it (includes repairs, taxes, cleaning, etc).
Me too

Just to say I've eaten and then got stuck into newsletter, which is now finishing printing. Forgot to say I have a meeting! Started 5 mins ago :O
So gotta go to that, then straight on to my classes. Will CUOP and see you later!

Really don't feel like doing anything today. I'm pretty clear on my inbox resistance, now. It's full, it's all important, each will take longer than it should, and I don't know where to begin. Thankfully, no deadlines, just lots of people waiting. I guess there's nothing to do but process it, GTD-sytle. But first, I must get that report done for boss, but I also have to...and...and before that...but then there's...
that scattered, overwhelmed feeling
That sounds so familiar. Just take a deep breath, remind yourself that you only can do what you can do, and if you don't get it all done the world will not end (it will not!). :)
Who me?
You've got the wrong guy. I swear it wasn't me. I may be a little lost today, but scattered and overwhelmed? no way, nope, not me, uh-uh, (s)he must be talking about somebody else. 8)
*...but...then...first...before that...*
It's a new dance move, you like it?
pro's CI - 10:20am
Lots of posts to catch up on! I'll take a few minutes to read - then reflection and journaling, and then The Act (changing the nature of my business).
So far everyone who has voted in the poll has voted to change the site software. I'm leaning that way, too. I think it's best to get it right, and trust that the community will survive the disruption.

I'll be going out of town for a week and a half tomorrow, so I'm trying to keep todays work list short. Why? Because the last day before I leave, I am guaranteed to be given several new tasks that my boss wants taken care of before I'm gone that she couldn't possibly have told me about sooner (I'm being sarcastic). So, I'm going to be proactive and plan for the unplanned!

That, and...
...nobody really wants to do any work the day before heading out of town. Vacations are supposed start a day earlier than scheduled, aren't they?

Norm's 1.50 pm BST BE
Hi everyone!
Been spending too much time CUOP again. I really can't stop it. It ~is~ helpful, but I'm using it to put off other things.
~~~TaDa~~~
*Morning Routine
*Clear out spam
*Take phone call
*CUOP
Erm - I don't think I've done anything else
~~~Blew Off~~~
*Exercise class - I was so tired after the course this weekend (mentally and physically tiring), and the travelling wore me out, so I stayed in bed until 7.00 am.
~~~ToDo~~~
*Eat! (I'm hungry, and have been procrastinating about getting some food)
*Newsletter
*Prep for tonight's classes
I'm going to leave it at that, as I'm so tired I'm in danger of overwhelming myself today.
Hi Normy!
Been spending too much time CUOP again
I hear ya! I MUST tear myself away from the computer and do my evening routine before I'm too tired and just flop into bed unprepared for tomorrow.
Will be checking in tomorrow, chat to you all then. Have a good afternoon, Normy :)
Good night Milo!
