Agnus showing up

Have not even been here for so long I had to log-in again - surprised.  Guess time slipped away this last trip. I've been home since Thursday. Anyway this is Sunday night, a time for restarting my week, and one of my daily meditation books reminded me that I can re-start a 24-hour day at any moment. So I am prayed up, tooled up, ready for bed and my Step 10 planning for tomorrow. Good night for now, and then...bring it on, Monday!

"My boundaries enclose a pleasant land..." Psalm 16

Kitty CI/CO

Today I'd originally planned to do a couple more things than are on the list below, but recognized upon waking that I needed to give myself a day off after having such a successful few days, my first days using the tools of PA.  I have learned that I time-binge.  This might not just be on a specific task--maybe it's when I get wrapped up in momentum over a couple days?  So I don't want to overdo it and get exhausted.  Therefore, a day off to reward myself.

  • Morning meditation done!
  • Workout/shower/dress done!
  • Pick up around house done!
  • Log off computer (no aimless surfing)! (did this!)
  • Relax, read, eat done!
  • Prayer and meditation done!

I commit to being at tomorrow's 8:30/7:30C telephone CI meeting.  See you there, and have a great Sunday.

showing up here is my first act of deciding to let my higher power in.

PS Interesting tidbit I heard today: "Microbursts" are a characteristic of a nuclear bomb, ha ha, so I am going to think of that as do my "microbursts" and instead of thinking "why bother" I will think "power".

Really getting aware of my "computer time bingeing" . I am not doing it any more than before but with all the shares, I am getting out of denial.

Thanks for being here.

Happy Sunday!   I postponed the grocery shopping yesterday because of the sore foot so that's my MIT (most important task) for today.   Other than that I will probably try to get some work done, anticipating that I'll be able to be a little more active next week and I'll have some work hours "in the bank" if I want to leave early a couple days.

e's Sunday may 15 2010

I am having a strange time lately, making progress in one area and then binging on reading, eating, sleeping in another. I am finding that the weekday phone bridge has been immensely helpful to me, but that my willingness to work my program is low. For today I want to stay in the moment and reach out for help. I do not have to do this alone.

For now, I will get up and do one thing at a time: when I put those things in place I feel so much better.

bed, meds, bathe, swish and wash, laundry, dishes, 2nd meds and breakfast. For now,I only want to look at what is immediately in front of me so that I don't freak out about what is next.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal

Please do not leave advice.  Thank you.  Prayers welcome.

What does self-esteem mean for me?

  • coming on time for my appointments, 12 step meetings, job interviews, classes
  • getting seven hours of sleep at night
  • brushing my teeth, flossing, using listerine, endtufted brush at night
  • wearing clothes that look well when I leave the house, not dressing like a hippy or in my pajamas or in my houseclothes, nor in enormous shirts that have holes, nor using broken glasses.
  • brush teeth and use listerine immediately after breakfast
  • exercise once a day for at least half an hour
  • complete assignments by the class time that they are due, and submit them, if they are submittables
  • study for exams with adequate time before they occur
  • accept reality, accept that other people are happy in their own situations
  • pray to the higher power for acceptance
  • pray to the higher power to thank Hir for all I have received that is positive
  • listen to positive spiritual music
  •  sleep in my bed under the covers every night
  • Do not attempt to win people over who have indicated they are unavailable emotionally, geographically or physically.
  • avoid dating sites
  • avoid intriguing romantically
  • do not respond to anyone who is rude or inappropriate or abusive, i.e. protect yourself from these people by not engaging with them in any way.
  • pray to the higher power and connect with Hir daily
  • take care of myself with respect to food, exercise and dental hygeine prior to involving myself with others.
  • Not stalking people either online or offline, whom I have wished to date or have a romantic/sexual interest in.  That includes, but is not limited to Jon, Chris, Sirus, Juli, Jordan, Andrew, Max, Jason, Jonas, Mike.  That means not going to their webpage, not stalking them on chat programs, not googling them, not visiting their page on social networking sites.  Not visiting places where I expect them to be at, not walking by their house or instituting a driveby, not going to their town and expecting to find them by cruising or visiting likely places where they'd be.
  • brushing my hair and wearing gel before I leave the house
  • avoid leaving inappropriate emails and messages for celebrities

Internet addiction

Perhaps you could lock the Internet off for periods of time? Sure, you are not a child so you could always choose to unlock it but sometimes I find myself on the Internet or doing something else to avoid my tasks without really being consious that I chose to do it. It is a bit like sleep walking. Maybe you could ask someone else to set it up so it is locked past 11pm?

Here are some links to free computer lock software

Big challenge today, I am hopeful that I can rise to meet it, wish me luck!

Relapsed. Hard. This

Relapsed. Hard. This occurred due to an unforseen break in my schedule. I put off doing a timed quiz online earlier in the week and luckily just remembered to check when it was due. It was Sunday night. After comlpeting it, I slacked off for hours then went to bed. None of my scheduled tasks were completed. None. I woke up the next morning did as much homework as I could and handed it in incomplete (again). I've been doing a lot of reading on procrastination lately and with so much generic advice (some saying just start working now! others saying accept it theres nothing you can do). I refuse to believe I cant change. I am considering at this moment walking up to the free counselling building in my university. Yet, I am totally unsure if this will be a practical help seeing its quite late in the semester. Thoughts anyone?
